I noticed that the other two reviews for this restaurant are several years old and wanted to post a more recent experience. Â My husband and I have gone to the Flying Dog several times in the last year (2012) because it's so close to where we live. Â They have a decent beer selection, but the food is nothing special. Â I've had several things, including the stuffed chicken and wraps. Each time the chicken tasted like it was warmed up frozen food. Â Definitely not fresh. Â My husband enjoyed his ribs. Â He also had Shepherd's Pie and thought it was ok. Â Our server was great. Â He was the best part of the experience. Â Very friendly guy. Â Overall, there are better places to eat in the area so we probably won't be returning to the Flying Dog for dinner anymore.
Review Source:Years have gone by since my initial review, what was once a glowing review of a fine establishment has lost it's charm. Poor service unless you are a frequent patron of the bar area, mediocre food that has replaced it's former glory and just in general a place I try to avoid. Even buying a six pack of beer is sometimes a chore. I get that more than five seats are taken at the bar, but when I walk in solo and take a seat, I probably would like to patronize your establishment and spend money. Don't glance and then go make sure everybody else seated has their beer and drink orders taken care of first. Time is precious to me, especially when I'm spending $15.00 for a six pack and still being courteous enough to leave a tip. There are many other places nearby to purchase drinks and have a meal that hasn't been dropped in a deep fryer or pulled out of a freezer. Try those first. If you're really into the idea of having a terrible time at an establishment, then by all means, have a go.
