Only been here once. Friend of mine recommended it. Had the fried pickles as a starter. Not bad. Typical fried pickles. Had the Island Grilled Shrimp for my entree. Not bad as well. The service on the other was horrible. Waitress was either to busy or just that bad. I would return however because I feel everyone needs a second chance.
Review Source:Everyone always says - go to BW3's - their wings are the bomb! Well, BW's IMO can keep their wings! I haven't found a wing there as of yet I like but here at Hurricane - that's a whole other story!
I am a VERY picky person when it comes to food and for me to walk in my first time, order wings  - two different sauces I had never had and love both - now that's a miracle in itself! First time there I had grilled chicken sliders and they are awesome as well!
Sure, you might have to wait a little bit but at least you know they cooked your food fresh and hasn't been sitting around.. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I walked in to BW's and ordered wings only to have them delivered to me within 5 minutes! You cannot cook them in 5 minutes - whats that tell you!???
I will wait for fresh cooked good food and some of these reviews are petty... Â
People want to get all caught up in the whole BW scene - go for it... I will go for the good food and atmosphere and friendly people over that anyday!
I was here mid-December 2011 with several friends at 1:30 for a late lunch. They were not busy as the lunch rush was over. There were only 6 tables each with 1-3 people seated and four waitstaff, but service was incredibly slow and the server never came back to see if we needed anything additional after serving our initial order.
I ordered wings (hey, it's in their name) and I requested all flats, as I often do. I was told there would be an up-charge because "it costs us more to serve all flats." I wasn't overly impressed with the flavor, nor with the way they were cooked (dried out and overcooked). Â Their fried pickles are very good however. I would come here for an appetizer and a drink, but for my wings I will go elsewhere.
My boyfriend and I went here to check it out on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't busy and our server was very attentive. She was very helpful in explaining their menu as well as offering that we could try any of their many sauces before we committed to it. We got an appetizer of boneless with their new "Boss Sauce" and it was very yummy! She described it as a spicy Caesar and that is what it tasted like, delicious. He got the BLT quesadilla and I got the Mahi tacos. Both were very good. I really liked the tacos! (not raw at all...) I tried it with the sauce it recommended and it was good but I might try them some time with a different sauce. Their sauce variety is awesome and the variety of the menu is excellent too. Some of the prices seem a bit high but it is not outrageous. The only food complaint is I thought the fries were really boring, they could make those better.
There are lots of TVs if you want to watch sports and it has a tropical theme. They also have some really good deals for lunch. I am looking forward to going back and trying something else, especially some more of the many sauces!
Ok food and atmosphere, but nothing special. Service was disappointing... had to ask 3 people for a child seat, had to ask repeatedly for refills, and when my pregnant wife's fish tacos came out raw no one seemed concerned or apologized. Gonna have to do better if you're going to go head to head against BW3s down the road.
Review Source:In my search for a kid friendly lunch spot with TVs for football watching in B-burg/Avon, a friend suggested Hurricane Grill. Kid friendly? Â Yes, my friend was able to order a grilled cheese off the kids' menu, and there were several other youngins who stopped in after a soccer game. Â TVs for football watching? Yes, but they were mostly in the bar which obviously didn't work with a toddler in the group. Â
I had a Sam Adams Octoberfest and the other beer offerings were less seasonal and of the nationally distributed variety. Â Hurricane Grill features their wings with an extensive list of sauce options. Â The boneless wings were decent and the Fire and Ice sauce with horseradish was spicy and delicious. Â The regular wings were dry and boring. Â One friend ordered a Philly cheesesteak and another got a steak. Â This may be a better option than BW3s across the street if you have non-wing eaters in your party. Â
The decor is super kitschy, I guess they're going for an island theme. Â Bob Marley tunes played while we were there.
The food there is fine, similar to BW3's with a bit more variety and what seems to be more choices for wing sauce. Â My wife's sangria was interesting - not bad, but definitely not a traditional sangria. Â Our last trip there was with a party of about 6 with 2 kids, and service was fine - I don't quite understand the other comments that I've seen about slow service...maybe I've been lucky.
Review Source:Have been here 2 times. The first time they made us wait so long for a table that we just ended up leaving. This last time they seated us immediately. The menu is very appealing and the food is pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary. The one drawback is that it takes forever to get your food. Do not go to this place if you are very hungry and want food immediately. We did order and appetizer and that come out pretty quickly but we waited over 30 mins for our food. Go here if you have a lot of time on your hands and are just wanting to sit and chat.
Review Source:The decor is great. Â Gives a Florida beach feeling. Â Servers are friendly and attentive. Â Menu has a nice variety. Â However, been there twice now and both times had to wait extremely long periods for our food to arrive. Â Do not go there and expenct to get in and out. Â Seems very family oriented, but kids cannot sit around as long as it takes them to get their food. Â Not sure what the problem is. Â Won't go back for a few months to see if things have improved.
