We were invited to meet some friends at Killian's for trivia on a Friday night. If I had to find a word to describe the experience I'd go with "uncomfortable".
I didn't have any expectations for this place but it was pretty much all unpleasant.
Killian's sits in a strip mall next to Big Lots. If you're not looking for it you won't see it and the signage is a little weak so that's not really a help. When you walk in you'll notice that aside from the group couch seating area towards the very front of the bar, the remaining seating is all 4 seat booths. My point is that if you come with a group of more than 4 people you're SOL especially if you can't find two booths next to one another.
The service was OK but our server seemed pretty flustered with her tables. For a Friday night, I'd expect things to flow a little smoother, so perhaps they were short staffed but it wasn't packed by any means. That said, there was a party in the adjoining room that was fairly rude and very drunk.
I didn't try the food but what I saw looked OK. The drinks were hit or miss. Rum and Cokes were either watery or stiff but inconsistent regardless. The beer selection is lacking at best. So all in all not a place I'd likely return to but maybe it was an off night. Hopefully it fairs better most nights.
