The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts

The theater itself is beautiful, the shows are always good, and parking is easy and relatively inexpensive. There is very little leg room and the seats are a little small...something I can deal with when everything else is good.

My big issue with the theater are the ushers. They don't think twice about standing in front of you in the middle of a show to check out people's tickets and direct them to their seats. Obviously, not the fault of the ushers when people come in late...but at least stand off to the side and seat people between scenes or songs.

I'd rather drive somewhere else than spend all sorts of money on a ticket just to wind up with usher block my view repeatedly.

I went to see BB King recently and I have to say it was the worst professional concert I have ever attended. The sound system periodically screeched and hummed constantly.  BB King barely played...instead he seemed to be stalling with a long monologue that we couldn't hear because the microphone wasn't working.   It took about 10 minutes of the crowd yelling before anything was done...even then it was still difficult to understand...Then, after only about 3 songs, he led a sing-along of "You are my Sunshine" (w/o singing or playing himself)... for another good 10 minutes... And, Oh yeah - the balcony seats Row D were so close together that at 5'6", my knees were pressed against the seat in front  of me. I left with a splitting headache.

I went to the BB King concert last week.  Sitting in row L of the balcony, we had no leg room at all.  My friend and I are short and yet we had to sit sidewys?  BB King was not able to be heard and people yelled for over 10 minutes before anything was done.  Even then, his Mike wasn't loud enough to hear him well and he was drowned out by the band.  Sad when you see people leave early.  A rotten venue
