After finding out the Charlie Horse had a private party for the Super Bowl (what?) we headed down 138 and decided we'd check out the first logical location. Â This was it and we stayed. Â Although the crowd was minimal and dewindled to just a few people by end of the game, the owner and his staffed showed us a great time. Â Complimentary jello shots after scores and a great selection of new beers. Â The food was good. Â We had started with the Portugesse Egg Rolls - very good.... The Chipolte Honey Wings - exceptional. My friend had a pizza and really enjoyed it. Â I had the Whole Clam special and regreated the decision. Â The clams were too heavily breaded and were over cooked. Â The fries - blah. Â Still - we had a good time and would visit again sticking to some of the other praised food.
Review Source:After the Flying Dog reopened the doors of the previous Centerfield's then Surly Johnson's, I was convinced that it would suffer the same fate as its predecessors. Â A couple of months in, word began to spread in my neck of the woods that the place was much cooler inside & the food was even worth the trip. Â We finally made our way to the Flying Dog with friends one night for dinner & drinks and I'd have to say that I agree. Â Everyone enjoyed their meals...burgers were huge & someone's shrimp scampi, I think it was, had to be taken home as leftovers it was so delicious. Â There are many drink choices & beers on tap. Â Pricing was ok. Â We were just saying the other day how we have to get back here for another round sometime soon. Â Hope the Flying Dog can stick it out...maybe 3rd time really is a charm?
