simply a beautiful place gorgrous view great drinks what else do you need? well how about an escape from all the screaming children at home ? thats what we came here for twice this year and both times we have had the pleasure of having the same waitress. just like the first time we watched her argue with other servers and scream at her bussers to the point of embarassment.  it was so bad the screaming that we all just put our heads down and waited to be acknowledged by management that never came. what else can you do?! the rest of the evening just was so awkward i just hesitated at everything i needed opting sometimes to not ask at all! we also were kinda let out to dry literally when two rather large parties occupied our waitresses time forgeting about us. this is what made me write this review. t he next time we come im requesting to not have her and give it one more shot. i will change my stars next time hopefully. 3 stars strictly because of food and location for now.

We were in the area and in between two events in Stony Point so we decided to stop here for a bite to eat and a cocktail. Our group was large and sometimes loud so we can be a challenge.
The front of the restaurant is set back from the parking lot which seemed enormous. Inside the lobby is cheesiest coat rack with several different style plastic and wire coats hangers (WHAT DID MOMMY TELL YOU ABOUT WIRE COAT HANGERS?) that looked like it was from my grade school gymnasium. A restaurant with a menu and price point of this caliber needs a much classier coat rack.

We sat outside on the deck despite the day being cloudy and overcast. The view of the Hudson River was amazing and watching the boats and jet skis zip up and down the river was pretty cool also. They also have a tiki bar on the deck here and several of my group sat there as well. My first look at the menu left me in a bit of a shock as the prices were a bit higher than I had expected, but everything on the menu looked delicious. Our table of six was quickly served our drinks and our food order taken quickly. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and a side of French fries and the rest of my party ordered hot wings, quesadillas and steamed clams. My shrimp cocktail came out with four sizable shrimp but they were luke warm, and not nearly as ice cold as they should be. On my very last shrimp I started to detect a more than average fish smell from them. I thought for sure I would be in the bathroom for an extended period the next morning but I was given a pass there. Thank God! My French fries were delicious and fried to perfection. They seemed to be coated with an unknown crunchiness that was amazing. My friends all enjoyed their clams, wings and quesadillas.

Our server was super attentive and a very pleasant lady. I will go back to Haverstraw just for the view and the French fries!

My Husband and I had a great meal here over the weekend!  The service was wonderful and the food was great!  After reading the other reviews we were a little skeptical about trying this place out but we were glad we did!  I ate the lobster rolls which were great and my husband had the halibut which was also very good.  Our servers (yes we had two) were very attentive and sweet, they knew the menu well and answered all questions that i had.  The only negative comment I have is there was no enough room to wait for our table, we always felt we were in the way.  I rarely take the time out to write a review but I had to for this place.  The food is good the staff is kind and the view is breath taking!  I'm definitely going back!!

First weekend of summer and my husband and I bought a new jeep so we wanted to sit on the water, have a couple of drinks and light fare.  We knew this place was nothing special when it comes to food but were extremely disappointed in the horrible service we received.  Service was slow, when I went to the bathroom and passed the service area, I could hear the wait staff bitching about the customers.  One waiter sat down to chat with a couple sitting at the table behind us and complained that that customers asked what beers they have on tap.  He thought the customer should be able to see the beer handles from "across the restaurant" and it just so happens my husband ordered tap!  Unbelievable-  worst staff ever!  The host never greeted me when we arrived and I stood there for ten minutes-  also the sangria was not made the same when I ordered a second round.  Save the drive and go somewhere else.

Besides the view the place is trashy.  The staff members are rude and the drinks are too expensive.  Conveniently built on a swamp...so the bugs are always fun at sunset.

I just celebrated my daughters wedding here with about 200 guests. The setting was magical, the night was beautiful.
Chris and Monica had everything under control, and a team of servers that did a fantastic job. The food was wonderful. We chose the food stations instead of a sit down meal to have a more informal feel to the reception. Everything was well cooked, and tasty!. I have been to many parties where, when there are large groups the food loses quality. Not so here. In fact, have friends considering this restaurant for their wedding.  I also have been here quite a few times over the past year while planning, and always had a nice lunch. Love the  spring rolls as an appetizer, they are not to be missed!

I wish I could give this place 5 stars. The location is beautiful and the drive from New York is scenic but everything else needs an improvement. The place is not cheap and they make very good pizzas but the rest of the menu is not worth the 45 minutes wait for a table and poor service. They do not take reservations for parties of less than 5, so we always end up waiting for  at least 30 minutes. Tonight we ordered Bianco Pizza for appetizer, I had Angus Burger and my husband had a Chicken Quesadilla. For some reason all food came at once in 10 minutes even before my husband's wine arrived , and was all cold. The server was nowhere to be found so we decided to eat anyways. Then we decided to have a desert, mixed berry sorbet, which we waited 20 minutes for, but the server brought a bill even before the desert was out. It is sad that such a nice place with a great potential not taken care of. It was not my first time at this place and I keep coming back for the view  hoping that this time we will get lucky with the service but it is hit or miss. I hope someone from the management will address the service issue.

My fiancé loves the waterfront so I decided to celebrate his birthday with a dinner at this establishment. It's a beautiful restaurant with a great view but our date night wound up getting rained out. Fortunately, they have an awning on the patio so the weather didn't prevent us from sitting outside. Seeing how it was a slow night, we were a bit disappointed with the slow service but the food saved the night. I ordered the salmon and he had the chicken and penne and both dishes were delicious. If you want to make the best of what this place has to offer, the view, I'd suggest visiting while there is still daylight. It gets kinda dark at night and the only thing lit up nearby is Sing Sing Prison (how romantic :-p). Haverstraw is a little too far north to get a good view of the Tappan Zee Bridge.

On a beautiful Sunday night, we decided that there is nothing better that having dinner on the water.  And the Hudson Water Club filled the bill and jumped to 4 stars!  A warm night and a cool breeze greeted us at a very busy restaurant where we had to wait for 20 minutes, but wanted to sit on the deck, at the railing on the water.  We had a perfect spot.  I ordered P.E.I. Mussels fra diablo and they came marinara and not spicy.  I would have sent them back, but they were delicious, so I asked and was given more bread so that I could soak up the sauce - and I did.  I had another appetizer - wings, for my entre.  They were done in the wood fired oven and had a great sauce - much better than the deep fried breaded kind.  Really good.  My wife had the gazpacho and a white pizza which she enjoyed because anything with cheese is her style.  The restaurant manager, Monica, came by and asked how everything was.  I responded by asking her if she wanted me to tell her then or just read it on Yelp.  She sat with us and asked our opinion about everything, from the time we called to the wait to the food and service.  That's why it is a 4 star restaurant IMHO.  Spectacular views, excellent food and management that is interested and cares.  Good going, Monica.  See you soon!

If you're just going for drinks and want to hang out by the water, then by all means go for it.  We stayed for dinner and it was not good at all.  Ordered a simple salad with grilled chicken.  How could you go wrong, I thought.  Well, they did.  The chicken looked AND tastes like it was grilled that afternoon, not that night when I dined there.
On the menu it said the salad came with walnuts and gorgonzola cheese.  They were pretty liberal withe the cheese, but the walnuts, they were candied and covered with a hard sweet shell...yuk!  The greens were romaine and near the bottom of the stalk so they were mostly light greeish white and tastless.   I would be reluctant to go back again to eat.

Great view, good food, terrible service.  The first time I went there, we asked to be seated close to the water, and they said they couldn't because they were all reserved, even though they were all empty.  I get it though, they might have people coming.  Then, we asked our waiter about possibly moving closer to the water, and he said he would seat us there, but it's not in his section (a.k.a, he wouldn't get the tip and he had already served us drinks).  To me, that was really terrible service and just dumb of him to admit.

Recently, I also had a private event there and I was really pleased with all the pre-work.  I spoke with Chris and he was great and very amenable.  I even spoke with a few other people, and they seemed great, and were willing to answer all of my questions and accomodate my requests.

Then,  when I got there, Monica had a terrible attitude with me and my mother.  Tablecloths were set on all of the tables outside (which they charge you an extra $25 for, so I had declined) and when I asked her how come they were on there, she was extremely annoyed and snapped at the staff to remove all of the tablecloths.  Then, I asked about how the wine would be served, because I had been adamant about not having it be self-serve, which I thought meant the wine would not be out in the open.  Turns out, it was, so I asked about it, because I was confused and she got annoyed with me again and said I had to make up my mind and I was lucky as is because my party was getting the buffet even though we didn't hit the required minimum.  I let her know that I didn't initially want the buffet and it was actually offered up to me in place of a seated lunch by Chris, so that got her quiet.  I decided to just leave the area and take care of some last minute decorations inside.  Meanwhile, my mom and boyfriend finished setting up outside - now granted, my mom can be an annoying patron, but my boyfriend actually sided with her on all the issues she had to take up with Monica and the waitstaff: they brought out chipped plates, dirty plates, and dirty utensils. Unacceptable if you ask me.

Monica and staff became more pleasant as the morning went on...until it was time for the cake.  (side note on the cake, which is provided by Homestyle Bakery - it was good, but their technical skills seem lacking to me; the frosting was cracked in the front of the cake and the shell border they piped around the border had so many large air bubbles!)  They kept harassing  us about cutting the cake.  We finally just kept telling them 5 min, and we would let them know, but they kept coming over.  Finally, I went over to our waitress and asked if it was an issue of paying more $ for them to let us stay longer because it seemed like they were rushing us out.  It was just an annoying stressor to what is supposed to be a fun event.

I will say, the food was very good, and luckily the weather held up so the view was gorgeous, which is fortunate, because without that, this place would definitely not be worth going out of your way for.

I've only ever been here for drinks, but it ain't bad. A little pricey, but it's worth it to be right on the Hudson. They do charge cover sometimes though, which is whack. Usually it's because the cover band, The Amish Outlaws, are playing and they're a pretty good time. Personally, I've gotten a little tired of them. To me, this is a nice place to grab a few casual drinks during the summer and enjoy the scenery... and wish I had a boat.

Had a work dinner at this beautiful spot last night. Yummy freshly shucked oysters, cod and veggies cooked perfectly and excellent service. My colleagues all enjoyed their meals with only one complaint that the scallops were too salty. I will definitely be back.

we came here on a beautiful sunday afternoon with my husband's parents.

we were seated "dockside."  the problem with this  is that there is a live band playing all your favorite hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s.  live music makes eating at your establishment unappealing if you are not drinking heavily.  we were trying to have a conversation, which was really difficult.

the food was fine.  overpriced, but at the very least passable.

my biggest complaint is with the wait staff.  our waitress seemed incredibly overwhelmed and unprepared.   we had to wait over 30 minutes to get the check and then have our credit card processed.   after having the waitress disappear off the floor in 10-minute increments, my frustration was increasing with every lapsed second.  it literally took 20+ minutes from the tme i asked for the check until we received it and another 10 minutes for her to take the card and process it. no explanations, no i'm sorrys, nothing!

the whole experience just made our dinner very unpleasant.

My husband took me here for a Sunday lunch. He had talked about this place how nice it used to be and we wanted to check out the new establishment after the fire and new management. We walked in and it looked nice, on the water. and not a lot of people. Some people at the bar and only one couple sitting at a table. We ask the hostess if we can sit down for lunch she looks around and says not until after 4pm and then we can only sit inside. So we need to wait for over an hour to sit inside when they have about 10-12 table open outside!? This did not make ANY sense. And they were rude about it too, I understand if they had a big group coming in and they would say "you can sit outside until 4pm when we have reservations" or "we only have seats inside right now".

Really bad experience and will not come back there again.

We started with drinks--I got the Hudson Club Margarita, which tasty like salty water, and my fiancee got a Sour Melon, which was overly sweet.

The food was mediocre and, having been there several times over the last few years, is incredibly inconsistent.  I think the last good meal I had there was in 2008.

Aside from the bad drinks and mediocre food, they did not pay attention to the allergies I informed them of.  I have a serious dairy allergy, which I told them of right off, and ended up getting extremely sick right after my main course.  The food was totally not good enough to justify getting so ill!

In short, this place is NOT a good choice.  Mediocre to bad, and expensive to boot.

Figured this place could use a little help because it is not awful. I can't comment on the food because I have never eaten here but I have gone here for drinks and bands a handful of times. For the most part they are reasonably priced for drinks especially if you are there for their extended happy hour. They have a fairly large out door bar and a large deck with plenty of seating. I don't know about you but during the Spring/Summer I like to be outside and not stuffed in doors at an overly crowded bar, so I would def recommend this place for a casual place you would like to get a drink.

i was here with a group of 10. and we all thought our food was great! even my boyfriend - who is a city foodie and is always skeptical of suburban food. however, our service was kinda bad. we were asked to move after dinner - before dessert - because they sat us where they wanted to put the band for the night. kind of illegal in the service industry. we said no. but then we felt so rushed! ugh.
