Kennedy's Public House

We went here yesterday afternoon hoping for a quick drink and just to hang out with an old friend. My husband, our friend and I walked in about 2:30PM. We sat outside because it was really nice. We were unsure if we needed to order drinks at the bar or if a server would come to us. A lady walked out and asked what we wanted. I asked for a beer list and food menu. "Ugh well we don't have beer list but I can bring you a food menu." She was so awkward when she was talking to me. So then I asked her what she had on draft and it took her a second to tell us all they had. We placed our orders and waited. She brought over the menus then our beers came out shortly after. I told her we would need a second to look over the menu and so she said she would be right back.

I was starting to starve and and afternoon beverage wasn't helping my appetite. If anything it was beginning to make me hangry. We were pretty much done with our first round when she came out to see if we wanted to order food. "Um no thanks. We're actually done can you just bring our check." She stood there for a second awkward again and confused left and then came back with our check. My husband took the check and then she just stood there waiting...um hello can we take a second to even glance at the check? He gave her his card and she closed it out.

I hear people rave about this place and saw all the positive reviews. I don't know if it was because it was a Monday afternoon but I don't care what time I go to a bar if you're open I expect some decent service. Don't make me feel bad for being there and don't make me have to guide or steer you in the direction of the service I deserve.  Who knows if I'll ever go back. I honestly am not a fan of that side of San Antonio anyway. I just happen to be there visiting some friends and we decided we wanted a quick drink. Honestly I would say it was a big FAIL.

St. Patty's Week Irish Tour
Oh Kennedy's you're so far from my house. Sunday funday is ruled largely by their karaoke scene here. Which from the performers, these guys are die-hard regulars who I might see on the Voice one day.  From what I've been told the owner of this bar owns Longshotz and Conroy's. The bar was slammed pack, the bartenders up to their necks in the weeds. As usual, regulars were served first and you had about a 5-10 minute wait. It happens. Now before the smoking ban this is a "quaint" bar which would mean it would look like the firefighter's training tower by the end of the night. Now they have 1 1/2 patios, a side large patio and a table in the front of the bar. I don't know if that's for patrons or for the bouncer to chill-lax at.
Come here to be entertained by the singers, be prepared to wait for your drinks.... also, only Guinness on tap. This makes the second "Irish" bar that I've been to with only one Irish born beer on tap.

Walked in for a quick bite and catch one of the football games here. It was not crowded on MNF. I noticed a blown up picture of the Steelers stadium on the wall. SAY WHAT?! Another Steeler fan bar! I ran into a fan and he told me a group of them come here to watch the game all decked out in black and yellow. There are some characters that come through here and very entertaining to over hear some conversations. There's leather couches in the bar too, to make you feel like your in a living room lol. Besides that service was nice and friendly. Not much on the menu, but your typical bar food, the chicken strips was pretty good.
