I never give one star....but this is my second time so I'm giving Kay's the benefit of the doubt.
We arrived on a Friday night early for our reservation....the wait staff was gracious and found a seat for us immediately.
As earlier reviews indicate, Kay's is not going to get points for ambience...but that's not why you go! Â You go for the food and wine - that's it! Â
It all started out quite well with the Haberno BBQ Pork Rib Sampler. Â Unbeliveably good.
But then it went down hill. Â Three of us ordered the trout that was breaded with pecans. Â The fish was dry and with the additions of the nuts it felt like I was cutting into my mouth with each bite. Â One of us got the rib eye...it literally looked like a peice of meat with bbq sauce smothering it over the top. Â I didn't taste it myself, but it looked far from appealing.
Rumor has it that there is a new chef at Kay's. Â I hope he figures it out because I really, really want to like this place!
