Good Times is aptly named. It's not Incredible Times. It's not Epic Times. It's not Mindblowingly Awesome Times. But we did have a good time.
We had a pretty grueling morning spent climbing, hiking, and spelunking through the woods so we were trying to think of a place in our neighborhood that wouldn't be too classy for a trio covered in dirt and sweat. We rolled into Good Times on a  Saturday, just before noon, for an early lunch and the place was empty.
We briefly debated over whether or not it's acceptable to order a beer at 11:45 in the morning, but we unanimously decided that we had no moral dilemma about morning drinking. With 5 or 6 beers on tap we were each able to get what we wanted. The food, as the name says, is good. We didn't get to try a very broad array of options since we each decided to order the same meal, but we liked what we got. The chili was satisfying and the wings had just the right amount of heat and good flavor. The best part was the prices. Everything, especially on the lunch menu, was a great value.
I liked it here. We had a good meal and a good time. We'll definitely be back at some point.

  The fish cakes, the real reason I drove there, are no longer offered.  This truly s******, seeing as I Yelped it the night before and was lusting after greasy balls of 5% fish.  I hate it when I am really looking forward to something I think I properly researched, and it just doesn't happen.
That being said, it wasn't bad. Â The Bride was quite happy with it; she can't stand fishcakes anyway. Â It is only $8.99, cheaper than most. Â There is no Omlette Dude standing there like at Quincy Bay Inn, but one can get omlettes cooked to order, covered under the buffet price.
  I got "Texas", which was poached eggs on a buttery english muffin, with home made hash.  Pretty good.
  So a solid 3, worth the trip, at least the coffee being included, or the presence of the promised fishcakes, might have jumped it up, but a 3 is a good Yelp score.
Good Times spends most of its time being a restaurant and bar, but this review is specifically of their breakfast buffet, which you can get on Sundays from 9-12:30 from Sept-June for the absolute steal of $8.99. Â I came here on a recent Sunday with a meetup group (RI brunch meetup). Â We arrived at 11 and everything was still fresh. Â On the buffet itself, you can get standards like eggs, pancakes, french toast, home fries, bacon, and sausage, but you can also get biscuits and gravy (hooray!) and some New England specialties like fish cakes and baked beans. Â There was also a selection of bagels, muffins, and bread for toasting, but I skipped over these items because they didn't look so hot. Â I did happily enjoy the biscuits and gravy though, as well as pancakes and crispy french toast with hot blueberry topping. Â They have a variety of eggs made to order, which is what I'd recommend as other people in the group thought that the eggs on the buffet were rubbery.
Very quick service on the coffee, but slower on other drinks, unfortunately. Â Waitresses did not seem thrilled to be there.
What makes this a good buffet is that it is *cheap* and there's a good selection. Â But this is no fancy mother's day type brunch. Â Frankly, it's more like a hangover cure brunch. Â If there were dive brunches, this would be the gold standard.
