The best! My boyfriend and I stayed here during our trip up and down the coast of CA. This place was definitely the highlight of our trip. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. We loved feeding the chickens (every guest gets chicken feed in their room) and hanging out with the llamas. There were several trails from the property that guests could take to explore the beautiful outdoors. The staff was friendly and helpful and put in the extra effort to make our stay special. The view was also beautiful. Our room was unique and spacious--and in the morning our breakfast was delivered through a rotating bookcase! The eggs from breakfast were fresh from the chickens on site. Honestly, probably my best B&B/hotel experience ever!

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. Â It's very peaceful to sit outside and gaze beyond the llamas out to the ocean in the evening. We got the budget room, and it was bigger than we thought and charmingly decorated. There was a little bag of chicken feed to toss to the chickens if you like.
It was nice to be around the animals in such a peaceful setting. We really needed to get away and relax, and this was a great spot. Â When we arrived, we were greeted with free wine and a delicious appetizer.
Breakfast features the property chickens' own eggs. It's hard to describe how good breakfast was! And it's delivered to your room, although we decided to eat in the common area so we could see the ocean. We had it all to ourselves! (All the other rooms have ocean views, I believe.)
There was a carafe of port and treats available for guests all night. The staff was friendly and courteous, and they paid close attention to thoughtful details. They have a wine bar(n) there, too!
If you stay on a Monday as we did, dinner isn't served on site, but they provide a free shuttle to take you to a decent place nearby. Apparently, they serve amazing meals other days of the week.
I bet this place would be great for kids because it resembles a well-manicured mini farm. It's not far from the beach, either, although I think the main appeal is really the grounds.
It's definitely a place for a special occasion. And it sure is romantic!
Enjoy.
Our first trip to Mendocino - Glendeven Inn is very nice. Rooms are comfortable, and the property is interesting - lamas, chickens, trails, etc. Evening wine and appetizers were good, but I wish the wine changed nightly or we had wines to choose from. Breakfast was good but lacked meat (bacon, sausage, etc) - for any meat lovers an FYI. No cell phone service, but they do have excellent free WiFi and free landline phones to use in an emergency. The Farm to Table dinners were cancelled right before our arrival, so that was a huge disappointment....since one of the reasons we chose Glendeven was because of the dinners.
