A definitely gem on the mtn. Great coffee and frozen yogurt. The food is pretty good too. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the awkward seating. It's an odd amount of space for the tables. Hard to explain... but it doesn't feel inviting. I usually just get my stuff and go. Â All in all it's a treat to have this place up here though!
Review Source:Loved it! Ate breakfast their this morning. I love that we were able to take our dog Monte to breakfast with us. I had the blueberry almond oatmeal. My husband had the English muffin bacon and egg sandwich which he said was great! The coffee was amazing and the atmosphere is so comfortable. Please go and support this place. I want to return for another time.
Review Source:By far the best coffee house, bakery and yogurt shop on the mountain. Only a 5-minute drive from Lake Arrowhead.
It's been really hot in Lake Arrowhead and I looked on Yelp for the best frozen yogurt shop in the area. Hot Shots is the only game in town and I'm happy to say their self-service frozen yogurt bar is fantastic. The yogurt is very tasty. It really hit the spot.
This morning I went back to Hot Shots for a muffin and coffee. Wow! Â I was blown away by the muffins. I had a blueberry AND a coffee cake muffin and they were two of the best muffins I have ever had. They were warm, moist, very fresh and extremely tasty.
I had intended to walk across the parking lot to Starbucks for some coffee but decided to give Hot Shots a chance. I was happily surprised to discover their coffee to be a nice bold-rich-dark blend, not the usual brown water blend sold at most restaurants up here on the mountain.
I can't say enough good things about Hot Shots Coffeehouse. I hope they do well!
It's no Yogurtland but like everything on the mountain...it's small, it's quaint and there's only one of them! I went solely for the fro-yo and it satisfied my craving. There are only about 8 choices (one nsa) and the toppings are minimal (or at least compared to the Southern Cali fro-yo "superstores" I frequent) but the texture was good and I always love a self-serve option. The staff was also incredibly sweet.
Review Source:I rolled into Blue Jay with a friend early this morning on our way into Lake Arrowhead and stopped at Hot Shots for a coffee. Â I really like this place. Â It's what you'd expect for a cozy, casual coffee place in the mountains. Â The coffee was great, too. Â I had 3 shots espresso over ice and loved it. Â The place is laid back and comfortable and if I wasn't on my way somewhere else, I'd stay a while. Â I enjoyed the barista's sense of humor and I wish I lived in Lake Arrowhead as this would be my daily neighborhood coffee shop. Â Oh, and, they offer serious cinnamon rolls with LOTS of icing piled on top. Â I didn't have one, but I know cinnamon rolls and I can tell they're awesome. Â As I explained to the barista, cinnamon rolls are for winter...not bikini season. Â I'll update my review in the winter. :)
Review Source:Loved this place! My husband and I are on our honeymoon and we noticed this place on yelp. We loved the atmosphere walking in and the employees behind the counter were super helpful and kind. We just ordered coffee and it was yummy (I am a coffee fanatic so it has to be pretty impressive coffee for me to acknowledge it as "yummy"). They had food and what looked to be amazingly delicious cinnamon roles, but we had just eaten so we had to pass. We plan to come back and try their food options before our honeymoon ends. Thanks again for the great experience!
Review Source:Since my husband and I have been buying frozen yogurt here for the past month or so, I realize I'm delinquent in offering a review.
We are weekly customers and sometimes stop in twice a week. My husband is a chocolate fan, so initially, I only ate a few bites of his yogurt. Then, I realized that you can make a chocolate and vanilla swirl, and now I'm hooked, too. Neither of us uses the toppings, although they have plenty of tasty options.
Everyone here is very attentive and friendly, so we'll continue to stop in regularly. I think next week it's time to try their quinoa veggie wrap for lunch. They have lots of tasty sandwiches on their menu, so perhaps we'll make a meal of it in the future.
A word of advice: buy a size bigger than you plan to eat in one sitting. This way when the late-night sweets craving hits, you'll have something yummy in your freezer.
Great little coffee house. Good food and they seemed to set themselves apart from most of the other businesses in the area. Not sure what it was, maybe the friendly service, and up to date menu. My only complaint was that it took a little while for the food. But, they were a very welcome break while we were on our way to work.
Review Source:The atmosphere is very welcoming, with music playing that is perfect for a little coffee house. My husband and I both ordered the Vanilla Latte and the breakfast sandwich (his on a croissant, mine on an everything bagel). The lattes were smooth and delicious, with a nice layer of foam on top. Our sandwiches were made fresh and piping hot, with egg, bacon, and perfectly melted cheese. Everything was delicious, I wish I had a coffee shop like this closer to home.
They also offer free wifi!
I had an early morning appointment and left my home without having breakfast. On my way to the office I remembered that i had to take my medication. Well now that meant i had to eat something quick. I did not want McD"s so I stopped at Hot Shots. Good choice. I ordered and left a very happy customer.
Review Source:Wonderful, fantastic place in Blue Jay. Super close to Arrowhead  Great food and coffee drinks. Good menu.  Local family run with all the amenities.  Recommended if you're in the area.  Yogurt selection is also very good.  Great place if you're in the area visiting and need a bite to eat or a great cup of coffee
Review Source:My girlfriends and I are up in Lake Arrowhead for a church retreat and we decided to go into town to get coffee and lunch and we found this place on Yelp. The staff was super friendly and super small town (in a good way) :-) i laughed cuz i felt so LA with my latte request, and it took him a little longer to write it down and figure out how to charge for it, but I totally didn't care cuz obviously that's not important. What was important is he (the owner i believe) was so friendly and the coffee was great AND the food was great ANNDD they had free wifi. Plenty of seating, great music that wasn't too loud and very clean. If we come back for a little vacation we are DEFINITELY coming back here!
Review Source:Coffee was very good. This place made Blue Jay a compete vacation destination by fulfilling my coffee needs. Also, I really appreciated the good customer service. The outside tables had signs saying no outside food allowed. When I asked the fellow, who may have been the owner, if my son (who has severe food allergies) could eat his own lunch- he didn't give me a hard time. While I completely understand the rules, I really appreciate his flexibility. That alone, plus the well pulled espresso, is enough to make me come back.
Review Source:Excellent food, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. I came here for breakfast with some friends and we all got the breakfast sandwich special. Just $5 for a breakfast sandwich and coffee!
The people working behind the counter (I'm assuming the owners) were very friendly and offered suggestions. All the locals there seemed to really like this place and frequent it often. Definitely will be back the next time I'm on the mountain!
We visited Hot Shots this weekend and loved it. After seeing previous reviews, we were excited to get to visit. We were immediately pleased with the atmosphere and service. We enjoyed the paintings on the wall. I loved the yogurt, and there were many toppings to choose from. Other favorites were blended caramel frappe. Unlike Starbucks, the hot shots frappe leaves a sweet vanilla aftertaste. The frappe tastes more like coffee than Starbucks which seems more like crunchy ice. If you're not a coffee fan, they also feature yogurt smoothies, sandwiches, and paninis. The macaroni cheese and bacon panini was excellent.
Review Source:THE BEST. Panini sandwiches are awesome., Â The paninis are freshly made while you watch. The panini is warm and slightly crisp and amazing. Then fold a bunch of good stuff in it and you have a meal. Â Wraps are delicious, savory and healthy. Coffee is made to order by the cup, freshly brewed and steaming. Actually everything is excellent.
Don't feel like making dinner? Stop in and order a wrap and panini to go! Add a heavenly muffin for your breakfast the next morning. Then make yourself up a small cup of yogurt with your favorite toppings, take a comfortable seat and savor your snack  while you wait for your food. You must try every item on the menu!!  Hot shots may become our Friday night dinner on a weekly basis.  This place will last in our mountain community. Hurray!!!
Sharon :)
Great coffee! Â Love the yogurt, especially the "no-sugar added". Â Your choice of toppings and I like self-serve better because I can make my yogurt concoction however I want. Â
There are excellent breakfast sandwiches too! Â Haven't tried the panini yet or the soups. Â But definitely one of my favorite places to stop by.
This is a real coffee house, in the coffee sense! Â With nice tables to meet and study, great ambiance, and the owners (who also make the coffee) like to keep coffee house music playing. Â Free wifi works great. There's even a variety of frozen yogurt and a sandwich menu. and, the best part is.... AWESOME COFFEE!! Will be back.
Review Source:This is hands-down one of the best coffee shops I have ever visited. Their teas are loose-leaf, and if you choose to stay a while you'll get your own teapot for perfect steep-age. Their coffees and espresso drinks are bold & flavorful, & the owners'/baristas' Portland-Oregon-training really shows in the quality of the drinks (and I say this as a former Portlander w/ picky coffee preferences). The staff is friendly, & the environment is conducive to both the solitary worker and large group gatherings. I only wish I lived closer so that I could be a daily patron.
Review Source:I did not expect to find a decent frozen yogurt shop in Lake Arrowhead, so I was over-the-moon when I discovered Hot Shots. It's a nice modern-style place that lets you self-serve and add your own toppings. Nice selection of flavors and toppings-- just as good as what we've got in LA. The prices aren't bad at all and there are lots of places to sit and hang out inside. Great parking, too!
