Freckle Face Gourmet

Relatively new (June 2013) main street eatery in Republic. Great food & drinks.  Pub like atmosphere but actually a family facility where youngsters are allowed. Makes a great combination for those who'd like a good tap local brew but have traveling companions under 21 years of age. Right in the heart of the ever popular mountainous back-country, tourist destination of Republic, WA.

New joint in town... I found it as I was passing thru on my way from Colville to Orville. Clean, friendly staff. I had the Sassy pig - YUMMMMMY (but messy :))

Give this place a shot - it's worth the stop. Give them a break as they get the kinks figured out as a new business in the busy summer tourist season.

This business has a location in the old Tamarack Pizza building.

We usually eat at Tamarack pizza which apparently is no longer in business so we tried this place, the sign said Freckle Face BBQ.

We were seated at around 2pm.  We ordered approximately 15 minutes later, the restaurant was busy about 7 out of 10 tables were filled.  We received our drinks quickly and that was the end of the pleasant experience.

Around 2:30pm our hostess/waitress said "Whenever you're ready", placed a ticket on our empty table and walked off before I could respond.  I was confused and a little irritated, my wife took the ticket and went to go ask if we could have our food.  She came back a little flustered and said they'd bring out our food soon.

Our food came out about 20 minutes later, it looked great.  I was holding a baby so I only picked at my food and the waitress came back out a few minutes later and said they gave me the wrong burger so she took it and about 5 minutes later I got the correct one.  The Bleu Cheese burger was okay, and the other 2 people I was with had the Sassy Pig sandwich and they said it was great.  We were relieved that the food was good and at least the service couldn't get any worse.  We were wrong.

When the ticket came we were charged extra for the upgrade from fries to onion rings, fried pickles, or fried jalapenos.  (They were out of fries so we didn't have a choice)  I brought this up to the waitress and she disagreed about not being charged and went to go speak with someone else.  She then brought back the ticket and $3 in cash.  I said that wasn't necessary and that she could just fix the ticket since we hadn't paid yet, she became indignant and said "Well, you are going to pay aren't you?", I said yes and just took the $3 and gave her my debit card to avoid escalating the situation.  She then brought me an iPhone with CC attachment to sign, she had also credited the $3.  I signed the ticket, placed the $3 on the table and we left.

Food is good, however  the service is perhaps the worse I've ever experienced.
