I've eaten take out from here a solid 6 times while working a project nearby and I think they're a solid chinese joint all around. Food was always well prepared, staff out front was friendly and timely. I've never ate in but the area looks comfortable and a decent crowd comes in during lunch hours.
Review Source:We have ordered take out from here once and ate there tonight. Â
For take out I had the veggie lo mein and the egg drop soup. Â I thought both were good, but particularly liked the egg drop soup. Â Hubby had the general tso's chicken and remarked that the chicken was better quality than most other Chinese places he has eaten general tso's at.
Ate there tonight and the service was very good. Â The host and servers were very prompt, friendly, and checked in with us during our meal. Â Had the shrimp toast appetizer which was a whole piece of shrimp on toast...the flavor was right but I liked this way of preparation much more than the paste-on-toast version. Â I had the seseme chicken which was good. Â Hubby had the orange beef and general tso's chicken combination and he seemed to enjoy it. Â
The portion size was good...definitely enough left over for both of us to have lunch. Â
Hubby and I will definitely eat here again!
When this was the only Chinese restaraunt in Pluckemin and Bedminster, it was the best Chinese food in town, unless you purchased frozen Chinese food from King's and cooked it in the microwave. Â Now, there are much better choices Chu's Cafe and even better is Ling Ling at River Walk. There is nothing fresh and inspired in this tired, dated and quiet restaraunt. Â I want to love it so badly but just cannot even think to go there any longer despite liking the original owner but the Wonton soup is hot water, the Chicken With Broccoli is very standard and filling and the dishes seem uninspired. Â I would love to see a renovation of this great location. Â It is easilly the best location of the three Chinese restaraunts in town but seems to lack cullinary commitment at all and is 20 years past their prime.
Review Source:Went here last night. Dinner menu is pricey and it's lunch size portions. I have the general tso's and the sauce was watery. The fried rice tasted old but the chicken was actually decent. My gf had the sesame chicken and they gave her fried rice instead of white. The order took under 6 minutes which was concerning. When we were leaving the owner ran out and flagged us down to give us a thing of white rice realizing they made a mistake. Both combo's were over $25 total! Pretty ridiculous considering the quality of food. Oh and you get an egg roll which tasted like cardboard.
Review Source:Literally a throwback to Chinese Restaurants from the 70s and early 80s. Â When you walk in, its very nostalgic, as if you walked into an old movie (which was kind of nice) but unfortunately the food is also a throwback., and the menu hasn't caught up with the times either-- chow mein, lo mein, fried rice, chop suey type items dominate the menu. Â Nothing really tastes fresh, and everything is very greasy.
