Grape Juice is a cute, awesome spot in Kerrville! In short: food is awesome and restaurant is cute but non-alcoholic drinks are non-existant.
The drive to west Texas is lacking in foodie joints but Kerrville is my new go to spot! Despite a few small drawbacks, the overall experience is fantastic.
The atmosphere is relaxed but hip inside with ingenious lounging and snacking areas separated with heavy curtains (brilliant) and a group of tables at the back in chic Texas style. The back patio is quaint - could use some more cushions on the chairs but it's great for enjoying the weather. They also provide a basket of blankets for cooler weather which is a nice touch.
The menu looks awesome and the dishes live up to it. I had the pulled pork tacos and they were amazing. The beer slaw and slow cooked onions, sweet BBQ sauce...heavenly. The black beans with it were bland though, despite a chipotle sauce on top. The spring berry salad was delicious too! The greens were beautiful and fresh - not the generic grocery lettuce. The dressing was light and perfect with ripe berries on top. Loved it!
The antelope sliders were good - the green goat wasn't that great (the chimichurri just seemed strange) but the bacon jam and blue cheese one was great!
The desserts sounded promising but I didn't have room to try - bacon chocolate brownie or strawberry cream cheese cobbler.
A few things were frustrating there. They don't have non-alcoholic drinks listed anywhere and when I inquired about some, our server was less than helpful, only saying "We're out of lemonade today." While they are a beer and wine place, the good food is bound to bring in non-drinkers and with such creativity on the food, some drinks would be great too.
Also, I'd love it if they made a slider tasting trio; they have three kinds of sliders and three to a plate - wouldn't it make sense to allow new visitors to try all of them?
Flies on the back patio are ridiculous. It's irritating to swat all through your meal so some simple fly traps would also be a major improvement.
Definitely recommend Grape Juice as my meal was fantastic and I can't wait to return!
P.S. No actual grape juice or soda is sold here. Grape soda and vanilla ice cream is a great combo - call it a Purple Cow and sell it here! Would be a hit! :)
LOVE IT!!!!!!
Wife and I ate there June 8th
Our server was awesome and informative. Do not remember his name but did say he grew up in Ohio I think.
App was Cabrito Chili.... Yum!!!
Meals was Crawfish tacos and Antelope Sliders.
Tacos would have been  on point but they was way over cooked and very tough. No! we did not complain as we seldom do when we first visit a place due to not knowing whether we will get some "special service" to our food upon it being replaced.
Don't misunderstand this review.... this place is a excellent place to go. Great ambiance and service was top notch.
The sliders .....well lets just say we could eat them everyday OMG!
In short we are world travelled foodies, He's a gourmet trained chef and she loves exotic foods. We have found  new place to visit often.
Only lacking we found was place needs a liquor license.
;)
Grape Juice is by far my favorite place for libations back home. I rarely have the food, but that's cause I usually come late at night when the kitchen is closed, not cause it's not delicious . I have had the curry chicken salad, edamame, crackeroni and cheese, among other things, and everything has always been amazing. Although it's pricey, it's definitely worth it.
I usually go during reverse happy hour, which means discounted beer at the end of the night. The staff is great and will let you sample them; they have such a wide variety you may have a hard time deciding. I love that they have local beer as well as fancy schmancy stuff from other places in the country. The sangria is my favorite wine selection, and since my palate hasn't really experienced more than whatever comes from in a cardboard box, the servers are great at making recommendations for you.
The seating is awesome, both inside and outside. The inside has nice little semi private sections with curtains, as well as more open tables next to the patio. The patio is my favorite, though. Filled with lights, tables, benches, heaters, blankets, it's the perfect place to drink beer or wine in the evening.
I love GrapeJuice!! The draft beer selection is always surprising and varied and I'm always glad to see what they have new on tap. Â I've filled my growler here with both beer and with their sangria which goes perfect with some Sprite/7Up while tubing.
They have a full wine shop and the owners are super knolagable as is most of the staff. Bottles in every price!
I've consistently been disappointed with the food. Not that it is bad, it just isn't good. Â It is always just almost amazing. I'll keep trying.
Did I mention the back porch with snuggely blankets or the always changing beautiful art?
WHEW! What a relief Grape Juice is to the sleepy town of Kerrville, TX. I come to Kerrville about once every other month or so to visit my husbands family ranch but we usually kick-it out there, grilling and what-not, which is fantastic but a girl's got to get out of the country sometimes. So when we came across this little gem in Kerrville, I was ecstatic! While I had to opt-out of my normal vodka-soda for their seasonal Wild Hard Cider, I was actually very thrilled. The inside is very cozy, the waiter brother and sister that were there that day were very pleasant and attentive and the food is good as well. I had the smoked salmon sandwich and caeser salad which is my go-to food when not in the mood to try extraordinary things like antelope sliders. However, their menu seems very interesting and during my next visit, I may become a little more adventurous. Bodabing bodaboom!
Review Source:Jared was such a very friendly and nice guy. Very informative on the  wine and the beer (20)  great selection. Too bad they didn't have any local wines. Crab cakes are good, kind of small. But very tasty. From the time we walked in the door to the time we left we felt welcome and we had a great time.
Review Source:Crab cakes? Check. "Crack"eroni and cheese? Check. Craft brews? Check.
I came here the night before the Kerrville Triathlon with a large group of triathletes. And let me tell you, we triathletes loooove our pre race meal. Now, that doesn't mean pasta these days; it means a balanced meal that is lighter, with lots of protein and veggies ( and juuuust enough carb). Â These days, a pre race meal is not about quantity - it's about quality, all the way.
And quality we got! I think you know what I ate based on my first line, but the assortment of everything else on the menu was great. Out of a group of about 15.. Everyone loved it. That's crazy! It was an impressive visit, and I have a new favorite place in Kerrville.
Great little find for when I was passing through the area. Â Great wine and beer selection, decent prices. Â Wish the bartenders were a bit more talkative with the out of towner. Â Some of the locals stepped in with suggestions and history of the area. Â Loved my burger and freshly made pork rinds. Â If I'm back in the area, I'm coming back.
Review Source:So little by little this place has worked it's way back into my heart. Â To be fair, they have the best beer selection in town so I knew I couldn't stay mad forever. Â Temptress. Â The staff is super helpful and the food has definitely stepped up. Â The babbs sliders are top notch and the chicken pizza is a favorite and finally, an incentive program for regulars who like to take home jugs of beer. Â The sixth one is free! Â I don't like to brag but my husband and I were the first ones to reach the goal. Â Grape Juice, I know we've had our differences but I have fallen back in love with you and your staff. Â Sexy Chest, Ex-handlebar mustache guy, Â and Modern Beatnik dude who hates abbreviations, thank you for adding some charm and pizazz to this town.
Review Source:I WISH YOU WERE IN HOUSTON!!
I just loved this place. Â Found it on Yelp, of course! (Cause we know you're not gonna be found if you're not on Yelp!) Â Just passing through this little town on our way to camp & climb/
I just have nothing bad to say about this place. Â Great food, Great Service, and Great Atmosphere! Â Do you need anything more? Â Oh yeah - wine and beer to go!! Â The wine guy was so awesome he even let us sample a few bottles before buying them!!
Next time we're in the area - we will be back!!
Atmosphere: Â 5 stars
Service: Â 5 stars
Food: 5 stars
Theres a huge wine and beer selection, heart of downtown, blah blah blah
How about the bad things about gj:
Sometimes there is a crappy live artist playing on the patio playing guitar and in between songs whines about americana music or the economy.
Start chatting with the bartender and he'll spill his guts about how he misses his girlfriend or how Lex Luger was a terrible human for what he did.
Not exactly a laundry list of problems but hes the real deal, grape juice siphons off all the cougars in kerrville who dont want the loud horrible music at all the other bars and want to be classy.
So you want to go hunting bro? Go to cougar juice.
Prices on both food and wine are reasonable.....
They have a really cool old walk in fridge/freezer behind the bar......I wish the waiter knew more about its history.....
Lettuce Wraps $8 - Crazy good....the best word I could think of to describe the lettuce was "luxurious". Â I'm sure this sounds silly, but I'm telling you that this lettuce was the softest, most inviting lettuce I have ever seen..someone could make shirts out of this stuff!
The contents of the wraps were equally as good....nice spice level, not too hot....meat quality was top notch.
There aren't many places like this in Kerrville, so even if you don't care for wine, check it out for the food.
The Antelope Nachos: Â Blah. Â The meat was ground and you couldn't differentiate it from ground beef. Â The entire dish was too salty.
The Quail tacos: Â Pretty darn good! Â Quail was a little over cooked.
The Shrimp and Grits: Â Grits much better than the shrimp and the Spinach was very tasty.
Overall, an acceptable meal.
Looking to try a new beer or wine? This is your Kerrville "go to" spot.
The lunch menu is varied and changes around. Sandwiches, soups, sliders, salads and a few other odds and ends along with desserts. Their macaroni & cheese dish is called "crack-eroni" for good reason. You'll be addicted!
The ambiance also changes as the art on the walls is a rotating gallery of local artists.
This trendy beer and wine bar seems out of place in Kerrville. Let's face it; I grew up in this town and good old Kerrville lacks a decent nightlife. Grape Juice has a great atmosphere, with intimate booths, cool decor featuring local artists' work, and an outdoor porch.
The food is pretty good too. They have lunch specials and wine specials. YUM.
This place is probably the best lunch spot in Kerrville; affordable, delicious, and conveniently located. I'm a sucker for their Mac & Cheese (with bits of ham and tomato) served with a side caesar salad. The portion size is perfect for lunch! They've also got a really great Mediterranean Pasta. I haven't had a chance to take advantage of their extensive wine/beer selection yet, as I usually only visit during lunch but make no mistake about it, I plan to make a dinner stop next time I'm in Kerrville!
Review Source:Grape Juice is one of my favorite stops when I'm in Kerrville. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back. The food is fresh and creative without being fussy. My new favorite menu item is the mango-melon salad- perfect for the hot Texas weather. Their antelope nachos and sliders are delicious too.
Most of their wine selections are less than $25/bottle and they have an impressive selection of beer. The staff is friendly and happy to provide tastes to help you make a beverage choice. Be sure and try Daryl's sangria!
During an escape from a stay at a local ranch, my boyfriend, his parents (a foodie and a homebrewer) and I found this lovely little place in Kerrville. We loved the place.
We tried wine, beer and the light food. They had some hard to find -- and delicious -- beers, and the satays really hit the spot.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the inside space is cute, with its own personality.
The downside: There's no view of the river despite it's proximity. The outside space is pretty unsightly during the day. They brought us the wrong dipping sauce -- it was still delicious but, to the expert palate, it didn't pair correctly with the meat.
This place is a gem! Â Thanks Yelp folks! Â We were only in Kerrville for one night, and were definitely in the mood for some good brews and good wine. Â They don't carry the big brews like Miller, Coors, Bud... only craft brews and a few imports.
This place was perfect. The bar staff is super nice. Â We go up to the Bandera/Kerrville area a lot, and we'll definitely go back!
Side note, they also sell wine for retail.
Finally, a local place in Kerrville with good food that's great to hang out at.  Everything we have had has been excellent.  Favorite are the lamb lollipops.  Waitstaff is helpful and knowledgeable.  Nice selection of reasonably priced wines and beers.  My one nit - they serve red wine at  Kerrville room temperature (72 degrees).
Review Source:Grape Juice sure has moved up quickly! When they originally opened in Ingram it was just a little wine shop with a sort of lackadaisical "if we're here - come on in, if were not - come back later" mindset. Then they opened up a wine bar upstairs and expanded their selection of wines and bottled micro-brews. In 2009 they opened in their current location on Water St. in downtown Kerrville as a full-fledged restaurant serving lunch and dinner and the best Saturday brunch in town! Live music on the patio is always a plus - check their website for details. Don't forget they are closed Sunday and Monday.
The service is impeccable every time. They are all very knowledgeable about their menu so don't hesitate to ask your questions. The ambiance is fabulous and arguably the most comfortable, welcoming and clean establishment in town.
The good -
Very accesible
Ample parking in the lot or the old SPMH garage
HUGE wine selection
+/- 20 beers on tap
No coors light here, folks (actually they do have a few domestic "mega brews" for you non-adventurers)
Service
Great food
Atmosphere
Most items are very reasonably priced
The bad -
Gets REALLY busy on weekends
Such a great place to spend an afternoon or evening!
