As a muppet once said, "people's is people's," and so the same goes for dohertys. It is dohertys. It's not The Worlds Best Whatever, but the place to go where you can feel completely comfortable. Good for a group, good for a solo bar jaunt, it's good for everyone (except, maybe, people who need help with stairs?).
They have multiple trivia nights (Sunday and Tuesday), 87 beers on tap, changing with the seasons, a pretty spacious seating area, friendly servers, and so on. Diverse crowd, as well, which I appreciate. Â
The food is good, not all of it is great, but they offer a good amount of vegetarian options. And the shepards pie is so yumolicious.
It's my new go-to, so I do wish they had frequent visitor deals :)
I have been to Doherty's several times, and always leave satisfied. Â I have never had a meal here that I felt was just meh, they have all been tasty, and way too filling. Â Do yourself a favor, and plan on leaving with a doggie bag. Â
The choices available range from sandwiches to full dinners.  There are traditional Irish Pub foods  available, such as bangers and mash, and the latest trend foods, like pulled pork.  They offer a nice selection of comfort foods, with items like meatloaf and shepherd's pie. Â
With most meals, you get a choice of sides, which is quite extensive. Â They range from ordinary tater tots, to exotic rosemary oven roasted fries. Â They have always have a variety of vegetables offered when I have visited, which might not be farm fresh, but are not the oil drenched mushy variety that are often served in other places.
I don't go for the beer menu, which is quiet extensive, and to my non drinking eye looks impressive. Â Many interestingly colored beverages are paraded by one's table, served in an intriguing variety of ways.
The waitstaff at Doherty's has never been anything less than friendly and helpful. Â I have even had to request a table change due to unexpected friends stopping by, and the staff and server were helpful and unflustered buy the request. Â I love that they are so attentive. Â I have never had to ask to have my beverage refilled, they just do it automatically. Â
If you need good food and good service served up in a friendly atmosphere, Doherty's Pub is the place to go!
Love the beer flights here. They also carry the hard cider I like. Servers are very friendly. I like the smaller room off to the side that is quieter than the main room. Tried 3 kinds of wings, all good. Nachos are ok but the bottom layer needs more cheese. I ordered a reuben with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut so it is more of a Rachel. The sandwich was very good but I was very deflated when I got my soft sweet potato tots. A tot of any kind HAS to be crispy. Way better in theory than execution. Overall this was an ok visit
