I have experienced nothing but great customer service here, and the food has been great. Â Even as pescetarians, my husband and I have been able to find food that we want to eat at this German restaurant. Â The beers are fun, and the food seems authentic, and the building is amazing how it was restored. Â I like how all the servers and staff were German gear (Lederhosen) and also I believe they have a nice big parking lot and shuttle people up to the Britt Festival in the summer---so that is a sweet option. Â It is slightly expensive, even for Jacksonville.
Review Source:This place has good food. I think I *might* have a heart attack from the grease but it was certainly tasty.
I had the baked trout stuffed with mushroom and bread crumbs (and although it wasn't on the menu, bacon, as well). I had my choice of two sides and I chose the red cabbage (sweet and slightly pickly) and the potato salad.
Friends had the taster platter with bratwurst, deep fried organs and ham. They also had a couple of pretzels, deep fried sausage and a flight of beer.
I've never been to Germany but I bet this place is pretty authentic. The decor is German, German music and tons of German beers available. Plus the setting is very cute in an old schoolhouse in historic Jacksonville.
The servers were VERY friendly and eager to accommodate our vegan friends.
