The first time I came to this place I was skeptical. Its a small shop, and the name isn't well known. But I was so taken aback by the food. I honestly haven't had any better subs than these. They're amazing. They offer better quality food than subway, nothings greasy, better prices, and actual REAL customer service. They talk to you, and are involved in the community (for real... not the fake charitable stuff big companies do) . Â When you walk in you can see photos of different customers. Its just a very friendly atmosphere, and you'll never be able to eat at Subway again! My favorite sandwich is the Super Italian.
Review Source:Great sub spot in Grand Terrace. Much better than the sandwich place that used to be there. Â Owners are very personable and friendly. Â I like that they offer veggie turkey as an option. Bread is fresh and they don't skimp on the toppings. Â Sometimes service can be a little on the slow side. Â Sandwiches are served with chips and cookies.
Review Source:After reading reviews in yelp we couldn't wait to try this grinder place. Â For one thing they were very pricey and the second it was like going to Subway, only Subway is better. Â This was not a grinder, it was a big, thick soft roll loaded with everything. Â Nothing special and do not understand the ratings which leads me to believe that those that have posted were perhaps friends or they really like what they got. Â There is a difference between a grinder and a sub and it's the bread. Â Sorry won't go here again.
Review Source:Honestly, I thought it would be pretty pricey but it wasn't. It tasted pretty good! Their bread is probably the best bread I have ever had on a sandwich, but the meat on the sandwich is low grade. I have tried every type of meat they offer and each is reminiscent of bologna. The texture, the smell, the look, all point to bologna (with the exception of the bacon). Besides the super thick slices of bologna turkey... it was a pretty damn good sandwich! I will go back again!
Review Source:This place is fat central, probably why over reviews say it tastes good. if you're a health freak like I am, I do not recommend this place. I managed to finish most of my sandwich, which was drowned in oil and mayonnaise, before I raced home to release the poison from my system. Overall, the sandwich was good, only if you like fatty items. If not, steer clear.
Review Source:Awesome customer service. When we entered, we were pleasantIy greeted and asked if this was our first visit. We were introduced to the menu and the customer favorites. I Â had a 6" SoCal and my boyfriend had "The Beast". He wanted a 12", but the owner advised him to start with the 6". Â I was very impressed that the owner put customer satisfaction first, over making a few extra bucks. The sandwiches were prepared quickly. Â These 6" sandwiches are huge!
Since our first visit, we have returned several times and I think I am addicted. Â This is my favorite sandwich spot! Â The service and quality is always excellent.
I decided to try it after so many good reviews on yelp, it was definitely worth it! My wife had the "SoCal" Grinder toasted, which she says is the best turkey bacon avocado sandwich she's had anywhere. And she orders that sandwich anywhere that has it on the meny. I had "The Don" which was spicy like I love, and the oil and vinegar they put on the sandwich really makes it. Both sandwiches were very juicy and delicious without any mustard or condiments needed. The bread is fresh, like they make their own. Nice service too. Definitely a must try if you're in the area. 2 of the best sandwiches we've ever had for $10.
We need to convince them to get a Muffuletta on the menu, it would seem at home here :)
Not only is the food amazing but the service is top notch! Ran by family Cory the owner, and brother Shawn and auntie hooking up the grinders behind the counter! Also u can give them your phone number and they can produce your last order exactly how you ordered it! That is a plus especially if you loved your last  grinder and u can remember which one it was, no worries they got u covered!!  And for a $1 more you get a bag of chips and a 16 oz soda!!
Review Source:Good choice of hot or cold sandwiches filled with a generous amount of good meat and other zingy salad toppings. Â I enjoyed my ham and turkey, and Mr. B loved his Honey Hill Club. Â They are very reasonably priced, use good bread, and also offer salads.
Make it a combo (includes a "serve yourself" drink and chips) for a mere dollar more.
Right off the 215 highway at Barton Rd. Â Easy access. Â Small strip mall. Â There is also another deli (Italian) in that strip mall. Â They are interesting too, but sorry, I digress.
Yes, I would go there again.
Finally went here today after days and days went by hearing my daughter always saying GT Grinders so we stopped for lunch as a family and the owner knew my daughter by name and we felt so comfortable I ordered the #30 So Cal. It was made to perfection it is nice to have such a nice, clean and delicious sandwich shop so close I made my mind up before I left that next time I need to order the beast. I can't wait to return.
Review Source:This is a HUGE step up from any chain sandwich place! Â Whether you call this food a hoagie, grinder, or submarine sandwich, its AMAZING when made fresh with quality ingredients. Â Â
Unless you're super-demanding, branch out and try one of the more than 20 sandwiches suggested on the menu (just have them omit anything you hate). Â The rolls are generously-sized and freshly-baked, although I really missed having my sandwich (or at least my roll) toasted.
If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, this is not the place for you. Â The only other thing available is six made-to-order sandwiches. Â I loved the free drink, chips, and cookie -- if only they had been willing to toast my sandwich and suggest mustard.
All in all, if you're having a sandwich for lunch, this is the place to come..
What is a grinder exactly? I'm still not sure, but I'll be sure to ask the next time (which would probably be my 8th time in a month). Apparently, it's like a sub sandwich, but take that image of Subway out of your head cuz eating at this place will smack that chain restaurant way down your list of sandwich places to go.
$3.99. This gets you a solid turkey or roast beef sandwich (6 inches, but it feels bigger...that's what she said). Oh yeah, and it also gets you a bag of chips, a bag of cookies (currently it's Knott's strawberry shortbread cookies), and a medium soda. Probably the best price around town for what you get. The sandwiches are amazing. Good flavorful bread, quality veggies, and great deli meats and dressings.
Some sandwiches are more (roast beef and turkey combo is $4.49, and California girl and the Cluck are up to $5.49 for a 6 inch). All of them are good, but since I'm on a med student budget and usually am just dropping in for a quick lunch, a $3.99 combo will do just fine.
Chances are, you might have had a better sandwich at another point in your life. I know I have. BUT, for the prices and the area (that is Inland Empire), it's a no brainer that this place is one of the best. The place is owned and operated by 2 young brothers. They're super cool and give you great small-town service. Keep it up guys!
P.S. Recommend calling ahead your order to save time if you're in a rush.
After finding this place I will NEVER go back to subway or quiznos.
The owners are very friendly and down to earth. They also stuff their sandwiches with toppings unlike subway. I got the the So-Cal and it was bomb. The sandwich comes with a drink, chips, and a cookie whenever you go and the ingredients they use are fresh.
My friend decided to take 'the Beast' challenge which weighed in at 3lb 11oz. If you finish the sandwich you get to be put up on the hall of fame.
Overall I am very satisfied with the place and see myself becoming a regular.
We've been seeing the flyers from these guys, but just never got over there to check it out. Â So, today we went over to the place...it's tiny, right next to the little liquor store that serves as a post office front.
Very clean, somewhat austere, really...I think that would be a good word for the shop itself.
A long list of sandwiches with cute pet names...
But the bread...omigosh! The bread is so perfect...just perfect bread, so you could put like fertilizer in it & it would be good....ok, maybe not fertilizer...but what these guys put it in is incredible. Â The meat is great, just the right amount of veggies...generous...fresh...
Worth every penny, although at $10 for a 12" grinder, chips, soda and cookies...it's a bag and all that! Â Great great great place!
We decided to try this place because of the reviews on Yelp. Â Another score! Â We ordered the Italian and the SoCal grinders. Â Both were delicious! Â The ingredients were fresh and of great quality. Â I especially liked the bread. Â Will definitely come back next time we're driving by Grand Terrace during meal time.
Review Source:After reading the very positive Yelp reviews my coworker & I decided to try out Grand Terrace Grinders today. We left thoroughly impressed, with a new venue to our expanding lunch list.
The spot was difficult to find. Comical at best. The freeway was a nightmare so we exited a few exits early & that's where the confusion begins. Do yourselves a favor & stick out the traffic & exit on Barton. That clearly is the way to go. Otherwise you'll find yourself circling Colton/Grand Terrace like we did confused on exactly what shopping center this is located in.
When we found the restaurant we went in & placed our order. For $9 (that was the full amount) I ordered a foot long Italian Grinder and received a drink, chips & cookies. AWESOME! The sandwich was made within 5-7 minutes & let me tell you, that thing was HUGE. I can eat a whole footlong @ Subway but I could barely finish half here. The difference is in the meats! At Subway they use "meats" that are thin, rubbery & often times non-identifiable. Here the cuts are thick, REAL and extremely tasty. The bread was soft and very, very good.
I would highly recommend this establishment. If ever I find myself wanting to grab a bite from Subway I will go out of my way to find this restaurant & give them my money instead. They are worth it.
Came here for the first time today after receiving a flyer for free soda, chips AND cookies with the purchase of a sandwich. Less than $6! I got the SoCal (turkey, bacon, avocado, yum!). Everything was fresh and even the plain old white bread I got was good. The owner was there and everyone was very friendly, super fast service too. I think the free Chips, soda, cookies thing is everyday, even without the coupon. You can upsize your drink for a little more. A great local find! I look forward to going back and trying some other sandwiches.
Review Source:LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Â The sandwiches are THE BOMB! Â The guys that work there (own it) are sooo nice and friendly, and every time they tell me the total (usually $5 or $6 something), I say, "Dang, that's a bargain!" Â They often have specials with fliers that arrive on my front door knob for free chips, drink, and cookies with a purchace of a grinder. Â CAN'T BEAT IT!! Â Seriously, try this place if you love a great grinder!!
Review Source:I just went here for the first time today. Â
I got the Super Italian 6" sandwich with chips and soda for $6.52 total. Â The sandwich was bigger than I expected and everything was totally fresh and high quality. Â It should be a crime to go to Subway when this place is an option. Â Support a quality local business. Â
I'm adding this place to my list of local favorite restaurants. Â I'll be coming back frequently (and I actually live down the hill in Colton).
Their menu says they have a party menu online at:

Met the owner the other night while ordering grinders to go. He told me that the reason they don't have hot grinders is due to the high cost of health dept. inspections, which he said would amount to about $7500. $7500 for a health dept. inspection!
To compound the situation, he recently closed a pizza restaurant nearby and would like to move his oven from that location. Problem - it doesn't meet the current environmental requirements.
Pity. The grinders hereb are very good, and hot ones would probably be even better.
The grinders here are the best I've had in the area. The bread (which is often overlooked) is excellent here. It has just the right amount of texture, not too soft, not too crisp neither - it's perfectly baked so that the moment you bite into it, it's pretty consistent. The flavor of the bread is delicious, and I've had both white and wheat. The meats are fresh and tastey with just the right amount of salitness and peppering. Veggies, well, they're as good as it gets. Their creamy italian has a nice fusion with meats, veggies and bread. Â Overall, I can't think of anything better. They lowered their prices, but I suspect not for long, so at the very least you can justify not going to subway down the street and give this place a try. Once you do, I am confident you will be converted.
Quick update though, their oven for toasting went out around 08/2010... Don't know when they'll get it back and running, but it doesn't matter, the food is awesome regardless.
We needed a ton of subs for my daughter's first birthday party. Â We were going to get a huge sub from Subway, but I thought I'd give this local shop a try. Â They undercut Subway's price and their sandwiches were twice the quality! Â Support your local business owners like these guys. Thanks Grand Terrace Grinders!
Review Source:Not often in California do you find restaurants offering "grinders." Â As a first generation Californian from "Back East" stock, I was intrigued upon seeing a flyer on my car after exiting the Stater Bros. on my lunch hour a few months ago (yes, this place is so good I am reviewing months later). Â Well, annoyed but then intrigued - "Free chips, cookies & drink with any 6" grinder purchase." Â Hello, sold.
The staff is extremely friendly. Â So much so that they remember your name on your next visit. Â They pushed for me to have my first grinder toasted, but I declined. Â Seriously though - get them toasted. Â Amazing. Â
For the price, you get quality ingredients (no mealy, mushy tomatoes or see-through cucumbers here!) piled on a warm freshly baked grinder roll. Â The creamy Italian dressing demands mention - a fantastic, unique addition to all of their grinders. Â I'm not sure if this is house made, but delicious stuff. Â
Better than any sub place you've ever been to. Â If you are in the neighborhood or just driving through, definitely worth a stop!
