Go during the day. According to the lone waitress working, it gets crazy after 6pm

I'm surprised that Jasmine's barely has any reviews and that not many people know of this place.
Ya the place doesn't allow alcohol, but it's not much of a partying place like Kush anyways. It's a very relaxed, chill environment. If you're wanting to drink, II charlies is right next door.

The hookah is cheap, yet good. They also don't charge you per person, even if the person with you isn't smoking. I just wouldn't suggest trying to share one hookah with 10 people. That's kind of excessive and not enjoyable anyways.

    The food is OUTSTANDING.
Ya I'm a little biased, I worked there well over a year ago (not anymore), but I've also eaten everything on the menu. The typical clientele are middle eastern students who are studying abroad, if that emphasizes how good/authentic the food is.
I still return regularly, because I'm addicted to their french fries and shish tawook wrap. My favourites are the shish tawook wrap, their french fries (reminds me of german pommes frites), their lamb, rice, yogurt salad, falafel, lentil soup, even their burger.

I will admit that I wasn't a fan of the beef shwarma meat or their falafel wrap. I don't like the combination of ingredients in the wrap and the beef shwarma meat is too dry for my liking. There was a large number of clientele that loved these items, but I think you have to have a specific taste for it.

The place itself never gets too smokey unless there's a large amount of grilled meat orders, so don't be intimidated by it also being a hookah lounge. The have vents to take care of all the hookah smoke, so it's never as smokey as other hookah lounges like Natalie's or Kush. The owner also keeps everything extremely clean, which is so nice to know.

Also for those that haven't gone near closing time, the closing hours aren't set in stone. They won't stay open for later than listed (although they might accept non-cooked togo orders like hummus), but they occasionally do close earlier than what they have posted, especially on weekdays. So don't be surprised.

Great food and environment, wish it was BYOB like other hookah lounges though.

This is a great place to get authentic arab/greek/lebanese food!
The prices are pretty reasonable for what you get --- well cooked, generous portions of home-made food. That's pretty rare these days.

You should try the Grilled Chicken Sandwich if you're looking for something quick.
Get a plate if you're hungry --- OMG, so much food.

And maybe wash it down with a baklava.
Plus they have hookahs, if you're into that sort of thing.

This is only a review for a gyro. No more, no less. My husband was nice and brought me lunch, and I admit, I hadn't hurried here because I'm not a fan of indoor smoking at restaurants.  That being said, I'd do take out again. The gyro was great. The meat had a nice sear, the veggies were fresh, the pita was warm and not oily. I would have liked a tad bit more of the tzatiki-style sauce, but it wasn't a deal-breaker.

I like the ambiance of this shop; it's open-spaced and the music isn't loud that you can't hear anyone talking. The first time I came here, service was not bad. Our server was nice enough, but didn't smile much. She kept up when our hookah needed a little adjusting. We asked for bubbles (which they don't normally do), and she was like "Yeah, sure", and came and watched us for a little.

The second time our server was pretty bad. She took way too long to actually get our food/hookah order. Hardly came to check up on us and all that. I had to get up and get my own water. But, the shop is rather chill so I didn't find it too much of a big deal.

A good thing is the quality of the hookah. It's always been good each time, richer than Kush. While Kush sometimes leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth and always have to put 4 times more effort to get the smoke, Jasmines is thicker and cheaper too. The taste is always been good and adding ice doesn't hurt.

The distance from TWU is great too. Walking distance. Great when you don't have a car.

Located where the old Payless Video was, this place screams for attention on a strip long forgotten. This is actually the second store and there is "Jasmine I" in Richardson...? We'll just say it's trying to fit in with II Charlie's next door.

This place is surprisingly spacious with seats that cater to people who need to study, eat, or just sit in a circle and smoke. There are flat screen TVs that used to play fun ethnic music videos, but the last time I went, they had stuff like Eminem and Katy Perry. To mis-quote Anna Nicole Smith with a less-than-sexy hip-wiggle: "Atmosphere, baby!"

The selection in tobacco is pretty vast and rather enjoyable to mix and match, but my ill-thought-out mixes always comes out tasting like ass or licorice. The prices are comparable to the other hookah joints in Denton, but the best part about this place is that it isn't dominated by a bunch of 18-year-old high schoolers. Sure, I love high-schoolers, but only if they shut the hell up.

The food is pretty Mediterranean, which is probably smart because it'd be weird to hookah while eating a hot-dog or something. The food is actually pretty good. It's sort of pricey, but this place doesn't really seem like the place you'd go there specifically for food. The hummus is odd tasting, but at least it's supposedly homemade. That's all the reassurance I need to order food again.

Oh, this place is not BYOB. I dunno why, but if they did instigate it, I'd be there a lot more often with a bottle of Mickey's. Maybe they have their own personal reasons or they don't want drunk people? However, you can still go next door to II Charlie's for your suds and spirits. I guess drunk before or drunk after Jasmine's = the same parking lot.
