Visited here over the holidays and had a "just ok" experience.
The tequila selection is good, we had the Sunshine State($12) drink mkade with blanco tequila, elderberry flower liquer and grapefruit juice ( a drink so good I now make at home!) We also had some Avion Anejo ($15) which was very good, nice and smooth.
For food we had the squash bisque, which was served with a melted herbed marshamallow (I know it sounds weird but it was sooo good) and cilamtro shavings ($9) Excellent dish. Not so good with the rest we ordered which was the steak tacos ($13) and the tostada trio ($12) The steak taco was refrigerator cold and promptly got sent back. The second time it came out warmer but it was literally all watercress with one little slice of steak and a blob of tomato jam.
The tostadas didnt' fare well either. They come three to an order with one topped with carnitas, one with squash and cheese and another with shredded beef. The tostadas were impossible to cut even with a knife so we ended up not so daintily picking them up to eat them only to find disapointment in every bite. tough pork, bland squash, and stringy beef.
Oh, I forgot to mention the chips, salsa and guac we had ($9) which literally tasted like taco bell mild sauce with some whole tomato thrown in. (That was  a terrible salsa!)
So, I would go back here for drinks but I wouldn't try the food again. Now the good part is the sea porch cafe is connected to here. They just redid their menu and you can order off of it was well.I would try their food as the menu did look quite promising. Â
It's also opened up to the pool area so you can sit by the pool and enjoy your libations when weather allows. This December, it didn't
Sunsets is phenomenal. If you like a good tequila, you'll love this place. Food is good too, but I think it goes to a limited menu at some point in the evening.
Set inside the stunning Don Cesar, it's great for live music or just meeting up with friends. They also have a really good happy hour on weekdays.
I'm craving a shot of Don Julio just thinking about it...
