Popped in here last night for a beer or two with my Brother.. Â It is VERY dark.. Â The bar is right by the main entrance, at times it can get a bit chilly when door is being opened. Â But, our bartender was quick and efficient.. Â Our drinks were cold and kept full and very reasonably priced.. Â They have $2.00 Jello Shots (what is better than that) and a pretty sweet juke box player.. Â I figured out why it was so dark, the average age of the customers is about 127 years old.. Â I am pretty sure I saw a few booths with people that did not seem to be moving much..
The restroom? Â Pretty gross. Â You walk in (mens room anyway) and you feel like you are in a maze.. Â When you get around the two cement walls in to the actual bathroom area it is foul smelling and very outdated.. Â If your food for some reason didn't agree with you, well, you could not use the facilities, unless you don't care about going #2 in front of anyone that comes in, there is no door on the toilet area..

We tried to go to dinner, this past friday night. We had always heard how good the food is. We got there around 8pm put our name on the wait list which there was only one party of 2 in front of us. About 20 minutes later 3 tables opened up 2 small tables and 1 large. So the party in front of us was seated at a small table, and while we were waiting to be seated at the other small table. I overheard one of the waitress's say she was saving that table. So we asked her about it, since we were waiting to eat and had money in our pocket. She proceded to tell us she was saving it for regulars who may or may not be in. but she was going to save it anyway. Personally I don't care how good people think the food is, you should never treat customers like that. In this economy there are plenty of places that welcome your business. Very disappointed and will tell anyone who evre asks me about the place, and I live in town.
Review Source:This is my favorite "townie bar" ever. Perhaps I am partial due to the fact that it is so close to my house and I know many of the regulars and staff personally. The Pizzas are excellent (Go on half-price Monday) and the rest of the menu is ambitious and reasonably priced. When I come to JJ's I always feel like I'm welcome and my presence and patronage is appreciated, (something I rarely get in my never ending bar hop.) I feel like those who have discounted this place have misunderstood what makes it special and they are missing out on a perfectly good and unique bar in a world of never ending overpriced trendy bars and restaurants, chain or otherwise. Unlike a similar bar down the street, this establishment serves shots, mixed drinks and serves delicious popcorn for free.
Review Source:This is one of my favorite places of all-time...I can't believe it's in my little hometown Hanson! The beer is cheeeeap, the pub-style food is good, and they offer popcorn and cheese and crackers when you sit. They have 1/2 price pizza deals on Monday and Tuesday nights - how can you beat that?! It's a popular family dinner spot, so it can get loud around that time, but the atmosphere is warm, like being in somebody's house. The bar is decorated by pretty white Christmas lights. All the servers have been there a while (I think many are family) and they're all so sweet.
Great place to hang out with friends, watch a game on TV, play some songs on the jukebox, and don't miss the Lord of the Rings pinball machine!
