Great service for drinks and good venue to meet friends/colleagues. The televisions are huge and make it easy to catch any game,

I grew up in San Antonio and this indoor/outdoor sports bar was so spacious and beautiful. The staff was friendly and I would love to give this place five stars, but we wanted to sit and drink and have some appetizers during a spurs game.  I know what the spurs fans are thinking "no way you get a table" yes I agree to accommodate a big group like that takes preparation, however if you haven't been updated on your status after 2.5hrs you should have been.

Went here after a spa day here at the JW.  Like everyone else said, the big screens are great (although I imagine they are better/more clear at night).  Great place to watch sports.  I had the spinach salad (yeah...trying to be healthy before ordering the dessert).  My friends were all happy with their meals as well.  We got the brownie dessert, with ice cream on top.  OMG.  I LOVE chocolate dessert, but it's only worth it if it's super delicious.  THIS was totally worth it. I"ll be back and I'll order this dessert every time--and this is bad because I only live a couple minutes away from this place!!

Big Screens and they showed the Redskins game.  Good food, good service, but the manager kept switching the screens on the game I was watching, so he must not be a football fan.

Fun spot in a limiting handful of dining options near the JW Marriott Hill Country (if you don't have a car on-site). Generally, however, the TVs are better than the food.

Over the course of a few days, my favorites were the calamari appetizer (very nicely cooked, not chewy) and the fish tacos.

Duds were the seared tuna salad, which had virtually no remnants of a dressing to add flavor, and had sort of a weird salad-on-top-of-a-salad concept. The brownie sundae dessert was also just average and not piping hot.

High end sports bar in the lovely JW Marriot resort.  Plenty of tv action.  Stick with chicken strips (awesome) and if you are not from TX get yourself a Shiner Beer...it's a Texas thang, homie!

WOW!  I can't say enough about the projection screens - TOTALLY awesome!

The service is really good and the food is great.  the only reason I am keeping them at 4 stars is because of the prices.

I can frankly not remember being in such an opulent sports bar screaming at the TV for a good hour and a half willing on my boys in blue to victory.  I was staying at the resort and we ventured into the bar after we checked in for a Bloody Mary.  We were greeted by a prompt and smiling Liz.  She was very attentive and fun to hang with.  We ordered the Calamari which was some of the best we have had.  And the Mary's were on point and spicy, she asked how spicy we wanted to have them made.  The next day I wandered in while the wifey went for her spa day.  I settled down and had a couple of beers with Suzi.  Suzi was as awesome as Liz.  Very friendly, attentive, funny and very personable.  She provided me with great service and the manager on duty was equally interested in my well being.  He noticed my Chelsea shirt and we talked about footie and all things premiere league related.  He is a Liverpool fan and I had mentioned that the wife and I were going to head back to Austin to catch the Chelsea game at 10am.  He said he would be happy to open up at 10am and put the game on for us if we stayed.  Mr. Cunningham was indeed the icing on the cake as far as we are concerned with High Velocity.  We got there early this morning and was greeted by a smiling Suzi welcoming us back and we were able to watch the entire game at our leisure.

They were setting up for the Superbowl today, which looked like they would be packed for.  There are TV's all over the place and the massive ribbon HD TV as well and a projection wall made up of 16 40inch plasma's.. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in San Antonio!  Absolutely one of the best sports bars I have ever had the pleasure to watch Chelsea in...

Looked for a high enery bar to watch the World Series in San Antonio, where we 40+ers could go....not a lot to choose from.  We hit a good one here.  Intense viewing opportunities....mediocre food.  All in all, an experience I'd go back to!

I'm not sure where one would procure such a television set; you have to see it to believe it; it stretches from one end of the place to the other.

Now, for the food, I had a cheese burger and fries. It was good, but overpriced.

For the alcohol, I drank quite a bit there, but everything I remember was good; strawberry daiquiri was good too.

Remember your mother warning you about your eyes being bigger than your stomach? Well at High Velocity that's a prerequisite. Before you even get in the door your peepers are locked in on the 120 foot HD screen that runs the length of the bar like a ribbon. From its mood lighting to its comfortable seating this place is where the modern sports fan wants to be. The menu is simple but offers a bit for everybody. My personal favorite is the cheese burger sliders.

One piece of advice, if you want to watch something on the giant panel, ask to sit with your back to the wall. If all of those seats are taken there are still plenty of screens all around the bar to see what you're interested in.

Lastly, since it is a resort there is a pretty mixed clientele. From families with kids to the single types, the crowd runs the gamut.. That said there is so much going on with the screens that you rarely notice anything else.
