Healdsburg Bar and Grill made the perfect ending to a nice afternoon of wine tasting. I was drawn in by the huge outdoor dining area. Eating in the warm evening under the lit up patio was perfect ambiance. The mac and cheese, truffle french fries, and salmon gyro were all delicious. I was disappointed that they no longer have the olive oil pound cake that was on the menu, but given the quality of the rest of the dinner, it was a place worth visiting again!

Not the best meal I have had. I ordered the rueben which was dripping in grease. The service was not on par either since no one came back to ask if the meal was ok. The fries were good though. The manager did ask if I enjoyed it after taking the dishes away. It was not the worst meal but not somewhere I would eat again.

Our server Chris, was ADORABLE!  His suggestions for our drinks were spot on.  I had a hops sour drink with ginger and it was really good.  For dinner I had the house made Falafel with a yummy yogurt dressing. So tasty.  I would definitely eat there again.  The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was perfect.

Why I come to Healdsburg Bar & Grill:
    - Outdoor patio
    - Great for groups of all sizes
    - Convenient location downtown
    - Solid food choices (chopped salad, pulled pork, and chicken sandwich)
    - Pickles!!

It's note the best food in Healdsburg and sometimes the service is a little slow and inattentive. But all in all, a good experience.

A lot of people seem to be raving about this place but I can't say there was anything memorable. Food was okay and service was adequate.

Granted, we came here as a pre dinner meal. Having made reservations at Baci Cafe for later that evening, we dropped by here and only ordered from the appetizer menu.

We were seated in the outdoor area which was great as the sun went down, a cool breeze began to picked up so it made for a pleasant dining experience.

    Food:
    Spicy Buttermilk Battered Chicken Wings
    Sloopy Joe Sliders
    Ceasar Salad
    Adult Mac & Cheese
    Basket of Garlic Fries

Everything tasted ordinary. The only thing that was 'good' was the garlic fries but you really can't distinguish these from any of the other places that serves them. Overall, just a mediocre experience.

I see a running theme of horrible service here. I've come to the point where I will walk out if before I am even seated I have received crappy service. I mean of we can't even get to the table from the front door smoothly how's the rest of place operating.

We waited up front too long as the entire staff turned and looked at us as we walked in. Then continued to watch us as we waited. Nope, ain't no body got time that Sh@t!

    Leave now!

Huge mistake coming here for lunch. Came with 3 adults & 2 kids. The food selection was like 5 menu items, only 1 of which might have been grilled?! Food was tasteless and way over priced.

The worst part about this place was the service!!!!! We had the worst server ever! He was rude, in-attentive, and had a flat affect making us feel like we were a burden. 1 dinner was inedible and luckily a manager took it off the bill.

We were visiting with family & will never come back here. Very disappointed b/c it has great outdoor seating. Maybe it's the right place for drinks? Although they were outrageously priced too...

I have 2 words for you.

    TRUFFLE FRIES

They were delicious, thin, crisp with shaved Parmesan.  Oh - and truffle oil.

Good place to watch a game, hang at the bar.  Good beer selection.

First visit to Healdsburg Bar and Grill. They appear to have a nice following and were full this past weekend Memorial Day holiday. Nice location near downtown square and outside sitting pretty good. The service was attentive considering the coverage. We ordered a hamburger too well done, chicken sandwich, and truffle fries. Fries were good and served hot! Chicken sandwich was pretty good. The server was very nice when we alerted her to the well done burger. She removed from our bill without question.

Super spot. Good beer selection, nice menu. My burger was cooked perfect. Also have a mean milk shake. We eat out on the patio today. Great service

I've been HBG on a few occasions and really like the easy-going atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and the service is good - I've never experienced a long wait or messed-up order - etc. The food itself is very tasty - love their burger, and the fries are the best around IMO Also a good spot for watching sports - plenty of high quality TVs in the bar

Not impressed. Ordered a Burger and was told tomato was extra and not included. Come on $10 for a cheeseburger and NO tomato? We wanted a salad but were not interested in a "Kale" cesar salad. When I asked for a traditional Cesar with romaine was told no can do. It was also very hot with no A/C inside.

They comped the cost of the burger which was very nice but I would not return.

I've been to HBG twice now and have been happy both times. Previously was a few years back, and I ordered their portobello burger. Not sure if it's still on the menu. Came back again last night on a warm spring night. We sat on the patio and it was the perfect ending to our night. Service was decent, no complaints really. Food was good. I ordered their falafel, which was good. I ate the whole thing, but it definitely wasn't something to write home about. Their truffle fries were amazing! I would go back just for those.

I liked their beer on tap selection, and the vibe of the place, which was mostly relaxed and enjoy life.

I will come back to HBG again.

Very good food, beer wine and service. No pretentious BS to contend with. The burger says it's juicy and that's an understatement. The sweet potato fries are great as is the tuna pita.

Four stars for the Fresh Fish in the fish and chips! So good and a huge serving. Well done!

Negative stars for the server not knowing if the fish was fresh and having to go ask the chief... (come on, really?). And for there being some weird thing in the burger that made my boyfriend stop eating it mid way through. He wouldn't tell me what it was, but I'm assuming it was like.. some fat or hard part  or something.

Beer goooood. Moscow Mule, ok. Needs to come in a copper mug. Buy some please!

First time here and I loved it. Small menu but terrific food. We tried the fried bacon (yes, it is delicious), beet salad (will order this again), burger (cooked perfectly) and parmesan truffle fries (yummy). Recommend for casual lunch or dinner. Also, if the weather is nice, they have a large outdoor seating area which is a plus.

Great happy hour menu, no corkage fees.  My friend couldn't stop talking about their burgers, and she loves their pickles.  I ordered their fish & chips due to Lent since we visited on a Friday.  Our sons played in their huge backyard and ran around the place carefree.  This place is kid-friendly and excellent customer service.  Our friendly waitress kept checking on us, and my son's refill of Sprite.  The margaritas were delicious with good quality tequila.  As it approached sundown, a table of older ladies next to us hogged two heat lamps for their table, selfish.  The wait staff noticed the unclassy maneuver and physically moved a heat lamp over to us, great customer service and alertness!  I love this place, and we will be back.  I must return every so often to pickup our wine shipments from LaCrema next door - talk about convenient.

After 6+ hours of drinking red and white wines and listening to a bunch of wino snob talk of "blah blah ,this region, blah blah, this apricot hint, blah blah, this kind of grape, blah blah"... HBG's $8 Moscow Mule, one of my favorite cocktails, was refreshing and delicious!

HBG Burger is pretty good, but after adding cheese its $10, and that doesn't include any fries.

It gets loud in here! Try to sit in the middle of the table if you want to talk to everyone in your 6+ group. :)

DELICIOUS Reuben, genius bacon chips, and perfect shoestring french fries!
I like the sports bar atmosphere and the quick delivery of food from kitchen to table.
Nice place to grab a bite with good friends or make new ones while watching the Superbowl.

I have eaten here a number of times during the football season as it is the only bar in town open at 10AM for NFL games.  Decent beer selection, very friendly & curtious staff.    The food is OK.  Burger patties are frozen, which is disappointing.  I think the Reuben is the best sandwich they have.
It always annoys me though when a sandwich or burger does not automatically come with fries...

Good, not great, pub food. Good beer selection.  Meager wine selection. Hard liquor available. Servers are casual.  Atmosphere is sports pub. Paper napkins, crappy silverware. Cheap glassware. Bare wooden tables, no linen. Several TV's showing non-stop sports events.

If you're a tourist expecting the high end Healdsburg dining experience, this is not the place.  If you want a burger & a beer - This is THE place in town.

HBG is a frustrating place. As a local, it's nice to have a "dependable" place to recommend to people who are just looking for a burger or simple sandwich. But I feel like HBG coasts waaaay too much on having a nice patio and a prime corner location. Here's why I give it two stars:
    1. The food is usually OK. That's it, just OK and "usually". For the prices and the fact that every little thing is an extra "upsell", I don't think the value is there.
    2. The menu NEVER changes. Always the same selection of stuff, and it's become kind of a joke with locals.
    3. I've had some really inedible food there -- a "fresh vegetable salad" with so much mayo and goop in it, on top of limp veggies, it was shockingly bad. On another visit, the "house made falafel" tasted like someone who had never actually had good middle eastern food trying to mimic the flavors but in a soggy, confused sandwich thingy. A pale imitation of a real falafel, at best! On the other hand, their "cubano" and "mac and cheese" are pretty good, as are the burgers. But really....how hard is it to make  decent mac and cheese and a burger??

This place is on permanent auto-pilot, so if that's OK with you, it's a choice. But if you are a visitor to our area, you should know that there are so many other places with better food, a good patio and a more authentic wine country experience.

sat outside and it was a nice day.
Ordered the adult mac and cheese which was amazing after two wine tastings and a few more to go.
Family split the truffle fries and peppers (which could be sweet or spicy).. YUMMYness.

A nice venue not just for food and beer, but to prep your stomach for a day of drinking the Russian River Valley dry!

The food and beverage... a decent appetizer selection with a better entree selection.  They have a great menu which left me changing my order twice while the waiter took our order.  I finally landed on a bratwurst and sauerkraut.  I thought it was pretty good.  The sauerkraut had me worried at first since it didn't have the consistency I was expecting, but the flavor was pretty good.  My friend had a chicken sandwich and caesar salad, which she thought was very good.

The venue... It's near the park in the center of town which is a great location.  They also have a nice large patio area.  Though mid day I would recommend taking a look at how the sun is shining.  You may want to select a more interior table to save yourself from some sun glare.

Overall... a great place to dine, and a good start/break to your wine tasting!

The only reason I am giving 4 stars, instead of 5 is because the prices are kind of high-- but that's the price you pay when you come to a touristy town like Healdsburg.

The atmosphere is great-- the restaurant is always clean and airy, and the patio is always enjoyable too. I have always had pretty good service, although I wouldn't necessarily recommend going for lunch...you might be a little over an hour.

The food is fantastic-- my top 3 suggestions would be the mac and cheese (the best), the caesar salad, and the fish and chips. The truffle fries are decadent as well and fun to share with a group.

You definitely won't be disappointed if you go, just be prepared to spend around $15.00/person, not including alcohol. Worth it in my opinion!!

As a local, I'm at the Healdsburg Bar & Grill pretty frequently and never once have I had a disappointing experience.

You kinda rock my socks, guys.

For drinks, I recommend the cosmo or the pomegranate lemonade. The hummingbird, while unique, is also a fun choice.

For food, the BBQ pulled pork sandwich is bomb. And yes, I just said bomb.  I'm bringing it back. Also, as a Reuben lover, their Reuben is the best in Healdsburg. I promise.

With tasty drinks, delicious food and a huge outdoor to enjoy the sun, this place ticks all the boxes.

Stopped in for lunch with a group of 11.  While reluctant and a little slow to move, they eventually seated us outside as requested.  It was a classically gorgeous California afternoon so we were lucky to get patio spots.

Service was good as we had a mix of folks, including a couple of kids.  I had the falafel sandwich which came in a large portion and was quite yummy.   Everyone at the table got something different:  burgers, salmon, chicken sandwich and we all loved what we had.  A really great spot to get lunch - especially if you can sit in the sun!

We were up in Healdsburg on a recent trip wine-tasting with our friends and in desperate need of a late lunch spot.  Healdsburg Bar & Grill's patio was beautiful and very appealing on a lovely, warm afternoon so we stopped in before I consulted Yelp.  When I looked it up, I saw its 3.5 star rating which I usually consider a "Kiss of Death" rating: in my experience, 3.5 star restaurants indicate subpar food relative to its cost.

However, I must write this review to say that I thought the food and service at HBG was very good!!  The menu consists largely of sandwiches, salads and wraps alongside a few other traditional American entrees and our group had a variety of dishes that everyone was very satisfied with.  I had the falafel wrap and it was crispy, well-sauced and the vegetables on the wrap were all fresh and delicious.  It was the perfect choice.  The service was prompt and perfectly adequate.  I'd absolutely return to HBG on my next trip!

HBG is a solid place. It's a great stop if you're starving and want casual bar food. The server is incredibly friendly, and the food was good!

My main issue with the place is that they seem pricey for what you get. They totally skimp on the burgers. $8.50 gets you the bun, a meat patty, lettuce, and garlic aioli. Want tomato? That slice will cost you $.75. Cheese is extra, too. Sheesh! And it doesn't come with any sides, except two slivers of pickles. (The pickles ARE pretty delicious though...) Getting the burger medium was perfect-- just slightly pink in the middle without grossing me out.

The cubano sandwich ($12) was delicious. The truffle parmesan fries ($6) were my favorite part of the meal. You must get these!

All in all a good place for charming Healdsburg but nothing out of this world.

My second time at HBG. Good brews and wine. But, the stars of the menu are the burgers...and you have to order the truffle oil fries to go with. By default, they cook the burgers medium, which for HBG is really red inside, so I recommend ordering it medium well for a good burger experience.

Good outside dining, but not bad inside. They seem to really care that you have a good time. Quality assurance seems to be of paramount importance as well.

    Enjoy!

I like this place. I don't love it, but I like it. I've gotten take out many times and recently dined for the first time.

What I like is that there is outdoor seating, good service, open late and there are deals on drinks.

What I don't like is that the menu is extremely limited for such a casual place, it is always noisy with kids and the food isn't amazing.

I have to say that the typical bar food is very good - burger, fries, salad etc... But the other items are so so. The mac and cheese is made with four cheeses including bleu cheese which I didn't think would be a big deal, as I can tolerate it. However, it tasted like all bleu cheese which made the dish seem quite rancid. I've had the pulled pork which isn't as good as mine, or others I had at various restaurants.

All in all, it's a good place for a casual meal, especially if you want to eat outside. Just don't expect to be blown away.

I was in last weekend for a quick bite to eat and had to follow up with a review.  HBG is great!  I would absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a good quick bite and maybe a drink in Healdsburg.

Try the burger!! It's soooo good! The servers are really friendly too.  I didn't have to wait for a table, the check came right away and the prices were more than fair for the area.

The spot for the best burgers in town! Found this while touring Sonoma with family in town and fell in love with this place. Outdoor seating is yummy on warm days/ evenings. Crowd is chill (Healdsburg is sooo charming) and the food is so delish. The burgers are so juicy, and topped with all kinds of goodies. You have to ask for the extras you want, makes it a pricy burger but a good splurge. Cheese is a white cheddar that is sooo creamy, the bacon is out of this world, and the heriloom tomatoes (when they are in season) are good with a lil salt eaten on the side. Pickles are yum.  With local products they create a burger lovers dream on a plate. Fries are thin cut and salted perfectly.

Food 4 stars! Service 2 stars, if that.

The last few times we went, the service was a little disappointing and went downhill with our trip. Our app never came out, we had to ask twice for water refills and were neglected most of the evening. The manager even noticed we did not look pleased and things picked up after that, but it was too late to erase the experience. I would give it another shot because the burgers are that good and location is nice. They should really take better care picking good staff to match the quality they offer.

Good burgers which are skimpy on the fixings, but have a good flavor to them. Friend got the Cubano sandwich which looked pretty damn good too. Try the truffle oil fries (a basket is good for the table.)

Nice alternative to Bear Republic on a pleasant day when you can sit out in the sun.

After hitting up six wineries around Healdsburg, HBG hit the spot.  More than a few of the wineries we went to recommended HBG and told us we couldn't possibly leave town without trying their parmesan fries.  HBG was perfect--we weren't in the mood for anything too fancy--just a standard meal that wasn't too pricey.

My husband had the burger with parmesan fries and I had the battered cod with plain fries.  The cod was delicious but could have easily fed 4 people.  Also, the fries here (both plain and parmesan) are perfect.  Thin, crispy and light on the oil.  I doubt I'd go back here again though.  The food was great and the service was good too but at the end of the day HBG is just an average grill serving standard American fare.  There's too many places in Healdsburg to explore to make this place a mainstay.

I've been here many times over the years and always had an okay or even pretty good meal. The salads are good, I will admit. But the past few times I have gone, my meals have been...well.....gross. My Mom and I went last weekend, she had the fish and chips and I ordered the falafel. The falafel was NASTY. I mean, horribly bad. The pita-esque bread it was on was really thick and doughy (almost uncooked in the middle) and weirdly soggy. The falafels were, though not burned, very overdone. The "yogurt sauce" they put on top tasted like straight mayonnaise. I ate two bites of it before the whole soggy mess completely fell apart and I gave up, disgusted.

My Mom ordered the fish and chips, which LOOKED great. But the breading on her fish was soggy and the fish inside was cold and under cooked. When she poked at the breading with her fork, it bounced back like a sponge. Gross.

I told the server about the falafal and her response was "Yeah, it's definitely not my favorite menu item, either." My Mom did not say anything about the fish because complaining makes her nervous (but a better server might have noticed she didn't eat much of it...). When the bill came she charged us full price for everything!

I am certainly NOT the type of person to order food and then complain about it to get a free meal. But if the food is unedible, why should I have to pay for it??? And if it is obvious that I did not eat it and SAID something about it, I feel the server should have  offered something else or at least a discount.

I will not be back. The food is just too risky. I don't want to pay $9 for a sandwich (that does NOT include a salad or fries) just to leave hungry. .

After wine tasting all morning, my girlfriend and I decided to check out downtown Healdsburg/Healdsburg Square. We were starving after wine tasting and it had been awhile since we had breakfast. Walking around the plaza/square, we looked at a few different restaurants but decided we wanted something grubby to suffice our starving stomachs. I saw Healdsburg Bar & Grill and suggested it because I knew bar food would definitely be what were looking for.

We sat at the bar since there was a bit of a wait and we didn't mind sitting at the bar -for casual meals I actually enjoy sitting at the bar, it's a bit more fun sometimes!

The bartender who was working (can't remember his name) was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the Corn Dog Bites, Fries w/Truffle Oil, Veggie Burger, and Cubano. As for drinks, I had their Moscow Mule which was okay. As another Yelper mentioned, the menu has some interesting options - corn dog bites and fries with Truffle Oil being some of them (which led me to order them!). When I saw corn dog bites on the menu, I was excited - kid food but spruced up into a more 'fancy' version. The dish was interesting - Chorizo Sausage and batter tasted GREAT on their own, but I'm not sure if I liked the combination - I think I would have liked it better with some 'fancier' version of a regular hot dog.

Fries w/Truffle Oil were yummy - a bit too salty, but the combination was good. I liked the aroma of Truffle Oil with each bite. My Veggie Burger sucked - not sure what kind of patty they use, but the burger was very boring and blah - a simple Garden Burger patty would have been better.

Overall, this is a fun restaurant, but food wise, it is your typical bar food - filling, heavy, fatty, and okay tasting. I like that they have a spin on their menu options and regardless of the okay food, it sufficed our craving for grub food.

Worst service ever.  It's like the owner took the obnoxiously omnipresent "service" from her other restaurant, Cyrus, and decided HB&G needed to be 100% different -- with service that oscillates between incompetent and inattentive.

In our experience, we were three diners, who were asked to wait 10-15 minutes for a table.  We watched several groups of four come in after us (also w/o reservation), and yet get seated before us -- at the same 4-person tables we would get, since there are no "3-person tables".

After this excessive time (30-40 minutes, and now too late to go anywhere else) and hassle, the red-headed manager assured us he would "make it up to us".  I have to assume that meant "take our order and serve our food as slowly as possible", because diners who were still seated after us were served sooner.

What did he do in our favor, in actuality?  Nothing.

Came here with the family on a late Sunday afternoon.  Great ambiance--lots of energy with the different sporting events on the big screen.  The server was really helpful and very attentive.

I ordered the adult mac and cheese (really creamy and cheesey--perfectly done!), my Mom got the pulled pork sandwich, my Dad got the burger and my brother ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich.  Everyone was satisfied with their orders.  Have to say, the chicharones appetizer plate was unique.  So light!  The buffalo wings were pretty good as well.

The diversity of the menu and drink offerings makes Healdsburg Bar & Grill a great place to dine.  The nightly dinner specials are also probably worth checking out too!
