Il Posto Bistro

My wife and I ate here on a Saturday night.  We stopped in earlier in the afternoon to make reservations,  but were told they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more,  but the girl there assured us that even when they're busy,  the wait isn't too long.     When we got there later in the evening,  the place was full,  but they managed to seat us fairly quickly.    

We started with an appetizer of Bocanccini - mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto and topped with marinara and baked with bread crumbs.   It was absolutely delicious.   My only complaint with it was that there were only three small pieces which seemed like not a lot for the $9 price.  

Our entree's came,  and they were outstanding.   My wife had salmon over linguine in a pesto cream sauce.  The fish was cooked to perfection,  and the sauce was great.  The only problem,  and this is really not much of a problem at all,  is that the fish was so flaky that it didn't hold up to the heavier sauce and it was difficult to get a bite of it with the pasta.    She certainly didn't mind.

I ordered the Veal Balsamico  with radicchio, onions, olives, goat cheese, and a balsamic sauce.    The veal just melted in my mouth.  the salty olives were nicely balanced by the sweet balsamic reduction.  

The prices for the entrees were very reasonable,  both under $20.    The portion sizes were just enough,  and seemed to shy away from the current trend of bringing you so much food that you couldn't possibly eat it all.  

The one thing we noticed is that it was quite loud when the place was full.  They only have about a dozen tables,  plus seating at the bar.    Once a few tables left later in the evening,  it was fine.

The owner of Il Posto came to our table at least twice to check on us,  and seemed genuinely appreciative to everyone for their business.

We will definitely return.
