Perfectly cooked food. Steaks were the best I've had. Kebobs bursting with flavor. Â Mom had scallops, they were outstanding. Â Amazing to have such a nice place to go to. Â Their steaks are always excellent. Â I wouldn't come here if you are in a hurry, they seem to spend extra time and attention to make sure the food comes out great.
Review Source:I can't believe this place gets good ratings. Ive been about 3 times in the last few years and every time I get sick. The food is horrible and overpriced. I understand there trying to go for that upscale swanky ambience but start with the food first. The service was ok. They seem like they're trying but they need to try something else. I heard good things about this place back many years ago but maybe it's time to pass the torch.
Review Source:When I worked in Reedley we used to go here with people from business associates, lunch,Christmas Party and when clients used to come and take me out to lunch. A Nice quiet place so you can talk business and still get back to work in a timely manner, Love this place sure miss it will have to make a point to go there once in Reedley again. Food gosh just about everything you order is good and if you want a cocktail you can get that too. Always a very nice place to go.Never once was ever disappointed in this place.

Ordered the Basa Basa fish, which is a product from Vietnam, I cook it also at home and you can purchase it in Fresno at Central Fish.
It was excellent, a large portion with a cream sauce. Â It came with vegetables, however not much of it...only 1 small bite size head of Broccoli and rice pilaf and choice of soup or salad. Â I order the Cream of Onion soup...excellent.
The servers were on top of things, your glass never ran dry of water or tea
The only negative is the fact that they state that they have a dress code and one should not show up in shorts, so I did not. Â But was very disappointed to see that many others showed up and were seated in shorts, jeans ect.
Does not accept American Express, but for the prices charged they should.
Time for this place to move on which from the appearance has already started happening. There was a time this was the place to go. We traveled from Visalia for a 7:30 dinner reservation. My wife and I ordered a $25 bottle of wine to go with our dinner and my in-laws visiting from LA ordered Mahti's. We were informed they were out of Pineapple so had to regroup. After a few minutes we settled for Strawberry Margarita's. Had to chase down the waitress to reorder and we were quickly informed that they were out of Strawberries. Settled for Margaritas on the rocks so at least they had the Margarita mix. We went there for the Halibut and 3 of us ordered the Halibut and I the Ka Bobs which have always been good. The waitress came back and informed us they were out of Halibut. This was getting frustrating more by the minute. We then ordered the Prime Rib and were told that there were no rare slices available. After about 5 minutes the waitress came back to the table to inform us that they were out of Prime Rib. By this time they had uncorked the wine and brought us the two Margarita's. We had already drank about a half glass each of the wine but the Margaritas had barely been touched. When we told her we were done she was very apologetic and brought a bill and commenced to cork the wine and brought us the bill. I did not think if fair at all to be charged for anything. If we had been told that they were out of everything on the menu before we ordered drinks the decision to stay or go didn't matter. The waitress was as I said very apologetic and said she would speak to the manger. At this point he came out angry with us and rather go into any other detail I will just say I am 57 years old and this is the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant and it was embarrassing.
Review Source:My Mom suggested we try Jon's Bear Club for dinner one night. I admit I was a little skeptical, but overall very satisfied! The outside of Jon's Bear Club looked more like a bar than restaurant. Once you walk in you see a huge bear rug with the head on the wall. Pretty cool, might I add! We were greeted by the bartender who wasn't the most pleasant person in the world and were immediately seated. Our waitress was a little old lady. I didn't catch her name, but she was amazing! She offered some of the most efficent service I've ever received and was extremely sharp! We had our entrees out in less than fifthteen minutes. I ordered the Calamari steak with Angel hair pasta which was delicious. For dessert we both ordered a piece of cake. I had a slice of chocolate cake that was only okay. My only complaint. Price wise I thought it was fair for what we ordered. I definitely would recommend Jon's Bear Club to everyone looking for a quick delicious bite!
Review Source:I want to give this place 5 stars because I've been here dozens of times, mainly when i was in elementary school with family. It was always great, I loved it. I'd always get chicken fingers.
Came here a year ago to meet with my family and it was just as excellent! They make a damn good blood orange cosmo! Chicken marsala was delicious.
Came here with the family on mother's day and it was terrible all around. This single isolated incident took away the one star. They weren't too busy with customers, but service was extremely slow! Had a reservation for 6 and 3 of us arrived on time, two more arrived 10 minutes later, and the last person about 45 minutes late. When we first got there, we were seated and given our drinks, then 5 minutes later we got only 2 menus, although there were three of us sitting down. Then the other 2 arrived and were given their drinks but never menus. A total of about 15-20 minutes had passed and we were ready to order (called the other person coming late to find out what they wanted). We kept staring at the staff to come by but they just stared back, no smiles. We told a person on the staff we were ready to order and he said ok. He didn't go tell our server though, I watched as he walked away and then just stood around and kept staring at our table for a few minutes. Very strange! Anyways, finally our server came to us and we gave her our orders... 40 minutes after the first 3 of us had arrived. I understand if they wanted us to wait until our whole party had arrived to give us some attention but they should have asked if we wanted to wait or not. I'm a waitress and I found their staff to be inattentive and annoying. Each time someone needed a refill they'd ask, just take the damn glass and refill it, no need to ask. Then we had to ask for bread, which was strange it was like half white, half wheat rolls that were very cold. Thing is.. they didn't give us any plates. So my family started eating on the table cloth, which I found rude because this restaurant is SUPPOSED to be a nicer somewhat "high class" place (at least what they charge it should be) but they weren't treating us that way so they savagely ate the bread without plates lol. Our food took at least over an hour to get to us. They weren't too busy and we had seen so many people come and go that I thought it was weird ours took so long. We didn't get anything that took long to make, 3 burgers, 2 eggs benedict, and 1 french toast. So all in all, a meal that should've taken about an hour lasted THREE hours! It's like they didn't want to give us the bill so we'd order dessert or something. Anyways I probably won't return for some time after this incident. The staff was so annoying!
I had my first visit here on Saturday. After hearing much about it from my family and having a friend who used to be the chef, I was very excited to try it out. Love the old school feel of the place and the rolling comfy seats. The menu had great options and the bread was great. So warm and soft! I could have eaten a whole loaf myself. We ordered the the sweet potato fries with jalapeno aioli and the calamari fries. Loved both of them, especially the sweet potato fries. I ordered the flat iron Gorgonzola pasta which was pretty good. I tried some of my hubby's prime rib and I think I would have enjoyed that more (it is a steak place so why the heck did I get a pasta dish?), but it was still really good.
One thing was the service was a tad slow and we had to wait a little bit for our menus. Other than that, I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. I hear the crab cakes are outstanding :)
Had lunch here with my hubby and mom. Â The atmosphere is nice. Â although it's pretty dark - there are no windows!!! Â I ordered chicken breast with some sauce on it...not too impressed by it. Â My husband had a sandwich (I don't remember which) but he liked it. Â I wouldn't crave this food/place but it's okay would come here again if others wanted to go. Â The food must of been just okay, because now that I'm trying to review this place I don't remember....
Review Source:I went tonight with my family. Â It was the first dinner where all 4 of us were able to order an alcoholic beverage. Â My brother did not get carded...a little weird seeing as how he just turned 21 (as in 9 days ago). Â
Any-hoo, the food was delish. Â LOTS of food on the plate, simple recipes but VERY tasty. Â I had shish kabob, they claimed it was "grandmas marinade," I believe them. Â Good stuff. Â It came with a salad, some pilaf and a few veggies. Â Next time tho, I'll order the meat medium or medium rare. Â My bad. Â I forgot that lamb is often chewier than beef when cooked medium well. Â
My pops had a steak and chicken combo (big plate, lots of flavor-or so it seemed, I was unable to sample as pops finished the whole thing. Â Guess he didn't like it! HA!). Â Mom had lobster. Â First thing she did was ask if it was a big lobster. Â Then she proceeded to tell us the story of her most recent Red Lobster visit that included the "smallest lobster she'd ever seen." Â The waitress was very patient in listening to the story AND in taking moms order. Â Mom likes to order from the menu and then totally change it. Â From pilaf to mashed potatoes, butter to tarter sauce, lime (in her margarita) to olives, etc. Â She's cute and real nice so she gets away with it. Â My little bro ordered spicy Cajun chicken pasta. Â Also very tasty tho too spicy for my taste buds. Â
I'd def go back, it was good food, fantastic drinks, really nice service (which can add many stars to even the most mediocre food). Â Prob one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had. Â Get this, the waitress brought out my martini glass about 1/4 full and a mini carafe with the rest...she wanted to make sure she didn't spill a drop. Â
Best part, they don't rush you. Â We were able to sit back in the nice, comfy chairs and listen to stories of the "good ol' days" when mom and dad worked at a bar. Â Oh, and don't let me forget the ice cream. Â That shit was sooooo yummy. Â Perfect after a big meal. Â We ordered Meyer Lemon and the "Vanilla, Frangelico, Butter Scotch." Â I think that's what they were called...house made, very rich, flavor true to the name. Â Dad had the flan. Â He dug it, me, I'm not a flan person. Â
Needless to say, we indulged but it was worth every bite (and penny), esp since dad paid. Â Thanks pops!
