Where else are you gonna stay in Crystal Lake? Â I remember when they built this and Crystal Lake forever changed. Â But, they are pet friendly. Â The location works well. Â The adjacent "club" is now gone, but they still have a small restaurant and bar.
I've stayed at much nicer Holiday Inns, but I'm not looking for luxury accommodations here. Â I'd raise the star rating, but let's be real - this is the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn. Â It is exactly what 3 stars says: Â A-OK
My sister and I were there for three nights (she was judging a dog show held at the hotel) and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! Room was clean and comfortable. When asked for "little extras" i.e. real creamers for in-room coffee maker vs powdered, everything was supplied. The real joy was their complimentary shuttle to area restaurants and needed "errands". Friendly driver with a "go anywhere for you" attitude who was very upbeat and adept at conversation. I would have given 5* except the food for our room service breakfast was pretty pedestrian, as is their breakfast buffet and lunch "soup and salad bar" in the on-site restaurant . All in all a very good experience.
