If it were an option, this rating would be 4.6 stars.
The previous iteration of this establishment, Â known as the Friendly Tavern, was a guilty pleasure of mine - a go-to spot for a greasy burger or breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. It was disappointing when it closed, and then sat empty for a few years.
As the name (with the addition of the words "Grille and" added to the title) implies, there is an increased emphasis on the food they serve .
After several visits, the food has yet to miss the mark. Â Burgers and broasted chicken both genuinely stand out. On a pleasant day, grab a seat on the new deck along the Western side of the Friendly, and peer in to the densely wooded area adjacent to you as you congratulate yourself for paying heed to this review.
Decent food at a decent price. We've been several times. A nice additional option for the area. Service is improving with time/experience. I like their Philly sandwich. Chicken & burgers are decent. Don't go expecting something fancy & you won't be disappointed. Good hometown burger joint.
Review Source:We really wanted to like this place because the area lacks any really decent places for a burger or just pub food. However the service here was really bad and at times laughable. From the start the server forgot parts of order, forgot one drink, delivered the wrong sauce and then disappeared when we got the check. Finally when the check arrived we waited again for some time to get the receipt only to be charged for an extra beer they forgot to add on before. She recognized that the service was poor but rather than comp for a drink simply said we forgot to charge you!
As for the food, its standard diner fare. Nothing special and nothing great in fact the fish and chips was quite poor. Happy Landings five miles down the road is a much better option.
The best part is that food and drinks are cheap. We do hope that they make it as Jones needs a good decent restaurant and bar but the service will need to improve.
