  A classy joint for out of towners wanting to get their groove on. You can learn some new moves from the locals, enjoy the longing stares of the lonelies, and sing your heart out with the cowboys. Tips: go potty before you go, don't look at the ceiling, and heed the big green sign above the dance floor.

  This is me, admitting to the world I go to Jacks.  Not sure how it got its name, but it's the side lounge to The Golden Rose Restaurant .  Chinese food, if you couldn't tell.  I love to dance and unfortunately (fortunately) Jacks is the only place late night in Hood River to get your groove on.  It's a mixed group....old, young, tourist, locals, kiteboarders, and cowboys.  ATM, video poker, and a vending machine full of cigs are also available.  This place is dirty and a dive.  That's why I love it so much.  
  
  As a local, here are a few tips:  
  
  1.  Don't go if you're sober.
  2.  Have your ID ready at the door.  They card everyone.  
  3.  Drink the juice.  The Scorpion Bowl that is.  Small or large, just do it.  Your body will hate you the next day.  I personally think it tastes like orange hi-c.
  4.  Arrive around 9 if you want to sing karaoke.
  5.  Arrive after midnight if you just want to dance.
  6.  Do not take your beverages onto the dance floor.. you will get yelled at.  "Security" is watching you like a hawk.
  7.  Admire the wallpaper.
  8.  Tell Sonny I sent you.

  Jacks has karaoke, bar, dance floor and lounge where you can sing, drink and dance. You can order chinese food as well because in the day time its the Hood River Restaurant (chinese/american food).
  
  The scorpian bowl are great, and good selections of beers.
