Judy's Family Diner

My husband and I usually have good experiences eating at diners when we are on the road. This was one of our worst dinners EVER. I ordered pulled BBQ chicken with a side of green beans and mashed potatoes. My husband got the same side and he got meatloaf, and he asked for gravy.  The dinners were served on school cafeteria type sectional plates, and our potatoes and green beans and gravy were cold.  The meatloaf was brownie sized and ALL ketchup. Very red. My pulled BBQ chicken was total mush, not even stringy at all and it was very sweet! I couldn't eat it. We told her our food was cold and there was no apology, she just asked us if we wanted to have it microwaved. Then she yelled to the "cook that he should check his burners! My husband choked  down the meatloaf, I left my chicken. Potatoes, once reheated were OK, and the green beans delicious cooked in ham broth most likely. Nobody came back to the table or offered us anything else to eat. We didn't use the gravy as it didn't go with the ketchup brownie well. We went to pay then just gave up when our request for the gravy to be taken off was ignored by the cook now cashier. I don't know why we didn't put up a fight..maybe it was all the religious sayings everywhere in the place. Forgot to mention windowsills were dirty and cook was touching everything with his hands. No one would look at us.  I guess godliness doesn't mean professional, clean, or courteous. Very disappointing!

Really southern style.  Juuuud-ay.  Fried green tomatoes with ranch is delicious.  Ordered a fish sandwich, which was crispy and tasty.  Had to add this restaurant to the Yelp map.  Definitely stop in!
