I will NEVER go back here. Went with my mom because we like to check out Irish Pubs. We were both very disappointed. The inside was nice and it had a good atmosphere. We both ordered Guinness mixed drinks (one with cider and one with Smithwicks). The drinks were delicious, definitely satisfied with the overall drink menu.  We both then ordered burgers, (the sign outside advertised having "the best burgers in town!") I ordered mine medium and my mom ordered hers medium-well. My burger came back RAW, and my mom's not done in the middle at all. I couldn't eat the burger because it was completely raw throughout, with just a sear on the outside. My mom could only eat around the middle. As we finished "eating" the couple behind us sent back their burger back TWICE. Will never go back unless someone invites me for a free drink.

Ok, now that I've seen a couple of sides to Hibernia, I figured it was ok to review.  First time I went, it was a busy Saturday night and the place was packed.  There was no room at the bar or seats in the dining area.  There was a band playing and it semi-tough to chat with friends...also hard to get an order in at the bar.  If I were there with a huge group or to enjoy the band, it would've been fun, but we weren't into standing shoulder to shoulder amidst a crowd of strangers, struggling every now and again for drinks at the bar.  However, I did want to come again on a weekday and try Hibernia's food.  We came back on a Monday night and ate in the lower room as a jazz band played beside us.  My husband's fish & chips were cooked just the way he likes them, not overly breaded.  Our other friends got chicken or turkey tips and something else that I can't remember...both enjoyed them.  I ordered the chicken piccata off the specials menu.  While it was good chicken & sides, it lacked the piccata.  Didn't taste lemony at all and no capers to be found on the plate, leaving the taste somewhat bland.  Our waitress was very nice, as was the band, Dog House.  She had a nice sense of humor and checked on us often.  The band members thanked us for listening and invited us back...we will come again.

Went  there  a week ago Monday for the music and a late dinner. As always the musicians Mario, Eddie and Randy were awesome, with Joe sitting in ,Wish I could say the same for the food. I ordered the shepherds pie and my wife a burger. The shepherds pie reminded me of canned chili with a blob of mashed tossed in for good measure. The burger was OK though a little sad looking, fries were limp and cool.
Makes me miss my old Monday haunt in Hyde Park more than ever(Townsend's)
this place gave Irish pubs a good name.
On the positive side they have a decent selection of beer, could kick that up a notch, but still OK
Staff were friendly, prices cheap enough it didn't hurt.
