This place is close by and usually has a pretty decent scene.  You can watch games, play games or just chill out on the outside patio area with a drink.

It is part of a local chain that has been around since the late 80's I believe.  One in Oak Ridge, Greensboro and this location in HP.  Personally I like this location the best, however, they are all about the same.

During the Summer months the place will be packed with folks hanging out and drinking and sometimes I think the scene can get a little suspect....  But all in all this is a decent place to come for a game update and a drink.

I have uploaded some pictures of the patio area outside as well as a store front image for your viewing pleasure.  =)

Not sure what the hype is about this bar other than the karaoke. Food is bad, drinks are weak. I've heard through word of mouth that this is the place to hang on weeknights, but I'd truly rather stay home and snooze. Waitstaff is nice enough, though.

    What to say about Looneys?

Well, I spent many, many, many a drunken night singing karaoke here.  Met 2 of my ex girlfriends, witnessed several bloody fights and had my car broken into...

Looney's is a typical sports bar.  They have more TV's than Best Buy, more beers than Adolf Coors and more drunk rednecks than a monster truck ralley.(no offense - some of my best friends are rednecks)..  Seriously though, a great sportsbar with AWESOME wings. (try the hot teriaki)  Thursday and Saturday karaoke - unfortunately without the presence of the Looney's karaoke mascot who died earlier this year - Rest in Peace Bert.  Your heavy heavy pot smoking followed by 3 minutes of, let's face it, lousy old fashioned crooning made us all smile.

I give these guys extra points for the bartender that remembered my name from day 1 - and even after a year of not coming, called me by name.  I also give them points for the wings, points for the drink specials and overall for nostalga.   And be sure to tip the waitresses well, they work hard and a lot of them do a really good job.

I don't go there often anymore since I've moved away - but when I do, I'm reminded of what really good wigs, a fresh cold Miller lite and a couple of 120" TVs with sports mean to the average American male.... BLISS...

Bar was ok.  Crowded on a wednesday but older furnishings and had the old projection large screen tvs.  Time for a Vizio upgrade perhaps?  The booths seemed to have a wiring to the televisions or something.

Decor was decent.  College pendants hanging. Giveaways sitting right in front and some games lining the door.

Waitress there was probably annoyed or something.  Was nice but never came back to ask about drinks for one of our party when the rest paid up but he didnt.  Kind of weird.

Typical sports bar with food in a basket. Worn looking booths and tables. Lots of old projection TVs. Way too much on the menu.

Speaking of... Whoever designed the menu obviously likes using strokes on their fonts. Makes it too hard to read...

"Hot" wings were more medium. Jalapeño Poppers are made on site. Mild but good.
