Living in Lancaster, you can walk to so many different places. We have fallen in LOVE with the Taproom since it's inception over 2 years ago. The beer selection changes daily and the food menu is upscale bar food which has significantly been upgraded over that timeframe. The pizza could be a bit better, but the tacos on Tuesday are AWESOME! Also, try the crab mac-n-cheese bites, you won't regret it!
We are mug club members which is a great value and also makes you feel cool when people ask you about your awesome looking mug! The beer is some of the best we've ever had!! And we've tried a LOT of beers! The new Federal Taphouse just opened up in between where we live and the Taproom. We have decided that we still just prefer the small-town, upscale feel of Taproom better. Yeah, it can be a little loud because the acoustics are a bit echoey, and it does get a bit crowded on Friday (probably because of how awesome it is) but that's just because it's the best place in town to hang out and have a World Class micro brew!
Speaking of the micro brews, they tend to run on the IPA heavy side, but have lots of Wheats as well. My favorite beer is the Big Gruesome Choco Peanut Butter Stout and my fiancé loves the BRRAAAAIIINNSSS Pumpkin Ale! They have seasonal beers, so be sure to stop by in the summer for the Pineapple Ale and the fall for their Pumpkin Ale and Stout and ask to mix them into a Pumpkiny Black and Tan deliciousness in your mouth!
Cheers!
This was a neat place! I came here with some family back in May and it was a nice atmosphere. We got their mozzarella sticks and pizza for dinner and they were mighty tasty. However, I was a bit disappointed with their beers. I think we came at the wrong time of year because Springhouse certainly knows how to make dark beers. Their chocolate peanut butter stout is ridiculously good and it alone warrants this place 5 stars. However, we did a flight of all their beers and their other ales just weren't good at all. The IPAs were really bad and their experimental raspberry/jalapeno IPA - just awful. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but that's not a reason not to check this place out. Overall, go there for some great bar food and stick with the chocolate peanut butter stout - it's a keeper!
