A relatively new cafe open on he ground floor of an office/condo building, French Broad Cafe offers light fare for breakfast and lunch. It's casual, clean and serves tasty good, and we give it a solid recommendation. You place your order and are seated, and your food is brought to the table (they also do take-out). The menu is mostly sandwiches and wraps; in the colder months they offer coups (we were disappointed not be able to sample them in summer). The sandwiches are freshly made; they can do a respectable Reuben, and their homemade pimento cheese is good, but only a little tangy and with too much mayo for us. The sandwiches come with a pickle and chips, and you can get a half order. Prices are reasonable (half pimento cheese $4.25, full sandwich $6.25, for instance), but for the price the sandwiches seem just a bit on the small side.
Review Source:This was a really quaint restaurant with really good food. Â The sandwiches were excellent and the breads were fabulous. Â We were with a group of 9 and everyone loved what they ordered and presentations were great. Â A bit on the higher price side for a sandwich but everything was fresh and good. Â Trendy decor and very clean. Â A good experience overall although portions could be a bit larger.
