My son and I decided to try it after passing it many times while shopping at Raley's.
We got the appetizer combo, an order of sweet and sour pineapple chicken and veggie chow mien (soft noodles).
My son had the pot stickers and an egg roll from the combo while I had the fried wontons with the other egg roll. They were all fabulous and I was very excited to try the main dishes.
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed as both the chicken and chow mien were not very good, I won't be ordering them again. Â But the fried wontons and egg rolls, they are worth going back for.
My family and friends have been going to the Hong Kong for sixty years. My brother drove in from Colorado last night and invited me to join him at the Hong Kong. The Pork Chow Mein with it's crispy nest of deep fried noodles cannot be found anywhere else. The noodles are exceptional and it is the one thing on the menu that has people coming back, over and over. My brother is addicted to the crispy noodles. He has them sent to him in Colorado. The gal that serves most of the time has been there for thirty years. The original family sold the place seven years ago and spent a month teaching the new owners how to make the dishes they have served since opening sixty years ago. Laurie L.'s review so adequately expresses my memories and dining experiences at this restaurant.
