Me and three other friends saw signs while ridding the Rock island trail through Dunlap. We got there 45 min. after closing but the owner had just walked out and offered to open up for icecream. I had cookies and cream yogurt. The others got shakes. We were offered to fill up our water bottles too. Great pit stop on the trail and 5 stars for great icecream!
Review Source:In the small town of Dunlap, right along the Rock Island Bike Trail, we found this small eatery. Â A large sign boasted soft serve ice cream, but since it was the middle of winter- we passed on that.
We walked in shortly before they were closing, but the owner happily served us. Â Being a hamburger junkie, I inquired about the beef for his burgers. Â He claimed they were fresh Angus, not the frozen patties that have become the norm for a lot of restaurants lately. Â (Your Sysco rep tells you they're just as good, maybe better!! Â THEY'RE NOT) Â
The wife had a Reuben, I had the burger, we ate , we paid, we left- the food was not outstanding, but by no means was it bad either. Â It was just OK- which is just fine sometimes. Â
The owner stated that the place really shines in the summer, when he serves what he claims to be the only Soft Serve Edy's ice cream in the state. Â Will we be back? Maybe, but it's worth too far of a drive.
