Word on the street is this used to be Acme oysters. I tried my first and only Po-Boy here. Not sure if that's sacrilegious, but it is what it is. Not sure if it's a bad Po-Boy, but it's more likely that I don't like Po-Boys.

For airport oysters - I'm putting this as a close second to Legal in Term C BOS.

Yes, I am a fan and for that reason a four star rating by me. You do have to consider this place is located at the New Orleans International Airport (MSY). And that does not say much for it you have a half way decent eating and drinking establishment at the airport you are on the top of the mountain. Unfortunately our airport has not been know for culinary delights. On a brighter side change is a coming since the corruption of the past for contracts at the airport are hopefully in the past.

As to the Jazz Alley my better half and I make a visit whenever we have the opportunity. She does travel quite a bit with her business and we are at MSY a lot.

If you need a decent meal and a nice drink this is the place to stop. It is outside the security check in point so even if you are not traveling it is available to you.

The drinks are nice and my favorite is their Bloody Mary. You will need to add Tabasco if you are like me. Expensive but it is the airport and I guess you expect to pay more with a location that does not give customers a wide choice of where to spend their money.

The food is good and I have always enjoyed whatever is ordered. Had some good oysters here. Today we shared a grilled chicken. Served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, and a pickle along with French fries. Our waitress came by some time after we ordered and told us it  would be ready in a little while for it was being cooked. We were not in a rush and that is a turn on to me. Meant that the chicken was not precooked and under a heat lamp. And we enjoyed the meal.

Just to give you a price idea two Bloody Marys and two Ketel Ones with the chicken sandwich with tax cost $52.39.

Service is very friendly and I look to have either Ana H. or Nicki W. take care of us.

MSY is nothing like IAH (Houston International) as far as restaurants, shops, and whatever to enjoy at an airport. IAH is my favorite airport to hang around in for food and shopping.

Jazz Alley is one of only three bars at the airport that I enjoy. The other bars are either too small or lack the customers that I like to have at a bar while I am there. Yeah I don't like to drink at an empty bar.

This bar is almost always the busiest bar at the airport and Denise is a good bartender that knows how to multi-task while making small-talk.

I almost always base my reviews on bars on two criteria: 1. Ambiance 2. Level of Enjoyment. If the bar has terrible well brands, cheap beer and wine, or if the bar has an activator ring to regulate pours (i.e. weak drinks) are all things I can live with but if the ambiance sucks and I am not having fun while drinking I will look elsewhere to have a drink. Give me a fun bartender, a cool bar, and great company and I am set.

Jazz Alley is located next to Acme Oyster House between Concourses C and D and is in an area outside of security. So technically you could get a good buzz at the airport even if you are not there to travel.
