Went back 2 more times and had the duck curry. Â It was served cold and was not bad. Â They brought the main dish out too soon as we had just started eating our appetizer. Â That may have contributed to the temperature of the food. Â The following trip I ordered the pad si ew or drunkin noodle. Â It's generally one of my favorite dishes I get at a thai restaurant. Â This was the worst version of it I had ever had. Â There were not enough vegetables, only a few pieces of brocolli and no fennel. Â This dish is traditionally served with fennel in it to give it the slightly anise flavor the dish should have. Â I'm sure fennel may be difficult to get in Harrison, but perhaps they shouldn't have it on the menu if it doesn't resemble the traditional dish. Â I also had the orange chicken appetizer, which lacked flavor. There isn't much in the way of great ethnic food in this town, so I suggest dropping in. Â Just understand that your getting sub par thai.
Review Source:Really GREAT Thai food. Â If you need heat ask for the fish sauce - it will LIGHT YOU UP! All the food was fresh & served piping hot. The spicy noodles with beef was excellent. Â The calamari were crisp & light.
Staff was extremely attentive & always provided service with a big smile. Â A great local find.
Run by a Thai family (my dad's spent quite a bit of time in Bangkok & had the charming lady owner giggling about disreputable places they both knew about).
The food is here is authentic, according to Dad, and good according to me. If you want spice, just request it. They must cater to local tastes and don't take chances on having a dish returned as inedible because it is too hot for the local palate.
I really recommend the lemongrass soup w/ shrimp. You can order it for several people and it is really good, full of interesting things to fish out of a flavorful savory broth. I'm afraid the soup was my entire lunch as I just wasn't feeling great that day, but I loved it and my father and daughter loved what they received as well.
I don't think you'll find another restaurant with Asian food this caliber in NW Arkansas.
We love Jasmine Thai for so many reasons!
1- prices are reasonable
2- the food is fresh and beautifully presented
3- you can order your heat level (from 1 to 10) so my heat-crazed husband can sweat and cry while he eats (and love every bit of it)
4- it's quiet and peaceful
5- they give the kids suckers and the grownups delicious coffee candies as you check out
6- in a small town, this is one of the best (and only) authentic ethnic restaurant options
Our favorites: Â The red curry, green curry, pad thai and the pineapple fried rice for our kids. Â I do wish they had a kids' menu with a few more kid-friendly options, but one order of the fried rice will easily feed 2-4 small ones.
I did use a coupon from http://restaurant.com once and get some hassle about meeting every requirement of the coupon to the letter (i.e., I had to order something on a plate, then pack it up to go to meet our minimum purchase order-- not allowed to just order it to go per the coupon. Â Silly, if you ask me). Â Other than that, service is always friendly and fast. Â
We eat here at least once a month. Â Highly recommended!
Jasmine Thai was a pleasant surprise. Excellent service, and tasty food. The heat level is low but I'm ok with that. There was a nice condiment on the table that added a little heat for those that sought it. The entree portions are generous and the honey sweetened tea was very good. We did not have appetizers but did enjoy the sticky rice and mango dessert. This is a nice introduction to Thai food for the uninitiated, it's not too foreign. Go and enjoy!
