Wow, this was worse than anticipated! The poor quality food was served on paper plates with slow service at high prices. We had to get our own menus after waiting 10 minutes and then track down a waitress that would actually serve us. It was strange to be in a nice resort but eating on paper plates with plastic forks for these prices.
Review Source:Flying Bridge has a great patio. My table was right up by the sand.
Sitting on the beach in December made me crave a fruity cocktail. Their drink selection did not disappoint. I had the Marvelous Mango cocktail. It was quite tasty although I'm not sure how much liquor was in it.
For lunch, I had the grouper sandwich. Although it was a it pricey, the grouper was perfect. Unfortunately, it was on a pretty bad bun. If I'm spending $17+ on a sandwich, some decent bread would be good.
The restaurant is anchored in the lagoon at the Tradewinds Resort and is an authentic Florida Cracker house although the redesign makes it hard to imagine it being one. It's sunny and cozy inside with several small tables around the main bar.
My friend and I shared a few drinks and the Nachos. They were cheesy and beefy though a bit on the greasy side.
Pigeons and small wrens come walking around looking for hand-outs which is a little distracting. I saw people feeding them by hand although there's signs posted around the room saying 'DON'T FEED THE BIRDS!.
At least they didn't get up on the table to join us.
