If you don't mind partying with the cast of the Jersey Shore, along with assorted guidos and guidettes that occupy this part of the Garden State, check your brain at the door and then you will have a great time dancing the night away at Jenks to a good mix of rock, pop, hip hop, and house music.
We usually make a few weekend summer getaways to Point Pleasant Beach and always look forward to spending a few nights here. The club is spacious, the mixed crowd is actually pretty chill, and the drinks are really cheap. Usually there is always some sort of beer and drink specials going on Fri and Sat nights. Even the bartenders are pretty nice. If hungry they run the dining area adjacent to the club with in and out privileges that is open until late. Open during the day too with great views of the beach/ocean and there are flat screens all around to catch a game.
Some of the best times we have had here are when they feature cover bands such as The Nerds, Big Orange Cone, and The Benjamins. All these bands are really fun and the place is a big party when they perform. From what I have read there was big damage from hurricane Sandy but they have done a great job rebuilding the boardwalk and reopening Jenks. So we can't wait to possibly head down there this summer to take in a few weekends and party. We've always had a great time here.
What's not to like? It's right on the beach, music is great, people there are nice, food is close, and the drinks are cheap. Just don't expect an overpriced pretentious Manhattan type club which is all for the better anyway.
So I'm going to through this out there, I am a Staten Islander and although I am by no means a "guidette" but there is a part of me that loves partying with guidos at the Jersey Shore.
That being said I absolutely loved it here, the music was great the night started with a live cover band, which I thought was going to be lame but was surprisingly a lot of fun, and then went on to the DJ which was awesome perfect for fist pumping lol. Also, loved the setup, had the bars on the side, your dance floor, and the deck out back which was great.
So if you are looking to party Jersey Shore style you may just love Jenks as much as I do, but other wise it may not be the spot for you.
I love the term "Locals Only". Â What it really means is:
* $2 beers and $1 drinks...till close.
* Drunk dancing to pop, hip hop and house music
* Mingling, laughing, and getting rowdy with point residents in an 8-bar giant venue with a great vibe
* No brawls to worry about between loser BENNY's.
Local Appreciation night...what a concept.
REVIEW for OCEANSIDE DINING RM: so Jenks which is always clean and nice seems to have spruced up again - looks great - with a new menu full of extra fresh offerings like locally caught NJ fish, fresh-baked sourdough bread, and Jersey picked corn & tomatoes.
Dining Oceanside with live music on an early June evening is always nice but what made it extra special was that tonight, Perky Penguin (the Jenks aquarium mascot) made an appearance. He spent lots of time with my toddler both at the table and on the dance floor. It was awesome.
Local grouper with a nice, chunky puttanesca sauce was delicious and a huge portion! Hubby's seafood pot pie was fresh. Bro-in-law's steak slightly over cooked. White sangria was carbonated (?) and very peachy but still pretty good. Fun!
i really only want to go here in the winter. for what it is, prices are completely ridiculous in the summer. $15 cover and $10 drinks, are you kidding me? who do they think they are? the dj is ok (usually dj prime, i think), and spins a mix of pop, a liiittle bit house, some old-school stuff like rap/hip-hop and 90's pop. so it's a fun mix if you're into that sort of thing. or if you're with a big group, that way everyone is happy. the cover bands are usually painful to listen to. that's really the best way to go, with a big group. it's not a great atmosphere, other than the fact that you'll see a ton of people you know and it's the standard go-to place on the boardwalk. saw the jersey shore cast here, but they left early probably from boredom..not really much going on here. and the bar tenders make pretty terrible drinks, so stick with beer.
Review Source:I came here for the first time to celebrate my 21st birthday, but was turned away because my NJ license was a vertical "under 21" license despite being 21 and a few weeks already. Apparently it is too difficult for Jenk's employees to subtract my birthdate and calculate what age I am. Â When I brought this up, they "relented" and asked if I had my passport. No, I don't have my passport and I don't know anyone who does carry their passport around so they can go drinking at a bar either.
My GOVERNMENT-ISSUED student ID as well as the many other forms of ID I had proving that I was indeed this person was not enough. I wasn't able to get in and had to drive 45 minutes back on the night of my birthday celebration. Thanks, Jenk's. The rules for getting into Jenk's are borderline draconinan.
I later went with a friend during the day time and did not have trouble getting a drink but although the view is nice, the subpar drinks were not worth the cost. The only good thing about this place is that you're able to drink on the beach.
Trying to avoid Seaside, my friend and I took some out of state friends here for the Jersey Shore experience without seeing the "Jersey Shore" cast. The DJ was great, the dance floor was crowded (on a Friday night) and it was HOT inside (but hotter outside- during July heat wave) and the music was incredibly LOUD... Â A band came on about midnight. Â They were fun and a nice way to break up the night (we even danced on stage with them). Â The DJ came back on after and was even louder and the place more crowded. Â But we quickly realized it was because the "Jersey Shore" cast WAS there! Â So we hung out in the VIP section until last call.
Overall, the place is set up nicely, it's a lot bigger than I thought. Â But if you don't know it's behind the food court, you'll never find it (we asked several cops along the way where to go). Â The drinks are expensive! Â ($6 beers and $9 mixed drinks.) Â And the DJ was WAY too loud, but I have a feeling it was just because of all the cameras this evening. Â It was just abnormally loud and hot in there. Â We did have a good time though, and will probably be back (after cheap drinks somewhere else!). Â =)
I actually came to Jenks for the first time and I was pretty impressed. Â Really cool bar on the boardwalk that also overlooks the beach and has a nice outdoor seating section. Â I have not had the food here but there are a lot of different options to choose from.
My wife and I set up shop at one of the many bars they have and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. Â That is a plus. Â There are TV's pretty much everywhere, so you can catch the Yanks while you are here. Â Prices are pretty standard for a beach bar at $5 bucks a beer. Â I did see someone come up to the bar and order a captain and coke. Â $11 - OUCH. Â I thought that was a little over the top. Â
The one thing that I thought was real cool was that they had a band playing during the day on a Saturday. Â The band "No Standards" plays there every Saturday in the summer from 2pm-6pm. Â They were actually pretty good, too. Â They did a good job with some classic rock and some new stuff. Â There is something about being at the beach on a nice day, having some drinks and listening to some live music. Â Pretty awesome. Â
All in all, we had a very enjoyable afternoon hanging out here for a while. Â I am actually looking forward to heading back.
Jenks is a club attached to a restaurant on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant beach. Pretty much everyone that wants to avoid seaside goes to Jenks.
They had a local cover band named Lifespeed which was pretty kick ass. However I found it incredibly strange that this was a rock and roll cover band and in between sets the DJ started spinning house music. How about sticking to one format?
The place was packed beyond belief with a very diverse crowd. Half of the people were dressed to go out, and the other half were wearing shorts and Yankees caps. Â The bars were pretty packed and there was a wait to order drinks. Â
The bathroom situation is an absolute disaster. There is only one bathroom near the front of the venue, so it takes you about 20 minutes of pushing through the crowd to get there. The bathroom is located next to the exit so you have a huge bottleneck of people trying to get out and people waiting in line. I'm surprised the fire marshall hasn't shut this place down as it is a HUGE fire hazzard.
It's definitely possible to have a good time (need alcohol) here as the place was packed and the band was good. Otherwise it's a pretty unspectacular place to party.
any jersey shore local who complains about guidos and bennys will put thier foot in their mouth after going to this place in the winter. Â plenty of locals wearing ed hardy shirts and girls with the jean/high heel combo (look at me i need attention!!!) acting just as bad if not worse as their north jersey/ny counterparts.
as far as the music:well once again it's the jersey shore so what do you expect?  cover bands-big bang baby( i suspect anyone who names their "band" after an stp song) with a singer who spends more time on his hair then  doing warmups, absolutely butchering a lady gaga song.  and djs who play mashups and other generic house music.
but if you are in your early 20s and culturally retarded this is your place!!!!
I, like most people who grew up in Point Pleasant, have a love/hate relationship with Jenks. Through this review, I hope to sort things out so that me and "the Jersey Shore's Hottest Nightclub" can finally make up for good.
I'll start with the bad: As a local, Jenks epitomizes everything that is wrong with the area during the summer. Benny's fill the venue and act like they own the place. Drinks are pretty pricey considering they use really crappy liquor. Plus, I have been there so many effin' times, I hope to never again listen to a cover version of "Livin' on a Prayer" for as long as I live. To put it tritely, it gets old.
But, the fact is, if you are there for a weekend, you're in a fun-loving mood, and you are with people with whom you enjoy spending time, Jenks (and a high blood-alcohol level) can be the fuel for one of those summer nights you hope you can relive over and over again. You can probably hook up pretty easily too. There is always a wide variety of people there, so you'll probably find someone you like.
However, in the interest of full disclosure, I know the manager very well and had connections with many of the bartenders so I never had to pay cover or barely anything for drinks. So, that can certainly make a night more enjoyable.
Wednesdays during the summer are locals nights. They have beerpong and cheap pitchers. That is always a fun time. It's in a great location, right on the beach, and the DJ is usually pretty decent.
Basically, go, get hammered, ignore the guidos (or watch and laugh), and sing and dance until you puke. Then walk over to Joey Tomatoes, grab a slice, and head back for seconds. Jenks is best when you just let loose.
I have been to Jenks countless times and its always a good time when I go.
Every Saturday they usually have a band. The Benjamins, a local Jersey cover band, frequents their most Saturday nights and they never disappoint. The crowd is mixed. From young yuppie kids to middle aged throw back juice heads. The dress is casual. It has an indoor and outdoor bar setting. I highly suggest getting there early because the bar can back up a good 20 minutes or so given the size of the crowd. Buy 2 drinks at a time if they let you to avoid being annoyed by this.
Try to stay away from the throw back older juice heads. They like to start problems and rekindle their Jersey Shore memories by getting in the face of some poor young kid. I've seen it go down over a dozen times, fights started by them just because their washed up and need to feel important.
Food here is really good if you get a chance to come earlier in the day when it's just a restaurant. Cover is usually $5 or $10. Sometimes they do ladies night free. Jello Shots are really good here. Its a fun place to hang out and enjoy live music. I would recommend checking this place out, just stay away from those juice heads! You'll know who they are ;)
I'm way over my club days, but for a more diverse type NJ shore club, this is a change. They have a few different house bands that perfom and since my taste in music is now more diverse, I like hearing a band every now and then. The crowd is mixed, though if you are in your late 20s or 30s you will be the oldest there. Drink prices aren't that bad either, at least for beer. The place is open all year round and I've went in Mid March-April where it was empty, thank god, and full of locals, and also in the summer. All and all, pretty good place and much better then Seaside or Belmar style clubs.
Review Source:Place is alright. I only go there on Fridays in the winter for free for all fridays. They have good cover bands, a DJ and cheap drinks. It is relatively inexpensive, fun, and not that packed. Prices and crowd are crazy in the summer. But if you are from out of town you may like that scene.
Review Source:girls weekend + jersey shore = sight seeing at the human zoo
It was a scientific research project to observe the wildlife in their natural habitat and we found ourselves terrified by the untamed animals. Â Be warned...the NJ Shore is not for the faint of heart. Â Two people left on hospital gurneys.
And we arrive in Point Pleasant!

Yes I came prepared for my first time at the Jersey Shore, the crowd is not much different than you see in Miami open joints. Â We went to Tikki Bar and ate and then later on at night walked over to Jenks and I have to say I was surprised, the place is really big and right on the beach, nice beach breeze coming in, live music, cute girls, guido fist pumping action going on, and the drinks were super cheap. Â I mingled, I danced, I fist pumped, I witnessed Guido line dancing and I had an overall great time. Â College was done for me years ago, but I can still appreciate a good time with great friends, the live music was mixed from Bob Marley to Barry Manilow, and then the electronic music came on for a bit and then switched back to the live bar scene.
There was a mix of people in here, from the preppy point pleasant crowd, to the staten islands crowd, forty year old crowd, and everyone having a great time. Â People said excuse me when walking by, bartenders were nice, no bullshit New York City I think im better than you because I have a low self esteem and pay $2000 for a shoebox in Chinatown. Â Very surprised after hearing all the negative things about this area. Â The neighborhood surrounding this place is beautiful! Â Definitely a nice getaway from NYC, and so close.
Ridiculous. That's how I feel about this place. I'm actually still fuming from going out here last saturday night.
After hanging at Martell's Tiki bar for some drinks and dinner, my friends and I headed over the Jenks because there was a cover band playing. Now if you get in before 9pm then you avoid the cover charge. Since I already paid the unavoidable shitty $7.50 cover charge to hang at the ever-so-packed Martell's, I was not about to pay another shitty cover for a dump of a place.
Walk in without a problem, order drinks without a problem, except for the issue of them ADVERTISING miller lite aluminum wide mouth bottles and them not carrying bottles of miller lite at all. Weird? So I paid $4 for a can of miller lite, that wasn't even that cold. After downing the beer, I headed to the 3 Olives Vodka bar, and had me a nice little drink.
Issue #1 of the evening: My boyfriend has to go to the bathroom, and upon asking the bouncer where he could find it at he was given instructions to walk past them and make a left. No problem, right? WRONG. After he leaves the bathroom to come back in the bouncers stop him and want to charge him the cover. He was JUST IN THIS BAR. Upon him arguing with the bouncers about him just having to use the bathroom security approached to see what the issue was. The finally allowed him back in after a good ten minutes of arguing.
Issue #2: After my boyfriend gets back into the shithole place, a broseph approaches me with his flashlight only to see my hand was not stamped. AKA I did not pay the cover at the door. He then asks me for my ID, fine not an issue and totally understandable. UNTIL he questions me asking if this is really me on my license. YES it is me asswipe. He laughs and says, go over to the front and we'll see. Fine. So I walk up to the entrance, but there are 2 sides of security. I go to the one side, show my ID, and the douchebag totally blows me off and points to the other side. Me being confused I said no, I just need my hand stamped and you to check my ID. He then just ignores me and points. So I asked the girl behind him, who then tried to explain that the other side is where I should be. Before she could finish the fuckface grabs me and shoves me out of his way and pushes me towards the other side.
Fine. You're a giant douchebag. I just want my freakin' hand stamped. Now I go to the other side and ask the one guy, who points to another guy, who then points to another guy. FINALLY I give him my ID, and he stares me down for i'm not even kidding 5 minutes questioning me. I AM NOT A CRIMINAL, yes I understand underage drinking is a huge deal. I work at a wine/liquor store. But I had at least 10 other sources of Identification in my bag and this asshole is saying that my ID is not me. After me rattling off my information, giving him my health insurance, student ID, visa card, debit card and business card he says "well your picture doesn't look like you." Finally I just snap, i'm sorry sir, my fucking license picture was taken when I was 17 years of age. What more do you want from me. We both give up, he stamps my hand. I down a drink and decide fuck this place and leave.
Here's to you douchebags of Jenkinson's, It's a shame because I use to really enjoy going to the boardwalk and hanging out.
Let me begin with the positives about this night club. Â This place is great for hanging out when the weather is nice. Â The club is literally on the beach and you'll find a lot of beautiful people here. Â The music is usually pretty sweet, and the cover bands are really good. Â
And that does it for the positives...
Now for the negatives, I have never seen a more disgraceful mix of people at a bar in my life than I did the last time I was here. Â You have your steroid-eating muscle-heads who are wearing wife beaters and walking around like they own the place. Â There's your over 40 crowd which consists of mothers/divorcees who still think they're hot but are at least 20 years removed from hotness, and the older men who hit on the college girls. Â There's the Guido fist-pumpers who somehow always follow me from NYC whenever I come home. Â Then, the worst crowd of all, you have your spoiled, tanning bed addicted 20-something daddy's girls who go around trying to get any guy in the bar to buy drinks. Â STAY AWAY FROM THESE GIRLS! Â They are nothing but trouble (and not the good kind). Â If you're going to go here, make sure you go with a huge group and stay with them. Â
Apart from the crowd, the $10 cover is a bit annoying, but at least you get a band. Â The drinks are wayyyy too expensive, over $7 for a mixed drink is just silly. Â
Heed this warning, do not go here! Â This club may be rated high, but that's because most of the people were rating the boardwalk itself and not the bar. Â Save yourself the trouble and stay clear of this place.
People seemed to genuinely enjoy Jenk's more than me, but I still had a good time. Â It's difficult to remember much, since Jenk's was the finale in our little 13-hr daydrinking routine this past weekend, but what I do remember, I'll share with you all:
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
We rode to Jenkinson's from Manasquan, a nice quick taxivan ride that set us back $6 a piece (for 10 ppl)...kind of expensive, but I've come to expect inflated prices down the shore at this point, and given the high prices we saw at the Condor back in 'squan, I had a feeling this wouldn't be going easy on my wallet either. Â You walk up the ramp and notice...holy SHIT this place is massive. Â I thought the Condor was big, this place makes it look tiny. Â You pay your exorbant $10 cover charge and enter what looks like a concert venue-- massive space with multiple bars and throngs of people. Â There's a band belting out tunes on a stage (typical cliche bar rockband shit), what looks like a food court that opens for all the hungry drunks after the bars close, and a sweet beach bar, one of Jenk's big selling points.
THE CROWD:
Hmmm let's have a look at the clientelle, shall we? Â We've got our juiced-up Brucie Kibbutz (GTA4 reference) creepily eyeing his next victim, we've got our fist-pumpin' Gotti wannabe (fuck'n jagerbombs, jagerbombs, jagerbombs), we've got our latina honeys who act like they're way too good for all the guys there and so they get to spend the night dancing by themselves (ay que bueno...sike), and then just about everything in between. Â There is variety here, but it mightn't the variety you find appealing.
THE DRINKS:
In the words of Paul Rudd in 40 yr old Virgin, "Sweet...it's 9 dollar beer night." Â That's exactly how I felt, although I was drinking Vodka Redbull (guilty as charged) to stay awake, I also had a round of shots...it's expensive and it's nothing special, but you're not coming here for drinks, you're coming here to get laid.
DANCING:
Like I said earlier, you'll find some folks around who are just entirely too hot for you, which I think is hilarious. Â At times, I noticed my friends would team up, the wingman would have to jump on the grenade (of which there were a-plenty here), while the other would go for the kill. Â It's roomy enough to cut a rug, you can laugh at other peoples' dance moves, but I wouldn't say this is a great place to go dancing. Â It's cool with how crowded it is, you can still breathe.
NOISY?:
Not as loud as I thought it would be, I mean it's loud on the floor, but there are places you can go to have a conversation (provided you're sober enough). Â I didn't go down onto the beach bar, even tho it looked amazing, but I hung out and conversated with a girl outside on a balcony overlooking the beach bar...only problem is that half an hour into the conversation I realized I wasn't even vaguely interested in this girl, and spent the next half hour trying to get her and her friends to leave me alone.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Jenkinson's is a fun spot, as far as beach bars go, it rates pretty high. Â I don't think that it excels in any particular suit, however, and the price kind of negates anything great being said about the drinks. Â I find it interesting how well Jenk's fits into that boardwalk locale, despite being a haven for drunken debauchery amongst what I percieved as a family-friendly spot. Â If you're in the area and have a big group of friends looking for adventure, I'd highly recommend this spot, bring your A-game so you can compete with all the other people looking to get theirs. Â These are the days of our lives, folks, if you're young, down the shore, and have basic social skills, you'll have a great time.
I really like Jenkinsons. Â Its no vacation destination, but its quieter and cleaner than the alternatives, and you have all the boardwalk favorites. Â Its unpretentious too. Â You still get your share of obnoxiousness and the darker side of New Jersey, but...if you can time it right (weeknights, early in hte season or late in the season) its very enjoyable. I really like sitting at the bars on the beach which are surprisingly well designed with POWERFUL heaters outside for when its cool out and great ventilation. Â Good drinks, decent food, but its the Atmospere that make it worthwhile. Â I dont care if its the Jersey Shore, its still one of my favorite things in the world to sit and sip a drink outside, only a few yards from the ocean.
Review Source:One night while studying for finals, my roommate Danielle asked, "Stef, as soon as you get back home to Jersey, do you like go tanning and poof up your hair and go clubbing down the shore?" Â I just looked at her and laughed. Â Silly, Danielle. Â If there is one thing to know about me, it's that I'm not your traditional Jersey girl.
And then I hung my head in shame...because that was quite a lie.
I may not rock out to techno music, or go tanning so much that I turn orange, but dammit I love the Jersey Shore. Â And what better way to kick off the summer than DTSMDW (translation: down the shore Memorial Day Weekend, for you non-Jersey folk). Â Yes, I said weekend. Â Not DAY, but WEEKEND. Â I'm not as hard core as my sister is, for she spends the entire weekend at the fist-pumping, Guido-filled atrocity that is Seaside Heights. Â I prefer the calmer, more family-oriented Point Pleasant Beach on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
The beach itself is nice. Â Not insanely clean, but clean-enough-for-Jersey clean. Â The boardwalk is where it's truly at: games, rides, and food food food (including the best Philly cheesesteaks outside of...well...Philly).
I've had way too many memories here to go out searching for a better vacation spot. Â It's all you could ever need for a great summer in New Jersey...at only 47 parkway exits away from home.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk is definitely better than the boardwalk you'll see at Asbury Park(RIP) or Keansburg. Â It is a great place for kids with rides and games. Â The summer months are always busy, no matter what day of the week. Â You can find nearly any food your heart desires on the boardwalk. Â The club at Jenkinson's is always packed on the weekend nights. Â You'll get a mix of a cover bands and club music all wrapped in one. Â The beach is clean and large, even if you have to pay $5 for it.
The bad sides of Jenkinson's: Â The parking is horrendous in the summer. Â Every family and guido from the city is down visiting and taking up space. Â Street spaces are hard to find down close to the boardwalk -- lots are open if you're willing to pay the $$$ to park there. Â There are rides, but unless you're 10 and under you probably won't appreciate crushing your knees into a caterpillar roller coaster's cart. Â The nightclub has plenty of bars within it to suit your beverage needs, but the club music will alter your heartbeat and make every hair on your body vibrate.
This is the best boardwalk especially for kids on the Jersey Shore. Its clean with a lot of different arcades to choose from. Â They have lots of food, rides, aquariam and bars to choose from. Â At night Jenk's is the place to be with live music, djs and lots of people having a good time. Â The Tiki Bar which is located on the beach is another fun place right next to Jenks. Â The beach is nice, does get crowded though especially on the weekends and its a really quaint place to be. Â Pt. Pleasant has a lot to offer you and I think you will have a great time.
