I'm pretty much on the search for the perfect burger. You name it, Ive tried it and I have to say the Point Break burger gets it right every time! If you want a rich, savory untraditional burger, try this. I also ordered it sub turkey patty on a whole wheat bun last time and it tasted just as good if not better. Great happy hour deals to and they have the best selection of beers on tap aside form a brewery type restaurant in this town. also, bomb sweet potato fries. I want to go back and try their ahi poke because it looked o fresh and good! Only if I can steer myself away from this burger! I really can't believe I took so many years to come back to this place but now that I have it's one of my faves!

We used to go all the time, but they stopped offering kids eat free. I still enjoy their food, just expensive with a family of 5. I like the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Big Wave.

Sometimes the service is great and sometimes it is very bad. Went in last Monday and the host told us that it would be a 15-20 minute wait. I thought it was a little odd becuase I saw plenty of open tables. We told him that we would wait and we were seated within 5 minutes. The host   told another couple that there would be a 15 minute wait so  they left but the family that came in after that couple were seated right away. He seemed pretty clueless becuase he was telling everyone who walked in the door that there was a wait when there was not.
The food was good and the server was friendly but not very attentive.

FYI: This restaurant no longer offers Kids Eat Free on Mondays

Average place with not so average prices. Too expensive for quality period!

This islands has been open for some years now and I enjoy it a lot. I always order the Kilauea on wheat (absolutely delicius by the way) and fries. The only problem I really have is that it's a little more expensive than Red Robin. I mean it's a good burger don't get me wrong but not $8.99 good. I'd rather spend money at five guys or in an out and get one thats just as good. Great place just not great prices. On tuesdays though is kids eat free and I sometimes bring my younger brother and sister there.

Food ok. Service ok. Better fish tacos at rubios or wahoos.

Once again, amazing service! Went in for drinks and appetizers so sat in bar. Brian the manager always makes it a point to come over and say hi. And remembers us. This time I ordered teriyaki wings. The kitchen accidently made them buffalo. So since they remade. They comped my order. They didn't have to do that I was fine waiting a couple minutes. The French fries are yummy and the hamburgers are delicious!!! For a fun night out. Highly recommend.

I might have given the meal 5 stars if not for the SLOW kitchen (we were there for 2 hours). But the meal was great and the manager more than made up for the slow service with her understanding and attentiveness.

Could have had better and cheaper burgers elsewhere. We had the Point Break and Kilauea burgers. Didn't quite satisfy my burger craving.

I went here with some family the other day (admittedly not my choice at all) and was not impressed. I've been to other islands before, and while certainly a far cry from a great dining experience, they were at the very least serviceable.
Not the case here. While the food was (predictably) whatever, the service was particularly poor. There was no sense of flow/table management, and we repeatedly had to make the same requests (and, on top of that, when filled, were done so in a way to completely disrupt conversation)

On, a positive note they offer an array of decent-sized burgers, along with chicken and limited fish options. The onion rings were quite tasty too.

Ended up at Islands after our Mud Run and wine tasting adventure in Temecula.  All Islands restaurants are generally the same.  However, our server (I believe her name was Melissa... wore glasses) for our visit was exceptional.  Made a note to myself to give her props on Yelp.

I used to really love Islands but one day I asked the waitress if they ground their own meat.  Nope.  They use a frozen patty.  Seriously?  I would stop going to this place except that my kids love this place.  Fortunately, I discovered their beer and I believe that it will help to kill all the E-Coli bacteria in your stomach.  lol.   Still love their burger though.

Yuck, no flavor no love in the burger!.. never go back again. Plain as could be. The server was very slow!.. no silverware no water!.. borring and to many kids hollering asking for food. Dont get me wrong, I like kids just when your out and about they should behave. Not jumping all over the seats and running to the restroom. We were never allowed to behave like the kids do in Restaurants what wrong with the new generation. Back to the food!.. Nope never go back!.. expensive and not worth the money!.

I have been here and the Carmel Ranch location on numerous occasions.

And even though I can't get a medium rare burger, I can say their burgers are quite tasty.

I also love their chicken sandwiches. The Shorebird (with pickles) and the Sandpiper (with sauteed mushrooms) are wonderful.

Islands also has the best "fresh-cut" fries anywhere (better and more consistent than 5 Guys) ... and their cheddar fries with ranch dressing are "evil"!!

Over all a very good restaurant chain.
I would also suggest the Baja Tacos and Yaki Tacos.

They also have a decent Happy Hour in the bar.
24 oz. beers, free chips and salsa etc.

Just give me a damn MEDIUM RARE burger, Islands!

By the way another Yelper (Mike L.) said Island's uses a "frozen" hamburger patty.
And that is just a bold faced LIE. Their hamburger patties are fresh, never frozen. I know this for a fact.

Why doesn't the Yelp "filter" system filter out reviews like his?
No, it just "filters" out legitimate reviews.

Great food, decent prices, and great service!  The atmosphere is fun and I have been enjoying Island's from San Diego to Temecula, and have never been disappointed.  They even remember the old menus because I order a chicken sandwich they no longer have on the menu, but they still always know what I'm talking about.  Can be loud at dinner time with children, but since we have a little one now, not too concerned about the noise level.

What a waste of money. You'd be better off going across to the street to Yellow Basket to get your food and it would cost a great deal less. I ordered a Margarita, on the rocks, no salt. It cost me $7.49. It was probably the worst margarita I have ever had. It was watered down, mostly ice in the glass. The mix they use is far too sweet and honestly I don't think there was any tequilla in it!. What a waste of money. I had the chicken tacos. two small pieces of dried out chicken in a cold flour tortilla. They should be ashamed of themselves. And I haven't even discussed the burger that my son had. Whatever!

I usually like Islands but the one here in Temecula is not the best.  The food is okay and the fish tacos I had were spoiled.  I'm assuming they were out for a while.  Won't be eating here again for awhile!!

Islands is always a sure thing. Whether it be a good meal or a cold drink, they are guaranteed to deliver.

This location had friendly and attentive service. I sat in the bar and the restaurant has a nice upbeat vibe.

Their french fries are a must order! I also had a banana daiquiri which was so tasty. It was made with real bananas and was mouth watering with the french fries.

Islands also offers really good drink specials and appetizers during happy hour. I will definitely be coming back for that!

This place is delicious! However, if you're looking for good nachos, this is NOT the place for them. Go to TGI Friday's instead if you're looking for a huugee plate of nachos for 5 BUCKS during happy hour :)

Anyway, the staff is always pretty nice, wait time isn't terrible, and their burger choices are tasty!

I'm glad this place is still in business. However, 4 stars until the nachos are improved :)

This place used to have HUGE burgers when they first came out many years ago. I came back to one and their burgers are now about 1/4 of the size they used to be for the same price. I was very disappointed paying so much for a burger the same size that I could've got at Carls Junior and pretty much the same quality unfortunately.

Always good food, however... This place tried it's hand at being a Sunday football destination and failed miserably. We are willing to spend a minimum of three hours eating and drinking with our friends an they do not offer a single "football happy hour special"?!? Are you kidding me? There are Plenty of local places that understand that a lot of TV's are not enough to draw in a crowd every Sunday. We made the mistake of going ther last Sunday to watch a game, and found the place absolutely deserted. Bad , bad atmosphere to watch a game.  Go ANYWHERE but here for Sunday football

Short and sweet, went for lunch monday, had to send the same food back twice and still didnt eat it and paid for it..Then menu shows nachos how they come, they come different with half melted cheese, the bartender said "i know, weird that the pic shows that and they dont come that way"??!! They also show a list of cocktails in pint glasses, $9.00 and you get it and its in a very small 3 sip double old fashion style glass which seems smaller and yes were there at Happy Hour, the bartender says sorry ill make you another one that i still pay for..Aaahhhh..O and for the record, my Bartender was awesome, his brother took over when he left, he was ok  ;-) Its not drive through but you dont get what you pay for...P.S. Last week i went in for lunch and the chicken tacos were nasty and way over priced, WAY..Yoy may as well invest in a real chef and pay that extra $$$ and make real food for what your spending now...Really!!!

This is your average Islands, which is better than your average Applebees, which is better than your average Coco's, etc, etc.

I'd say its a place everybody should try at least once. They have good burgers, good fries and a family friendly version of that 'surfer dude' atmosphere.

The staff is always friendly, and the food has never taken 'forever' for me, though I always go there with good company, and never alone.

Nino didn't seem to like it as a date atmosphere, but his date obviously liked the place, so its probably a personality thing.

I like their burgers, I like the whole 'surf / skate / board culture', I like the friendly service, their prices aren't outrageous if realize you're not at Jack in the Box.

I think its worthy of 4/5 stars.

Islands has always been one of my favorites.  Consistently good food and a laid back atmosphere.  However, it's one of those places where I just don't see the value.  My wife and I went here today and for two drinks and two burgers it was $33 with tip.  I just think there are a lot of other places you could go and get a lot more for the money.  Yard House is just down the street and is soooo much better and similarly priced.  I know Islands raised their prices recently but the quality and selection didn't change.  If you go, you won't be disappointed, just don't expect to be overwhelmed.

Islands is kind of lost in the sea of burgers.

#1 they are VERY expensive - watch your wallet her
#2 the food is good, but not worth the price you pay
#3 the service is good, but I would expect crazy good service for this price.

The televisions are a nice twist.  The food is good (actually really liked the Turkey burger) but did I mention the price?  My wife had the torilla soup and loved it.  They give a TINY amount of fries in the basket.

NO SWEET & LOW (how cheap is that)...I stop going to places that don't serve SWEET & LOW!  (seriously)

Why pay this much?  I guess I just don't get it!

The food gets a 2. The bar gets a 4.

Great selection of wide screen tv's to catch a game, and the taps are geared towards local beers and euro-brews. Only two taps were spewing garbage (ie Coors Light and Bud Light).

The food wasn't bad. But it wasn't superior either. Personally, I look at Islands as a place to go get sh1tfaced and watch a game...where the food's taste won't matter too much after a few pitchers. I dig the atmosphere and the bar.

This was my first time ever experiencing Island's.  I think if I had a family with a couple of little ones, I'd appreciate this place more.  Lots of tvs to catch a game and a fun menu for kids.  But as a single, male Yelper, this place should not be on your rotation.

I was here on a first date...her suggestion.  My date raved about the chicken tortilla soup being super good here.  I didn't really care where we went, just as long as we could sit and talk.  I did try the tortilla soup and it was very good.  Not too salty and they gave a side of tortillas to place in the soup when needed.  This is important because preloading the tortillas makes them soggy.  I'm all about crunch, so adding them at your leisure is the the only way to go.

I would say that the soup alone is worthy of the 2-star rating.  I ordered some chicken tender app.  I wasn't hungry at all.  But I thought it was appropriate for me to order something.  I would compare them to something you'd find at KFC or the frozen food aisle of Vons.

I realized Island's was a family place as soon as I parked.  So if you have a family and are looking to a have a decent dinner out, then Island's is for you.  But if you're a single guy looking for ideas for a good first date, don't do it here...unless, of course, she insists.

    Aloha means goodbye...
