I went here with a friend to hopefully witness some of the paranormal claims that have been documented. Unfortunately, it was a rather uneventful night. I got a few pictures with bright white orbs in our room (22) but that is all. We heard walking through the halls throughout the night but assumed it to be other guests. But, it was a great night nonetheless. I only slept for 1-2 hours but the bed was comfortable, although there was a huge dirty spot on it that made it look like it had been unwashed...but I didn't care at that point because we didn't go there to sleep and i only used the bed for a short time. The building itself is so cool, I love the rustic look and feel of it. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and accommodating. In the morning we were surprised by a complimentary breakfast arrangement which included toast, pastries, bagels, cereal, coffee, and oj. I would stay here again (but not alone of course). Maybe next time I'll get to witness something more exciting in one of the rooms!
Review Source:I was a little leery once I found out that the hotel had no air conditioning and it would be over a hundred degrees when I arrived, but the swamp coolers throughout the building did the trick, and the room was slightly warm during the day but extremely comfortable. The hotel itself is fascinating, with relics from the last hundred years (including Roosevelt's signature in a guest book) and an antique organ in the hall. Since the town was tiny and there wasn't much to see, I spent a good deal of time on the patio playing guitar and hanging with the resident cat. For $45, perfect road trip lodging on the way to Yosemite.
