Who doesn't love  the Mill Hill Saloon??
This landmark bar has a frequently updated tap selection and fun, engaging bartenders. Housing 2 very different environments, Mill Hill has something for everyone seeking a night out.
At the street level, Joe's is a restaurant with a rectangular bar and occasional live music. In the basement, a punk rock dive bar filled with lively locals.
Come during the day for an excellent lunch.
Come at night for entertainment and a fun atmosphere.
I was treated very disrespectfully by a bartender here for no reason, some wise-ass in his 20s. Â On another occasion, my car was robbed while parked down the block. Â Yet another night, some loud rock band was playing here, and the music sucked. Â If the beer were free, I wouldn't come into this joint.
Review Source:my friend got jumped very close to this place, on his way home from there; bad idea jeans.
another friend of mine got threatened by a bunch of 12 year olds outside this joint, while smoking a cigarette. Â they were like, "we're gonna jump you", and for no reason at all! Â bad idea jeans.
someone fired a gun at this joint, and it went through the window, while there were people inside; bad idea jeans.
i used to go here to see my friends' bands play, but then i realized i didn't want to die. Â
not cool, man!!!!!
The neighborhood is really dicey. Â I wouldn't stick around too late and make sure you go with a few people. Â Locals have been known to make trouble (a few of my friends were harassed outside the place).
The place's open mic/jam night sucks. Â It's one of the worst I've ever been to. Â No rhyme or reason, no organization. Â I don't even think there was a microphone.
The Halloween party last year was pretty fun, though, and the place was packed. Â The beer selection was nice, as well. Â Who else has Wolavers Oatmeal Stout on tap?
When it's busy the place has a cool NYC dive bar feel. Â The bands are usually at least decent. Â But when it's dead...and it's dead often...it's not fun at all. Â Plan ahead by checking their website for special events. Â This way you'll at least have chance of not getting burned.
Awesome dark, dive bar that is a Trenton staple. Â It's a very popular lunch and Happy Hour spot with state workers.
They frequently feature live music, especially a lot of jazz, have a huge beer selection, and serve food. Â I've never had the food, but I hear it's good. Â The only downside is the area is a bit if-y. Â Definitely park close by. Â But a great place to stop after an event at the Sovereign Bank Arena.
Came out here for drinks w/ some friends. Â
Dive bar in a dicey location..
Music selection is awesome and there are many good beers on tap. Â
The bar upstairs is an old atlantic city bar transplanted to Joe's from the 30s. Â One of the oldest bar/restaurants in Trenton.
The upstairs huge and the downstairs is tiny. Â Awesome place, awesome people but try to park close by.
Bonus: Â Bartender gave everybody free Jameson's shots for sport.
Definitely will go back.
