This place is pretty cool. Â They don't serve hard alcohol but you can bring beer or wine and have them pour it for you. Â Hookah is reasonably priced ($18-25 per hookah). Â They have a female belly dancer that comes out around 10pm. Â She attempts to engage the crowd and get people to copy her dancing skills (most people aren't good though). Â I've went here two times and will definitely be going back this summer.
Review Source:I love this place! Â I'd never done a hookah before so I didn't know what to expect. But After my first time, I've been back 2 more times since. The service was fantastic, the food was excellent, and the hookah was amazing! My favorite hookah flavor is the "Candyland" and "Candyland's Cousin". On the food menu, I've tried 3 different hummuses and everyone has been soooo good! I usually order the chick pita if we are having dinner there and that is very good too! This place is really great, so if you are looking for a hookah lounge to eat, smoke, and enjoy company with friends, this is a great spot! Oh and it's BYOB, and I always take in beer. It's served in very cold glasses that are kept in a freezer, I imagine. I can't recommend this place enough!
Review Source:My girlfriend and I were looking for something different to do on the first night of our weekend getaway in Newport. We used yelp to find this place and I'm so happy that we did. We sat on one of the floor seats on pillows which was awesome! We ordered the double apple for hookah flavoring, and for food we got the hummus and the fried eggplant with cheese and red peppers which both came with warm pita bread and were amazing! Not only was it a great relaxing environment but there was also a belly dancing show which was so awesome! Cameron our waiter gave great service and also held on to my girlfriends wallet for us when she forgot it there. A very different and cool experience.

The owner, Sina, is awesome and was very welcoming to me and my gf. Â The staff is also phenomenal. Â Our server, Nisa, was extremely nice and very pleasant to talk to. Â We felt right at home!
Genie's Hookah Lounge is such a fun place to hang out and we will DEFINITELY be back. Â I recommend Genie's to everyone who likes hookah lounges. Â The belly dancing shows they have are AMAZING!! Â Cristina's performance is DEFINITELY a must see!!
Oh my GOD!!! This place is amazing! Ambience is exactly what you would expect of a Middle Eastern hookah lounge. The best hookah lounge I have ever been to! They had a professional belly dancer perform while we were there on a Saturday night...absolutely fabulous!!! The owners are from Iran so they know what they are doing. One of the owners was working that night and was very kind and patient...my boyfriend has a tendency to talk alot and he was very friendly and spent time with him. We had dessert and a hookah and came back the next morning for breakfast outside on their patio. Everything was great! Will definitely make this place a traditional Newport destination!
Review Source:Fabulous place. We were just walking by and didn't even expect a Hookah lounge to be in the area and decided to stop by. We were a little thrown off that it was BYO wine and beer but there was a liquor store within 5 minutes so it was very convenient. We ended up staying there for 3+ hours. Each hookah lasts for about 1.5-2 hours which was amazing since they usually last about 45 minutes max around most places. The owners came out to talk to use twice and it just felt very personal and welcoming. They also give you a reusable hose so you are not sharing with anyone else. You get to keep the house and the next time you come back they will give you $2.00 off. Basically this place is the best of the best. Love it!!
Review Source:What a great place - my new fave spot on Aquidnick Island! Â The atmosphere is laid back, the food is fantastic, the hookah is phenomenal, and the belly dancers are beautiful!
When you first come in they greet you and tell you that their house is your house, and every time I go they deliver. Â Sina and Feri are excellent hosts and obviously care a lot about their patrons. Â It's very nice to go someplace and have the owners remember your name.
If you have the opportunity to visit while the belly dancers are performing be prepared to say, "WOW! Â How do they do that?" Â Their balance and poise is impressive, and by the way, apparently belly dancing requires crowd participation so tie on a hip scarf and shake it!
My only complaint is that I have to drive 90 minutes to get there, but I find the experience to be well worth it!
Job well done- this is an incredible establishment. The staff is more than friendly, the food is great and best of all, the hookahs are set up perfectly. Sitting inside, it will seem as though you are in a big city lounge but the service of the staff will far surpass that. Â
Not only does this place have very pair prices, it is BYOB so my girlfriend and I were able to sit and relax with three hookahs and 3 bottles of wine- what an amazing evening...
I have been everywhere in Newport, and I mean everywhere and this is a must for me to bring my guests to the area.
They've done a great job setting up this lounge. The inside is very well ventilated if you're worried about smoke.
They offer a big selection of flavors. What's unique is that you can get your hookah setup with water, milk, or soda. Each option gives a distinct taste.
And they have a delicious food menu. You especially have to try the two kinds of baba ganoush that they offer: red and white.
If you're visiting New Port and wanting to relax, definitely check this place out...
I visited Genie's when it first opened. Â It has a wonderfully warm feel and a low-key atmosphere. Â It is a great alternative to a bar if you are looking for a more laid-back, friendly experience and want to be able to chat with your companions without having to yell. Â
We tried a variety of desserts, which were all amazing -- definitely recommend them! Â I really enjoyed my visit to Genie's and look forward to going back.
