Loved this place, great friendly service (hard to come by in Lancaster), wonderful beer selection, and the bar tenders were very knowledgable about the beers, tried two lovely sandwiches so far, and the gourmet food store is also quite nice. This will be a regular stop for my husband and me. Strongly recommend it!
Review Source:A great place to go and enjoy great food and a variety of beer for everyone's taste and wallet. The only place I have been where the "whole" staff is knowledgeable in the beers as well as foods! Kudos!!
Good times to be had and memories to be made.
Love the "Food/Specialty Store and Bottle Shop
We enjoyed several beers and appetizers on a quiet weekday afternoon. The ambience is pleasant - modern/industrial mixed with brick walls, hand made plank bartop, paintings. The servers were extremely knowledgeable and happy to offer opinions and tasters. About 24 beers on tap - a broad range of top quality beers from across the country. All beers are $6, sized accordingly. Appetizers were delicious, particularly the tempura asparagus with smoked aioli. We were happy to not see TV monitors (except those on which the beer selections were posted). H&T is a unique place to get really high quality craft beers along with great food and surroundings.
Review Source:Love this place! Â Naturally, the draw for me initially was the beer selection. Â The bottle shop has a great variety and fair prices. Â The times I have been in the clerk was always very helpful and friendly. Â The food shop is really cool. Â I'm not much of a gourmet on that end but we always take a moment to browse and see what's new. Â We have been there when the bar is totally packed and when it was almost empty. Â When it's busy, we were still served quickly even though it seemed like they did not expect such a big crowd (it was their opening week). Â When it's not terribly busy it's a great place to relax with a few top notch beers and chat with the bartender. Â Last time we were there the bartender was awesome. Â She was knowledgeable about the different styles and breweries represented on their tap list and gave great advice. Â I did not listen and chose another beer but in the end she was right, the beer she suggested was much better. Foodwise the only item we tried was the soft pretzel (which was great) but I'm anxious to try more. Â The best part for me is it's not downtown and they have a large parking lot.
Review Source:This place is well thought out, great beer selection, unique food an incredible specialty food store and a bottle shop that is reasonably priced with a selection a beer geek would die for. Service was great and I felt the quality fit price. Outstanding and I will definitely be back. Great addition to the Lancaster area.
Review Source:My wife and I ate out on the patio saturday night.  I had the great lakes elliot ness lager - which was great.  My wife had a tom collins which she loved - now her favorite summer drink.  Tom Collins?  i hadn't heard that ordered since Richie Cunningham tried to order that on Happy Days TV show.  My wife had the house blend hamburger - super delicious - tasted different than any other burger I've had (i ate what she didn't finish).  i ordered the "WTF" Tacos  which were listed as "f'n" delicious - very tasty but small portion for big eater like me.  And unlike most pricey places, the coffee was excellent and fresh.  And what's up with the use of "WTF" and "f'n"  .  I wasn't offended but kind of weird that a bar that uses a clear biblical reference from matthew 5 as it's title - hunger and thirst - would also use WTF.  What the heck (WTH)?  Service was excellent.  Setting of patio and bar is "mennonite stark" but still okay.  Nice and open.  They should put a nice mural on the wall of the building butting up against the patio. Love the location just outside of downtown..  Will definitely come back for burger and try some different beers.  p.s. nice bathroom with cool looking rack for toilet paper and one them fancy hand dryers you just dip your hands up and down in....
Review Source:Tell me what bar , coffee house, etc doesn't offer wi -fi ? If you look trendy and charge for it, try to be "trendy" and open the wi-fi. When we asked for the password we were told they were keeping it locked for now. ????? Â Small time. But the beer was good although I would have liked to search for info on some of their beer selections.
Review Source:When you walk in the door the first thing you notice is the overwhelming smell of rubber. It smells like a tire factory and I have no idea why. The restaurant and bar are very pretty but the service is inattentive and awkward. The draft list was well-rounded and reasonably priced. The food menu was somewhat hard to follow and the portions are very small and pricey. I'm not a heaping plate kind of person either. Our server didn't seem too interested in waiting on us and kept walking away mid-sentence. Very strange. I realize they just opened a few weeks ago but there are a lot of kinks that should be ironed out by now. No one there seemed to know what they were doing. The major problem seemed to be that they had no idea how to handle a medium-sized crowd. The staff acted very stressed and that doesn't make your customers feel comfortable. Â
Bottle shop has amazing selections, the person working was very friendly and the prices were resonable. I will return to the bottle shop but I'm not in a hurry to go back to the restaurant or bar.
So this business had just opened, and I had heard great things about it. My girlfriend and I decided to try it out tonight. We went for dinner. A few points about my dining experience: Menu was slightly disorganized (wasn't quite sure which selections were small dishes or entrees), though the selection was unique and intriguing. The beer selection was fantastic. The food's presentation was superb (other than the plates being just slightly too small to hold the entree). The food itself was unique for this area and quite good, though both my lady and I concluded that it was a little over-salted. Our service was great. After dinner we wandered through the provisions shop/deli where they had some interesting gifts and a great selection of cured meats and cheeses.
At this point, I had a bad experience written about previously. The owner has reached out to me and resolved the issue. I greatly appreciate his concern and have updated my rating to reflect that.
Beautiful new addition to the Lancaster food and drink scene. Â The food is fresh and well prepared. Â Everyone at our table of four enjoyed their meal. Â There is a huge selection of unique beers on tap and they rotate frequently, apparently. The dining and bar area are well and thougtfully crafted with huge hunks of wood for the tables and bar, and cool industrial light fixtures. Â Plenty of parking. Â There is a cheese and meat room and it looked like an enormous bottle fridge for take out. We will be back!
