I'm not English but I wish I were if this is what authentic English food is like! According to my friends, this is as good as you can get in South Florida when you're looking for the pub experience.
I don't drink, but I know that some of the best food comes from tiny little pubs, and Kingshead lives up to that standard. Their menu is pretty substantial for a bar and you can stick to the healthier route like the chicken tikka salad or go for traditional deep fried fish & chips.
I had to try the New "England" Clam Chowder and I have to say it's one of the best cups I've ever had. Very nice spice to the cream base, good chunks of veggies aside huge pieces of fresh, soft clams. You could really tell the freshness - soft and not rubbery at all.
For dinner I decided on the curry, which was just the right level of heat for me. Enough to tingle, but not so much that I was scrambling for water. The chicken was extremely well cooked and juicy. The rice was a bit dry, and I wasn't wowed by the crispy flatbread chip they served with it as a scoop, but as good as the curry was the side bits don't matter.
The atmosphere is a friendly pub - dark wood, crowded bar, but enough tables to handle a dinner crowd. I'm told there's live music some nights that's not to be missed.
I'd definitely return to try some of the other menu items - bangers and mash, stews and pies, and the sandwiches sounded amazing. Good meat and potatoes comfort food for reasonable prices.
First time last  night  Erin(?) waited  on us pleasant knowledgeable efficient  and all around nice person as were everybody  else  .The beer list was never  ending but was not in mood for beer so had  the house  wine very good. Plus a small glass of the  cider  wonderful. The food was  excellent .
Review Source:As far as real authentic english style pubs go this place takes the crown (the queen would be proud...well on the second thought she wouldn't care...haha) anyway, I love this pub, great service, cool interior, very English..so English that they have a little store next door inside the pub that sells chips and all sorts of goodies straight from England. I like coming here for open mic nights on tuedays to perform with the other great musicians and the lovely Shawna hosts it so this place gets 4 stars for me. Oh and let me also say that no one pours a better pint of guiness in sunrise or plantation than the POWERFUL KINGSHEAD PUB! CHEERS!
