I get the idea, and I appreciate the attempt at a different approach, it's just that the execution is underwhelming.
They explained to me that the point is that they're going for a "Coffee House" feel as opposed to a coffee shop. Â They want you to come in talk with the people there and make friendsies. Â OK, that's fine. Â But when they make that their sole purpose, that seems awkward. Â I asked for an iced drink. Â They didn't have ice. Â I asked for it to go, indicating that I was not there to stay. Â They told me they'd have to go over to the store and buy to go cups. Â So I had to wait for them to leave the store, get the stuff, come back, then make the drink and then take it to go. Â It's just not customer oriented.
The place really feels like a bar. Â And although I have no issue with the place, since it's coffee and not alcohol, I don't frequent bars, and so I feel... out of place...
The coffee was fine, so I can't be too hard on them, but when I feel that they want to follow their narrow little plan, and not cater to all possible coffee drinkers, it does not make me want to come back.
Moving on...
