DESTROYSSSS VINZ, this place has top notch service when in comparison to other competitors in the area.

Great recommendations from the staff, food is awesome. Good beer selection, and the happy hour is extremely good. The service however is what puts the place over the top, they do the little things like date your to go boxes etc. Small little things like that mean the people care about the job and you are bound for a nice experience. Must go place.

We are retired and eat out very often. Have driven by this eatery for a very long time and never stop to eat. That was our mistake. Service was great. Our meal was not perfect. It was better then that. All the famous steak houses. Should learn from this chef. The best steak EVER. Wife had a flat bread player that was to die for. Ready, we eat at all the fine joints in, San Diego and none have serves food as goo as this place. We are now going to be regulars bEcause the food is right on and the wine selection great as well. Lastly, the wait staff like working there and that says something.

I have eaten here a few times now and each time has been wonderful. A group of four of us went last night and the service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so it worked out great, our waitress was a sweetheart and kept checking in with us even when she was busy . The food is so delicious and the portions are a good size. We stated off with the Plank, which is a platter of meats and cheeses and dried fruit. So yummy!! I would recommend making a reservation if you want to go on a weekend thou.

Went to this place based on other Yelp reviews and they weren't wrong, it was terrific. The lunch menu has a lot of vegetarian items which is important to me and the food was delicious! I had one of the flatbreads with carmelized pears, gorgonzola, arugula and candied pecans. My friend had the roasted Portobello mushroom with sweet potato fries. Both dishes were great! The ambience is very comfortable and the staff really helpful and nice. I'll go back again and would definitely recommend.

Wow! I really liked the restaurant. The food was yummy, the service was great. Dinner (appetizers, salads, entrees) for 2 with wine and tip @ $120. Will definitely use for some of our corporate dinners.

My girl friends who moved close by wanted to grab lunch so the picked this spot... and what a great decision! i was in love instantly!

FOOD: there were plenty of food options - apps, burgers, paninis, salads, soups, flat breads (pizzas), pasta, and meat/cheese boards - and beer/wine selections. i had the Chuck Burger or the Turkey Melt in mind, so i asked the waitress what is most popular/her favorite and coincidentally those were the two. the Brie swayed me to choose the ROASTED TURKEY MELT and i'm glad i did!! i thought it would be ground turkey but it was actually sliced turkey breast but didnt deter the taste/texture at all. The melted brie and the fig compote really made it tasty and the warm toasty bread perfected the texture. AMAZING overall and it was a fair quantity for the price. OH and it came with fries so i chose the sweet potato rout (always) and a delish curry ketchup. two thumbs all the way up! my girl friends got the ROASTED PORTOBELLO SANDWICH and ASIAN CHICKEN SALAD. The salad was huuuuge and tasty but it did have a spicy kick in the dressing. the Portobello sandwich was also warm and had lots of roasted veggies stuffed inside with pesto.

DRINKS: my friends got beers - Maui Brewing Co - and i got the Bubbly Wine Flight. the wine trio was lovely, no complaints there!

PRICE: the whole menu was about $10-15 avg

AMBIANCE: LOVE! before walking inside there is a front patio with wood tables, where we brought my pug Ninja to have lunch with us. when walking inside i kinda felt like i was in a new spot downtown - check out my picture. the best way to describe the decor was classy yet comfy- dark wood and red painted walls, high ceilings with cute lamps hanging down, detailed crown molding, with a little lounge and mini bar area near the hall way (there was a small TV playing soccer too)! on the walls there were painted phrases and words that went along with the theme. lots of natural night coming in during the day and i'm sure it would be a great for a date spot at night.

SERVICE: The hostess was very welcoming and attentive. the waitress was no different and very patient with us and our questions. I wish i received customer service like that everywhere!

I was on the verge to give this place a 5 since its the best sit down restaurant spot i've tried in Esconddio, but i need to come again to sample their dinner and dessert to be 100% convinced :)

This place is CUTE!

The staff is beyond nice and welcoming.

Went here on a whim and I cannot wait to go back. I spent way too much money, and had too much champagne.

Anyway we got the avocado mango tower with crab. Be still my beating heart. And the crispy mac and cheese. amaze!

I will go back...maybe this weekend?

Don't settle for a car dealership if you're looking for a special dinner in Escondido.

After last year's disaster at Vintana there was no way I was going to mess up the Anniversary dinner again. Luckily, this place was recommend by a few friends.
Intertwined is intimate, so intimate that you're probably going to get a hostess or server's derriere right on your table as they squeeze people into the table next to yours. Not so bad if it's the hostess with the tight purple mini skirt but then again not so good in you're on date night :) Anyway, the food was delicious and so was the wine.

The UPs,
- The filet was great, best in Escondido.
http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

- The wine list was suitable for both casual dining and more formal dinners.

The Downs -
- The chef leans too much on Sriracha sauce. I think every dish that we had included a siracha component.

- The 4 dollar bread bucket was a ripoff. You get four dinner rolls that strangely remind me of Rhodes Bake-N-Serv.

- Well, Jennifer S was right about the hostess perch. If it's slow, they're probably watching you.

Delicious food and wonderful service. We did have a very loud table next to us but I can't hold that against the restaurant. Crowds in Escondido are hit or miss so you always take your chances in that respect. Overall I thought they had a great menu with lots of gluten free options and eclectic, flavorful mixtures of everyday meals. We will definitely go back if in the area.

Enjoyed a great dinner on a Friday night while "Cruisin on Grand" went on just outside. Our service was very attentive and friendly. The wine list was good although not extensive and we enjoyed really nice of bottle of cabernet with our dinner. For an appetizer, at the server's suggestion we had the bacon wrapped figs, which were incredible. My wife had the lobster and shrimp ravioli and I had the bone in ribeye special. Both were excellent. Finally for dessert, we had the homemade cinnamon donuts with a little bowl of ice cream. They melted in our mouths. We will definitely return.

I am so happy to have found Intertwined! It's elegant with their decor and atmosphere, but they provide an environment that is relaxing and casual. The waitress that helped us was very knowledgeable. I don't know anything about wine and she not only let us taste the wine before we committed, but she knew what she was talking about. Between my Glazed Pear Flat Bread and to die for dessert I am very astonished with my entire experience from Intertwined!

My husband and I love Intertwined! Awesome selection of beer and wine at various price points. The food is also amazing, I suggest the Dates on the appetizer menu...YUM! We also ordered one of the planks and asked that the Chef put together whatever he would chose...OMG IT WAS DELISH! Love the people there too!

What a great addition for Escondido!

We love going to Cruising Grand and always eat at Vinz after we look at the cars. The last three times we ate at Vinz we had such bad service that we decided to try something new. How lucky were we to find this wonderful restaurant? We had not only outstanding food, but also friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere is contemporary and casual and the restaurant provides a nice escape from the crowd on Grand.

We had a bottle of Le Marco Proseco which was unbelievably priced at only $21! The gazpacho is incredibly fresh and has just the right amount of twang. The Avacado Tower with dilled crab was fresh and tasty and just what we needed on a hot day. It is large enough for two to four people to share and comes with sliced bread. The thai chicken pizza was unbelievably flavorful and so large that we took more than half of it home.

We can't wait to go back and take friends (and try some of their fabulous looking desserts - especially those homemade donuts with chocolate dipping sauce!!)

This is a good spot for lunch with friends. The appetizers are big enough to share. The flat bread thai "pizza" is huge and tasty! Again, good for sharing. It really cuts the price of lunch down when you can split portions.

So far I've tried the goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, the chicken lollipops, the calamari and enjoyed them all. The blueberry bacon and pear sandwich is probably one of the best things I've had in a long time.

The cheese board was disappointing. The turkey wasn't fresh roasted and it could use stronger cheeses and salamis. It was more of an appetizer plate rather than a main course. I was hoping it would be more of a Ploughman's lunch but sadly, it was a bit scrawny.

I will definitely be back as that pear sandwich is haunting me...

Great atmosphere! Love the intimate, European feel of this place!
I had the Avocado tower with chicken (also available with crab) and it was really very delicious! I would definitely order it again. I had a salad for my main course and though I was impressed with the presentation I was not as excited by the flavor. I can't really complain though as I had them omit the goat cheese which I'm sure made the salad.
I was happy with how accommodating the staff and management were. Though they did not have a formal gluten free menu they made a great effort to accommodate my GF and dairy free dietary restrictions. The waitress was really friendly and attentive and we were very happy with the service overall.

I am so thankful that Intertwined Bistro opened here. Escondido has sorely needed a spot like this!

It's elegant but not stuffy. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. My boyfriend and I come here about once a month. And I'm delighted anew every time.

This past trip I ordered the beet salad for the first time. It was everything a beet salad should be! Plenty of big chunks of fresh roasted beets, feta cheese scattered all over, and fresh greens and citrus dressing. What I love about this salad was that there was plenty of everything. So often when I order a beet salad I get something that looks beautiful but is too dainty to satisfy. If I added a sliced chicken breast, this salad could be an entree.

The flatbreads are also really good. As are all the fish and chicken entrees we've tried.

This is a great little place! The atmosphere is wonderful, but what really shines is the food. I love the "Mango" stack...it's one of my favorites. And the prices for the food are really reasonable. When we have out of town guests, I always take them there! Our service has always been excellent, and the food is great. I

After 2 visits here I decided it was time to put up a review. Intertwined, some call it Entwined? is a great wine themed bistro situated on Escondido's Grand Ave. There are several eating options along Grand, and that selection is thankfully expanding...but Intertwined has a great niche and they are doing it well! I have stopped in here to visit a Happy Hour which was great, they even situated the lounge area to make it more social for the happy hour setting which was very nice of them. I also came in here for lunch with my family recently and the experience was great as well. The service each time has been great, they have the "hostess" situated right at the front when you walk in to great you and find you a table in the artsy, cozy dining room.
The servers have all be pretty knowledgeable and the service attentive whether it is from the actual server, food runner or event he apparent manager walking thru the dining room.
They of course have a great selection of wines (many of which are proudly displayed on the killer looking wall wine rack)...but they also have a great selection of local craft beers for you beer nuts like me. However, the real start for me was the food. With a bistro type menu featuring selections such as a Pear and Gorgonzola flatbread, Honey Chipotle Steak sandwich and even one of my all time favorites, Bacon Wrapped, Goat Cheese Filled Dates, you can find something to pair perfectly with that beverage, or just something different....but they also offer choices for more classic tastes such as a peperoni version of their flatbread, which translates to a perfect thin crust pizza, a cheese burger and even a couple great looking salads. The food quality was obvious, the presentation and price were also on par.
This is all in all what I think of when I think of a Wine Bistro...or even just grabbing nice wine or beer and some good food....and you should too!

This place was a real surprise. A very pleasant european cafe ambiance, great food and wine and a respectable beer list too. All in Escondido! What a nice surprise. The only issue was timing - our main dishes came out when we were maybe half done with our starters. BIG faux pas, guys. Sort that out, and you will be in the running for 5 stars. .

I came here for restaurant week.

The food is pretty good, kind of pricey. I actually don't even remember what I ordered. Guess it wasn't that great?

The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice though.

I was ready for an amazing experience based on the Yelp reviews. It was good but not great.

Pros:
Pretty, stylish decor. I like the red walls and pendant lights. The "living room" area is an interesting seating option. Good for drinks and appetizers, maybe not so good for a full dinner.
Good wine selection.
We ordered a cheese & meat board, and it included really yummy fig compote and honey.
My lobster & shrimp ravioli was tasty and my friend seemed happy with his pesto pasta.
Service was prompt, attentive, and polite.
This is a small touch, but we liked the big glass bottle of water the waiter brought to our table.
Close to home with ample street parking in otherwise-deserted downtown Escondido.

Cons:
On the cheese & meat board, and the cheeses were so mild as to be almost flavorless. That might be what some prefer, but if you're ordering a plank with prosciutto and salami, you're probably ready for something stronger.
The chef cooked my friend's steak wrong. He ordered it medium well and the middle was bright pink throughout. If we're paying $35 for a steak, we expect it to be cooked right.
It might be silly how much this irritated me, but they charge $4 for a bread basket with a few rolls. Talk about nickel-and-diming. Especially annoying when they don't give you nearly enough bread with the board.
The shrimp on top of my ravioli were poorly deveined. I don't want to eat shrimp shit, thanks.
Boring, unappealing dessert options. Good thing if you're on a diet, I guess.

Entwined is a fabulously cozy, urban wine bar and restaurant in the heart of Escondido.

My mom raved about this place endlessly and finally my boyfriend and I made a reservation a couple Saturday nights ago to try it - and were we ever impressed!

We started with a bottle of Duck Pond Pinot and customized a plank (a meat and cheese board that you assemble yourself from a listed assortment - complete with dried fruits, nuts, olives, and delicious spreads).

For dinner, I ordered the gazpacho and my boyfriend ordered the tomato bisque to start, and we both split the goat cheese stuffed chicken for an entree. We indulged way too much throughout dinner to order dessert, but next time I'm considering ordering dessert first as an appetizer - like the group did seated next to us did!

I can't wait to come back and try some of my mom's favorites: the salmon and the Gushing Chocolate Cake - which she claims is her favorite dessert ever, and she is a dessert queen!

This restaurant has an Internet identity crisis. Entwined on the sign, Intertwined is the website. Alright. That's how you want to roll, I get it. Just consider this, then. Any details in my review will be slightly skewed as well. You won't know the real truth. It will be in Intertwined code.

I came here the other night after a visit to the sister office of my company. They have an office in Rancho Bandana. I am fortunate enough to have friends who live in the area and we were all able to meet up. A mini-reunion. It was me, Mark, Mandy, Mina, and Clover. Party of five.

We actually spent a good amount of time at dinner talking about Yelp, specifically about my Yelp reviewing habits and whether or not this should classify as a verb. Jury is still out, though I liberally use Yelp as a verb so you can consider me the Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of this bench. So, now, this is me, Yelping about talking about Yelp. Life in 2013 has come to this. Take it or leave it.

I ordered the salmon and it came out on a burnt stick of wood. I like it when salmon is served this way though I really don't understand the point. I had a hemisphere of rice on the very edge of this wood slab and it was perpetually in danger of invading the nearby napkins and utensils. Like living in the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius, they weren't safe.

Anyway, it all tasted pretty good. The wine list was alright and was pretty cheap, which was an added bonus. We had a Duck Pond Pinot. I think I left some in my glass - LIKE AN IDIOT - but I had to drive two hours to get home so I figured it was better to leave it behind than to, you know, drink it all.

Bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer started it off right. This review is out of order. I hope you can handle that.

I wanted to order the pork chop but I knew that Clover and potentially Mark were going to order it, too, so I refrained. But then I never bothered to ask them how they liked it. In fact, I don't know if Mark even got it. I don't know what I paid attention to at dinner, now that I think of it. I might have been having an out-of-body experience.

Lastly, the hot chocolate and donuts looked pretty tight, Mark ordered them for dessert. The hot chocolate is not a drink. It is literally hot ... chocolate. Put the pause in there and you'll understand. Mandy got the bread pudding, after asking the server if it was any good, and the server responding with, quote, "Psssssssshhhhhhhhhyuuuueeeahhhhh, of course it's good."

Alright. Lengthy descriptions are my strong suit, not hers.

Celebrated my sister in laws engagement. Read all the reviews on this place so we gave it a shot. Love the ambience. Food; lamb shanks, stuffed chicken, lobster ravioli & lobster bisque & appetizers; crab cakes, ahi tuna & calamari were amazing! Waitresses were great. Dessert was the best!!!! Nutter butter mid pie was heaven in our mouths...cant wait to go again. Definitely 5 stars hands down!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Entwined. At first glance I was a bit skeptical since we were the only ones in the restaurant, but it was early on a Saturday night. The environment is small, but inviting.

The food here is very, very good, as was the wine (port for dessert). I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly, and had great flavoring. Based on reading the reviews, we decided to try to doughnuts for dessert, and they are amazing. The only negative thing to mention is that the cost is a bit high, but at the end of the day I was satisfied with what I got for my money. We will definitely be back again.

It's been a while since we've had perfectly executed food.

This place changed all that. In fact we can't stop talking about how great the food is, and every time we've gone here perfection seems to be the norm.

I've had the steaks, the pork chop, the chicken, and the shrimp ravioli across the times I've been here and they always come out perfect. Chicken and shrimp are easy to overcook but when you get it right, going out to eat becomes worth it because you don't tell yourself "even I can cook better than this."

Their flatbreads are sized to share, and are completely delicious.

This place has $5.5 Ruination in bottle and a decent craft beer / wine list.

The interior is classy-rustic yet casual. Their staff are all very customer oriented and friendly.

Thank you Chef Boyd Kerr for bringing Entwined to Escondido!

Edit: I have been here quite a few times now, and quality seems to be dropping just a tad. We're not shy about mentioning anything wrong with the food, and the past few times were disappointingly met with half-sincere apologies. This place still turns out very high quality food, with great favor combinations. Don't let that deter you from trying this place.

A 'must-try' restaurant on Grand Avenue in Escondido. Great appetizers, awesome main courses, extensive wine and beer selection and a cool atmosphere. Amongst other things, Entwined offer a selection of innovative 'planks' with tapas-style appetizers. There's a good selection of entrees too.

The owners, chef and staff at Entwined clearly take pride in providing a great all-round dining experience. When combined with attentive staff and good prices you can't go wrong. We visited on a Friday night and were lucky to snag a small table in the lounge so be sure to make a reservation!

I came here on the recommendation of a co-worker who is an Escondido local. I work nearby and was looking for a tasty place for a quick lunch with one of my friends that was in the area. Upon arrival we were seated right away and handed menus. Our waitress was very attentive. Decor made me feel like I was in a cutesy cellar and made me wish that I didn't have to go back to work so that we could order a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. But a las I settled on some iced tea and the pear gorgonzola flat bread. The tea was good, the ingredients of my flat bread were very fresh, and the dough of the flat bread was thin and crispy. My friend got a salad and added salmon to it which see also seemed to enjoy. This place is definetely a little Escondido gem. I will definately return to try out more of the tasty things on their menu.

So it was a Tuesday night and my niece and I took to Grand Avenue for a few drinks and appetizers, to visit and chat and catch up. We found our selves at Entwined and, were instantly impressed with the decor, and the staff. Ciera enlightened us on the wine selections and other options for dining in the living room area - as we weren't committed for full table service

I can say i really enjoyed the calamari it was fresh & tender. Ciera gave us a bit of history of the owners and their vision for the restaurant and how it is a refreshing departure from corporate run chains.

The chef and his meticulous care to presentation and quality - well that speaks for itself - the burger sliders were divine. Perhaps it was just the wine -- no seriously you must go, when you do, save room for desert they have this chocolate mountain lava thing - yes I did say chocolate - trust me it's good.

The yelps they have "full bar" but i think they only serve wines & beer. But don't let that distract you they have a great selection of wines, by the bottle or by the glass.

I will need to make plans to return for dinner very soon.

OMG!!!! I am so thankful for this place!!!!!!!!!!

Escondido has needed something major! Well, we got it! I tried everything from the appetizers to the signature meals and I was mesmerized! I didn't have dessert because, well I was completely satisfied and didn't need it!

For starters, I had the artichoke, which was very original as it had a balsamic sauce it was laid on and a garlic aioli dip. For dinner, I had the most delectable mahi mahi decorated with an amazing crunchy macadamia crust accompanied by a peanut sauce, chard greens, and a coconut rice that was out of this world! My beautiful husband had the ginger ale pork chop which was actually a pork loin (no bone involved). He couldn't decide which one he wanted more mine or his! Lol! Our server Debra was amazing and honestly, we had the best experience from the second we step foot in the door, The vibe is somewhat of a downtown San Diego feel which I really liked. The crowd was sophisticated 30 and up. We will definitely be be back at least bi- weekly! I am on a diet (last night was a cheat day) otherwise I would be back EVERY day! I cannot wait to try all their other items. I am so excited about this place! :)

I visited entwined for lunch one day to give this new dining spot on Grand a try and it was good. It wasn't fantastic, but good. There weren't many people in there so the service was pretty good, but I sat inside at a table next to the hostess stand so it felt a little awkward having the hostess standing right there next to me while I ate.

What I really wanted was one of the planks with meats and cheeses. I don't know WHY I didn't order one. Dumb, I guess. What I actually ordered was the mac and cheese. It was fine. it was creamy and had good flavor, with a lot of seasoning (pepper) on top. It wasn't the best I've had, but it was good. It was also filling; I couldn't even finish the serving I received. I was too full after that to try any dessert, but I'll definitely come back.

I also had an iced tea. It was fresh brewed, but when I got one of my refills, they brought me the green instead of regular, which was kind of flavorless. The glasses are TOO small, which means for someone like me who drinks a lot, I need a LOT of refills!

The decor is very cute. It's all new and professionally decorated. The location is clean. The staff is very friendly. I like the menu, although maybe a little pricey for lunch. I think my problem is that I want to try more than one thing and once you do that on a menu like this, you're looking at $25+, which is kind of silly for lunch for one.

I hope to go back and try a plank and/or some of the other offerings. I'll let you know how that goes!

What can they do to get five stars?
I need to give them another try. One visit without something really spectacular going on usually won't give me a five star impression. Keeping the tea filled with the right tea would be good. Not being watched by the hostess would be good and food that makes me say "WOW".

Went here with a friend and ordered one of the planks. These are a great deal because you can choose your meats, cheeses, and sides. They were a perfect size for 2 and had good portions. Will definitely go back.

The decor and set up is really nice as well. Good place to chill out with a glass of wine.

What an AMAZING find. I typically find myself heading downtown San Diego for this caliber of cuisine. It's now the"IT" Spot for North County. This doesn't even compare to the other Wine Bars on Grand.

We started off with a glass of their Entwined Merlot, and the Avocado Mango Tower with Crab. Definitely a great start and surprisingly filling for an appetizer.
I enjoyed the 8 oz Filet 8 oz Filet Mignon BLACKBERRY-STOUT DEMI ~ CHARRED GREENS WILD MUSHROOMS ~ GARLIC SMASHED POTATOES.
My date nibbled at the 12 oz Certified Angus New York Strip CRANBERRY-FIG COMPOTE ~ ASPARAGUS BLACK PEPPER-CHIPOTLE DEMI ~ GARLIC SMASHED POTATOES.

Well cooked. Great Presentation.
For Dessert, we enjoyed the doughnuts and Chocolate.
Perfect date night. ! I'll definitely return.

Coming from a guy who is spoiled by the wondrous options of my own neighborhood in North Park. Entwined was an absolute delight! It's atmosphere is charming and the menu has become a to do list for my stomach. So far I've had the stuffed chicken, artichoke app, and the doughnuts/ hot chocolate (more on dessert later!).

The chicken was fantastic so moist and flavorful, the red wine my server Deborah (she is the sweetest!) recommended paired perfectly. The artichoke app was a little bit large for one person, but in I think in a group it would be an amazing compliment to some good wine and conversation!

THE DOUGHNUTS:
Deborah recommended I get the doughnuts and hot chocolate for dessert, I was extremely skeptical. I am a complete chocolate snob and really don't eat a lot of doughnuts either. But after her suggestion on wine I decided to go for it. OMG! These babies should be renamed homemade doughnuts that fall apart if you look at them wrong, and Chocolate from heaven that you can eat with a spoon. I cannot stress that in my entire life I've never said "I can't eat anymore chocolate, it's too rich" before this masterpiece dessert.

Needless to say I will be back and if for nothing else it will be for those doughnuts! Go see for yourself this cozy wonderful restaurant!

For a new restaurant on Grand Avenue, with all those other well-established eateries, this new place appears to be doing quite well. The hostess and wait staff were very friendly and extremely accommodating, and the service was quite good. When we first arrived, it was happy hour and we were still missing one person from our party. We were told happy hour prices only applied in the bar area or the front exterior patio. So, the hostess and waitress were extremely friendly and very flexible in allowing us to first take over a table in the patio for happy hour, and then hold our dining table inside for later. That was quite a feat of quality customer service. Great happy hour prices, and a real nice appetizer selection.

The waitress actually took time to pay attention to my wife's gluten intolerance needs, and patiently sat next to her to address all the possible options. The food was definitely tasty and presented in appropriate proportions. A decent wine selection for such a new place. We will be back to try more things on the menu. So go! I bet you'll love it!

I've been waiting for this wine bar to open for quite some time. It was very cute when we walked in and had a very comfy, up-scale feel to the place. The living room area was open when my & my 4 girlfriends walked in! PERFECT! We find ourselves at Barrel Room in Rancho Bernardo quite often and wanted to see if this wine bar was comparable & it was. However, we're used to the living room being the hot spot where as at Entwined it wan't crowded at all. SO even better for us, cause we hate sitting at the tables and being rushed. We like to hang in the living room for at least a few hours!

The selection for cheese and meat on the planks was not very good. They only had a few choices so we skipped the plank this time. The Mac & cheese was really dry but tasty. If it wasn't dry it would have been perfect.
We ordered a cheese pizza board, I think that's what it was called. DELISH! Probably my favorite dish. Definitely will be back for that.
We also ordered the crab stacker? Or that's what I called it. It was really good but didn't come with anything to dip with it. Like crackers or pita bread. We asked for a cracker, chip or pita bread and they charged extra. LIttle tip for them, they should serve it with something...however, I didn't mind paying a little extra to have some pita bread.

It was a very nice ambient feel to the place and loved the seating. I would definitely go back because there isn't any place like this in Escondido.

One complaint would be the temperature in the building. It was extremely warm at 8:30pm. I couldn't even imagine how hot it would be mid day. The server said it was because of the building be so old the AC unit couldn't keep it cool. They had at least 4 fans running while we were there. Another tip: if the AC can't keep it cold, maybe install ceiling fans.

IF they read this review and make some small changes it's a perfect new spot for Escondido.
Oh & of course the wine & beer list had a great selection. I will be back!

So very pleasantly surprised when we ate at Entwined! It's not just a wine bar! The food is far superior than most wine bars! It's menu is more diverse and rich than you'd expect.

We were greeted by a pleasant hostess and immediately loved the new decor, with rustic wood tables, polished cement floors and lighting that was vintage inspired with the perfect amount of light! They have new rattan chairs that really dress up the booth type seating along the long, narrow walls. In the back near the wine rack is comfy seating in modern stuffed chairs and a couch. Can't wait to use this place meeting up with friends for a glass of wine or a pint!

We started with beer (Oceanside Ale Works Red!!!) and a glass of white wine. The list is plentiful and the beer selection is really impressive. The menu was equally impressive with some great starters, a few choice salads, and some great house selections. We went with filet for the hubby and polenta for me. Both were expertly prepared and served with outstanding presentation. We're in Escondido, right?

I have to say, dinner was good, but thank God I saved room for dessert! I wanted everything they offered and we couldn't pick one we both agreed on so we chose one each! I think hubby was happy because he ate his entire Nutter Butter Mud Pie! I did get a bite and I loved the chocolate bacon brittle! But nothing topped my Hot chocolate and cinnamon donuts! NOTHING! The hot chocolate is served in a small mug with a dab of whipped cream and mint. It's actual hot chocolate! Not the drink, but hot chocolate! The donuts are certainly the best thing I've nearly every eaten! Dipped in the hot chocolate I was actually giddy (and that takes a lot for me!).

This is a place that I hope is around for a long, long time because it could turn into one of my favorite places that everyone is sure to enjoy. The food, the wine, the beer, the atmosphere, all delightful! The owners were super nice and came out to greet us and ask about our meal. A hit for us, but then again, we've got a special place in our hearts for this location as we were married here when it was owned by the previous owner, Coast Bistro. So happy it turned into Entwined! Coast Bistro wasn't open for regular business so now we can have date night where we were married often!

Cheers!
