This one is a winner for breakfast. Â There really aren't that many choices for breakfast in Crescent City. This one is so good we ate there two days in a row. Â Biscuits and gravy were excellent. Â The biscuits alone were just great, fluffy and fresh. Â Omelettes were just great and the hot cakes were giant size, covered the plate. Â Kids had plenty to eat and loved it. Â Be informed that it has an old local diner atmosphere; the locals eat there regularly, evident by the owner and patrons parting often exchanging names. Â We loved it.
Review Source:I've stopped in here for breakfast (they are also open for lunch) when traveling through over the past 5 years and they always treated me well. Fast service (not that it's super busy but they can fill up the tables quick). Hot tasty food. Nothing fancy but not too harsh on the wallet either. Once when we asked about a menu item the waitress (who is there every time) brought us out a plate on the house, which we happily devoured! Def. plan on going again next time I go through.
Review Source:The Historic Hiouchi Cafe has been a favorite food stop, especially when I stay at the Hiouchi Motel next door. I enjoy the food and feel of the small community there. It's an older establishment, but I like eating there as much as any place in the Crescent City area. They now have a website with days, hours and new phone number.
