Possibly one of the worst Mexican restaurants in the greater Chicagoland metropolitan area. Â
It seemed that one of the servers stole our table from someone else - which was a shame because the other server had to be better than the one we got. Â She didn't know the specials, took our drink orders separately, (because my husband was using the restroom) and brought our bill before we asked - so I guess I was done, whether I wanted to be or not.
The food was bad, too. Â The guac was grocery store variety, no heat, no spice, nothing special. Â The salsa was a mix of chopped up tomatoes, nothing more. Â My two tacos campos, one chicken, one steak, were really bad. Â The meat seemed as if it was flat ironed on to the grill, because both sides of each piece of meat had a hardened crust on it. Â My husband said there were no words to describe how bad his tamale was and that his burrito was edible. Â Don't even get me started on the watery beans. Â In a city that has a Mexican restaurant every few miles, my advice is to just keep on driving.
I was really excited to have a local Mexican restaurant in Lemont and I really wanted to like it. Â I love Mexican food.
The wife and I gave this place a try 3 times.
The first time, the food was ok. I thought perhaps it was just the meal I ordered.
(Although I got a combo plate.)
Then the second time I tried something different and I was starting to wonder if it was everything on a whole/ that didn't appeal to me.
So I gave the place one last chance and that was the end of it. It was really not good at all. Nothing seemed close to authentic at all/
It all seemed very bland and just thrown together. I had some strange unknown spices that did not work well together.
I was very disappointed to say the least. As was the wife.
Unfortunately we won't be going back.
