I enjoy going to this casino for a fun evening out, however from Las Vegas experience, this is not a casino particularly worth going to. Â This casino is not on water so there are no live cards. Â
However, if you enjoy slot machines this is a great casino near Indy to go to. Â I had gone the other day and they had changed everything around since the time I had gone before. Â They had several new machines, and changed things around.
My girlfriend and I actually tried their buffet that night as well. Â I was in shock at how wonderful the buffet was considering the type of casino. Â We had gone on a Sunday night and the options available for food were endless. Â We actually used a coupon from the Zoobook for a buy one get one free buffet and the food was perfect. Â We had our options between American food like pizza, to fried chicken, swordfish, steak, sushi, beef and broccoli, a beautiful salad bar, endless cocktail shrimp and that does not even include the dessert options. Â The desserts ranged from sugar free options to the more decadent options like cheesecake, coconut cake, cookies, red velvet cupcakes and more.
It has definitely been a while since I had been to this casino and as far as gambling I can't say I would be back but between The Steakhouse and their buffet I would definitely go back for the food.
We were invited to Indiana Downs to watch/bet on the horses and it was great fun. Â We had the Buffet which we thought was very good (if you enjoy meat) I would have enjoyed a nice fresh salad; but, that is just me. Â My one complaint is that when the bill came at the end of the evening the buffet was $26 a person and it did NOT include our drinks (iced tea/pop) which we thought was very odd...I'm thinking for that price the least they could do is include the drink?? That would be my one suggestion. We went into the Casino and it was amazing/confusing for a rookie like me and might just be worth another trip back in the future. Very nice facility.
Review Source:I do not gamble at all but when I drive people here in my LIMO I am reminded as I pull up to go way over to the side to drop off my people and pick them up. We need to be a little more first class and let the people riding in a limo or Party bus to be treated as first class. Indiana is not good at treating their people in a first class way. I know to most it is not a big deal but when you go to Vegas Miami LA or other big cities and arrive in style than you are dropped off at front door. I can see waiting in a different area but to have all those parked cars sitting there waiting for the valet to park while my clients need to walk between cars is just not classy at all. Look into this and get back with me. Bada Bing Limo 317-281-7161.
The circle Bar is great. I can enjoy a good cigar and listen to great music. This is one of my favorite locations to drive to. The bar staff always takes good care of me since I am a limo driver and I make sure their patrons get to come here and drink and I get them home safely.
This review is of the buffet, not the casino. The casino gets one star because the blackjack table is actually a video game with mini screens imbedded into the table tops and a human dealer just "dealing" by pushing the buttons. Not real blackjack, and blackjack is the only game I enjoy.
The buffet was great. I really enjoyed the smoothies and the carrot soufflé, and the Octoberfest German offerings were strange but good. The sushi was fresh and tasty and there was a great variety of traditional Midwestern favorites as well. It was a little expensive at $17...I suspect most players get comped but I never will because I don't play slots.
I go here for one purpose, to play poker. Â It is the closest game to Indianapolis. Â If you have never been, they use electronic tables. Â You have a touch screen in front of you and you use it to look at your cards and bet. Â I prefer traditional cards and chips, but there are some advantages to this form of poker. Â You see many more hands, there are no misdeals, you don't have to tip a dealer, you have access to some stats, etc.
Review Source:Well I am Indiana with nothing to do so I decided to check out Indiana Live. Really I am not a big fan of slot machines and I prefer to have a dealer when I play blackjack or shoot craps. So I wasn't to thrilled when i saw that their games were all computer based. The buffet is pretty good and was priced real reasonably. The bar in the center of the casino is really nice and the staff were very friendly. Even though I didn't gamble here I really did enjoy my visit.
Review Source:Had a great time when they hosted the "Captain's Tour" - Captain Sig, Andy and Johnathan from Deadliest Catch! Was surprised by my husband and Casino rep. Bonnie B. who gave me a personal meeting with them - had a wonderful time winning at the quarter slots. Not much of a gambler but wouldn't mind going back sometime.
Review Source:Stopped here on our way home from Indy early this morning around 1am. Â First things the layout of the casino is really nice, the casino has a few restaurants and a Starbucks inside. I really like all the slot machines they have especially the penny slots which is what I always play.
Every employee I ran into was super nice and pointed the correct way to the area I was looking for.
One thing we didn't get was the escalators were still running and when we went up them to see the second floor everything was locked.
My buddy is a huge poker player and didn't like the fact that the game was automated on the screen and not playing with real cards in his hand. He also missed the interaction with the dealer and such.
When in the area, I will stop by again to see if I can continue my winning streak.
When I'm winning this is a four star establishment....with my luck lately this could be a two star joint.
Indiana Live aesthetically resembles a Vegas casino....a nice one in fact. Â They have slot machines, a poker room, and an electronic roulette machine. Â What they don't have are physical cards or chips. Â This takes away some of the fun but after awhile you get used to it.
They have over priced buffets and restaurants....Ive eaten at both and they are pretty horrible. Â
other notes
-not as smokey as Anderson
-nice staff
-nice high roller room
-self service drink stations
-weekends are stupid crowded....come during the week.
Indiana Live...if you wanted to be a real casino, you would have table games. That's the only thing you lack, but it's a biggie. You keep saying you are "working on it" and "it's political". Every other Indiana casino has them. Other than that, you have a great casino. Without table games you might as well be back in that tent. Losing one star for that.
We had the Seafood Buffet on a Friday night. I passed the Chef making sushi (just didn't look that good), not to mention there are several states between Indiana and any ocean. Yeah, think I'll pass on that and be safe, I think to myself, but I did eat crab, shrimp, mussels and salmon. Middle of the night I was worshiping the porcelain god...yeah. I wasn't careful enough. Beware of seafood in buffets in casinos, especially in land lubed states. I'm a forgiving person, but make me sick and get a new lower rating - take away another star.
The buffet wasn't cheap, but people really lined up for it. For just a few bucks more you could eat in their really excellent Makers Mark restaurant and have a wonderful meal with fresh seafood that is safe. Review to follow on that.
This casino rules. Â I've been travelling around the country, going to casinos all over. Â (including Vegas, excluding Atlantic City...for now!) Â The places I've seen have run the gamut from the most chic Vegas spots to the most sad, tiny Indian casinos on the planet. Â And Trust, this place rules. Â
The slots here are cool...just wish this place had more WIZARD OF OZ machines!...Wish all casinos did. Â
Was here on a Friday night, place gets pretty packed.
The card tables were electric rather than with a real dealer, which was kinda lame.
THE BUFFET HERE RULES! Â Go for lunch, which was something like $8 and a STEAL. Â It was comparable to Vegas buffets, for real. Â And for less than a Hamilton! Â Great selection at the buffet....including Asian food made by actual Asian people...in Indiana.
This place even has a horse race track, which is cool if you're into that. Â It turned out that I'm not...but it's still cool to have that variety. Â I'd reccommend this place to anyone going to Indiana.
Let me preface this by saying we went on Brickyard weekend, so it was super busy and we may not have seen everything that they had to offer because of the crowd.
First visit out here, will more than likely be back. Â Had a good selection of low limit slots (penny, 2 cent, and nickel). Also had a decent selection of quarter and up slots. Not a ton of video poker or multi game machines, seemed like there were about 6 banks of 6 poker and multi game, but it was busy so I could have missed some. Â The other video table games were very, very sparse. Â I only saw a few banks of video table games and none of them were less than $5 limit, again from what I could see. Â I don't mind $5 limits I dealt with that in Vegas, but when I come to these little out of the way casino's I am there for an hour or two of entertainment, not to try and win money, so I can't really be entertained for an hour with $5 minimums. Â But the casino is there to take our money so I understand why they wouldn't have any low limit tables set up. Â We left with more money than we came in with, penny slots which I was amazed by, so I can't complain too much.
As far as dinner goes, that was another story. Â We tried out the Nascar Grille on a recommendation from a friend. Â The app was good, toasted raviolis and fried pepper jack cheese sticks, won't get any complaints from me on that one, it is exactly what it is. Â The entrees on the other hand were less than stellar. Â I got the steak, the only one they had on the menu, it was cooked right but the plate had a pool of gravy on the bottom of it, which lacked flavor at all. Â The steak itself was about 50% fat and the sides lacked flavor. Â The wife enjoyed her salad, Asian Chicken salad I believe, and commented that the Bloody Mary was the best she had ordered in about 5 years. Â The waiter was attentive and the prices were ok. Â I just wish I would have stuck to my friends entree recommendation and got a burger instead.
Overall not a terrible night of entertainment.
The reviewers are right about the casino. It's very nice. However, we have tried the market place deli and buffet and the Nascar grill. Food is substandard and the service not very friendly. We were there on a weekday when there were very few people in either restaurant. My husband ordered a sandwich and I was getting the buffet. It was only 20 feet from each place and they wouldn't let us sit together because they said it was not the same kind of meal. Ridiculous!
Also, the drinks at the Nacscar were out of a pump and don't know what we had but it wasn't what we ordered. We won't eat there again, but the casino is nice.
Went here last weekend--really liked it--Was there in the daytime and the casino was really nice. We had a drink in the Makers Mark bar and it was really cool. The staff at the bar in the center of the casino were kinda rude and not very friendly. I love the new ELECTRONIC ROULETTE very different from the other dealer driven ROULETTE in Atlantic City & Vegas . I think it much more relaxing . Had a Great time would love to go back to IN
