Stopped in this afternoon to have a celebratory beer after concluding a bit of business at the bank across the street. Â Hadn't been in this place since it was called Flashbacks. Â Found a large group celebrating the birthday of one of the regulars however I was welcomed just the same. Â Lovely woman with short brown hair, friend of younger of the two buxon blonde bartenders, offered me the barstool next to her. Â Hospitality in this place was off the charts. Â "what can I get ya?" Â Nice smile and eye contact. Â I'm gonna need to go back real soon just to see if the bartenders were for real or merely apparitions....!
Review Source:My old friend Mark and Trudy (formerly of JB's in Grand Terrace) teamed up to acquire and improve this longstanding watering hole in downtown Berdoo last year. Well, the place sure looks better, starting with the signs outside, extending to the interior. Hey, they even redid the restrooms (I'm sure they needed it!).
The pool table remains, along with the basic interior setup. But it's a lot cleaner, brighter, and seems to be a much friendlier atmosphere. This place has long been known to serve a wide-ranging clientele, from truck drivers, laborers, small business owners, and legal-industry types. Hell, I've seen a few local judges there over the years, and too many law enforcement personnel to count. Now that the place has been christened "The Office" can't you just hear it now - "but honey, I' can't come home yet - I'm still at the office".
A friendly place to stop and visit with some of Berdoo's finest, (and in some cases, some of the less-finest characters).
Maybe next up will be the addition of food. I'm thinking a small steak sandwich, maybe some salads, seafood, and munchies.
Overall, a great start Mark and Trudy. The only drawback I can see is that without having a Taco Tuesday, I won't be able to bring my grandsons here - since they love Taco Tuesday!
